I started getting light headed and my heart started beating irregularly after a few weeks on Keto. I was eating around 20 grams of carbs or less a day. So I decided to add vegetables higher in carbs, fruit and intermittent fasting. Things definitely changed for the better after that.

Not consuming any carbohydrates sounds like carnivore diet rather than a low carb keto diet. My aunt who is Type 2 has recently began a keto program through her insurance to reverse her diabetes. They took her from years of eating a high carb diet to an immediate 30g daily carb diet. I tried to explain that her body, used to utilizing carbs for energy, has no keto adaption mechanism. Why would it? She has never needed to resort to burning fat for energy. It is unrealistic and dangerous to expect the body to go from burning carbs to ketones overnight. Trying to reverse a metabolic issue by creating a different metabolic issue is foolish. But of course, the majority of people believe that the medical industry knows best. They don’t stop to think that the information and management long sowed by the medical industry regarding diet and pharmaceutical management of this disease has been a farce all along. It has always been about ‘managing’ the disease rather than reversing it because it makes you a patient for life.

Really? Most doctors would not use diet to reverse diabetes. They would just give you metformin

Wow! I’ve been eating lower carb now for 3 years, I do eat natural carbs. I have really cut out any processed foods. I can see how this can happen because you cannot just go full in 100% you need to wean yourself into something like this ,then you can catch side effects. I did start out with the carnivore diet as an elimination diet to see what caused my gastrointestinal issues, including heartburn. I’m now down 40 pounds I have no inflammation in my gut no heartburn, but it definitely took me a while to figure out what I can eat and what I cant eat. 😀👍🏻

I was only 20, when it happened. I'm now in my 60's. I remember I felt like my body was falling apart, and I had a lot stomach issues. It wasn't until, I went to see my PCP, that he suggested I start eating meat and to slowly introduce other foods, like potatoes, rice or pasta into my diet. My body recovered and since then I haven't looked back. But I know that if you don't have salt in your diet, for some people it can cause them to pass out due to the blood pressure going too low.

@each1teach1412 ай бұрын
It’s a macronutrient like fat and protein are.
@kasiadane13672 ай бұрын
@@BobDeGuerre All carbohydrates are sugars. Our bodies break it down into blood glucose. In turn, it tells our bodies to make insulin and store the 'fuel' (glucose) not needed at that moment as fat. The fat is then locked away so that the body does not get it released from the fat cells until the body has used the glucose it needed for 'energy' and the insulin drops enough to allow it to be released. That, in turn will never happen if a person consumes carbs again before it can happen, i.e. every few hours except maybe to sleep for about 8-10 hours. It's a lovely way to get and stay fat. It also doesn't have any essential nutrients in it per se as a carbohydrate, just sugar.
