My wisdom teeth on the top and possibly the bottom of my left side are cutting my cheek and is causing tons of pain. It appears red and swollen and has cut my cheek. I’ve tried sucking on an ice cube, Advil, and a warm saltwater rinse but I’m still in pain and of course, it’s the weekend where no one is open. Additionally, I have tons of medical conditions, so it is best that my wisdom tooth surgery is performed in the hospital rather than a dental surgeon’s office to monitor me. Of course, I am immunocompromised, causing me to be at risk of catching COVID. I don’t know what to do, all I know is that I’m in pain. Please help!

What would you recommend someone with a suspected cavity does during lockdown? I have recently noticed a visible hole on the side of my molar - it's not particularly painful (I think it's slightly sensitive when I eat and drink but no consistent/ severe tooth pain) but it's not the smallest hole and I'm worried that if it doesn't get filled soon it'll become painful! Does this count as an emergency?

Sounds like you could have acid erosion. You would need to find the cause of it - it could be extrinsic ( diet : acidic food and drinks such as fizzy drinks, white wine, fruit juices, citrus fruits, pickles) or intrinsic (gastric reflux, heart burn, vomiting) or combination of both. Sometimes it can be a result of softened enamel that is then overbrushed / brushed too hard. Best thing is to see a dentist once lockdown is over. In the meantime, pronamel is a toothpaste designed for acid erosion, it is very gentle and not abrasive and also has protective fluoride to strengthen enamel.

Hi! I just wanna ask on what can I do, my wisdom tooth is appearing and I think my gums at the back is open. I searched it and it says it's pericoronitis. I have fever and it's swelling so much. Idk what to do since it's lockdown here 😭 I can't even afford online consultation😭 P.s: don't mind my grammar 😣

Take painkillers like paracetamol. Do some hot salty mouth rinses. If you have a fever and swelling you may need antibiotics. If you're not registered with a dentist you can call 111 for help!

I actually have braces and my throat is also aching every time I swallow ( idk the term). We keep contacting the dental but they said they don't have operation yet, other dentals are closed too! I can't call 111 because I'm from Philippines( sorry). But thank you so much you're so nice! Thank youuuu

@@danicadagdag6697 oh no sorry to hear that. Definitely do hot salty mouthrinse. 1 tsp salt in glass of hot water, bathe the area several times a day about 5 times a day. And make sure you clean the area very well. If you have a waterpik or airflows this is good to clean around the flap of gum around the wisdom tooth
