Thank you! So helpful. Dealing with this right now after adding estrogen a few months ago.

Hello Doctor. I was watching another MD regarding this topic and she recommended taking Progesterone for only part of the month and not taking it for the other part of the month. She says having a 'menstrual' cycle is what a woman in menopause should want. Indicating this mimics the body ' s hormonal fluctuations as when a woman was childbearing age. I can send you the link for the video. Lastly, as a provider, do you decrease a woman's HRT once 1 year of no bleeding? My MD says I need to go down to the 0.50 mcg patch for estrogen and 100 mg of Progesterone since my symptoms have almost all faded. Thanks a million

There is another video by her about that. Don't remember the title but I'm sure it's listed under her menopause videos.

I started HRT 4 months ago while in perimenopause, at age 50. I take 200mg progesterone in the second half of the month from day 14-28, but I always get my period on the 8th, 9th day of using P. I am not sure if I need to stop progesterone on the first day of my period or if I should continue with progesterone until the full 14 days.. my doctor is clueless, she only prescribes the continuous dose.

Thank you for the advice. I’m 57 and I already had all of the tests you mentioned done due to bleeding while on hormones, everything is good with my uterus. I just can’t find the right Dr to treat me right. The last one I saw said that I just cannot take hormones, and I don’t have to and if I still want to take hormones then I will have to get my uterus removed. She said that there are no other options for me because of my age. So frustrating 😣

I hope you find answers. I follow the channel, , " Claudia Glows" and she has a provider that had addressed this. Are these tests painful and do you know if covered by insurance? Thank you.

Thank you for this! I have been spotting on/off for 6 weeks. I will try taking it with food (I usually take it at bedtime (which is about 6 hours after eating dinner).

I can't imaging taking 200 mg of progesterone. Progesterone makes me bleed like I'm dying. I already sleep well, so I don't need help in that area. It makes me groggy in the morning, hungry, and I gain weight with progesterone. I really hate taking it. :(

Would this be the same protocol for perimenopause when you still bleed every month?

I’m one of those 5% & have had the ultrasound. My lining is at an 8. They want to do a D&C with an IUD that has to be replaced every 5 years. I’m questioning if I should just have a hysterectomy at my age, which would only be one operation & elevate all the problems 🤷♀️

I went from 200 mg progesterone to the IUD because I have been bleeding on and off for almost 10 months. It has been about 6 weeks since the IUD insertion and I am still bleeding/spotting. Getting pretty discouraged here but trying to hang in there.

I’m 61 and on HRT for 7 years with monthly spotting . My doc gave me all the tests but is clueless about dosage. He says no need for blood tests just follow directions on the package. Well my micronized progesterone package says to take it at least 2 hours after supper. Not within 2 hours. I’m going to try within because 2 hours after doesn’t work. Thx Doc.

I am so confused. I started hrt, and started spotting and my doctor raised my estrogen and kept my micronized progesterin the same.

My estradiol patch dose was increased from 5 to .75 and after 6 weeks I had breakthrough bleeding. My progesterone pill is 100. Do I need higher progesterone? or just monitor it. Feeling good on higher estradiol, alittle water weight but symptoms so much better.

I’ve had bleeding on HRT, had a vaginal ultrasound and it was found I have Adenomyosis. Can this cause the bleeding ? My ob/gyn isn’t sure what’s causing it. The lining is within normal thickness. What are you thoughts on HRT with Adenomyosis?
