Electric toothbrush should be a no brainer, and don’t care how much they cost. People clearly have the money because they spend them on sneakers, cell phones and video games etc. If you have an iPhone or a expensive pair of sneakers, you should have an electric toothbrush too. If you don’t have an electric toothbrush, your priorities are all messed up! I have had the Oral-B Triumph 5000 for 10 years, and all I do is new brush heads for it. It has last longer than any cell phone I’ve ever bought! Great investment.

This is the third Braun toothbrush I've had and the very best which I purchased eighteen months ago, even my dentist and hygienist noticed a difference. The travel case is brilliant especially when travelling outside the uk where it enabled me to charge both toothbrush and my iPhone at the same time. I'm going to purchase another one for my son's birthday next month.

I just purchased an Oral B Genius toothbrush from my dentist. I didn't think I'd care to use it, but I have to say that I'm a bit addicted to it. When I use it with the app, it helps me to slow down and cover all the areas of my mouth. I used to brush for 60 seconds (tops), but now a full two minutes at least, and then a non-alcohol rinse. My mouth feels incredible, and the massage/sensitive tip really works well on my gums. I also use a lot less toothpaste, because the churning motion will really foam up the toothpaste. I use a dab now instead of a long strip of paste. I do not work for Oral B LOL. But I was really impressed with mine. Great review of this one.

I too have always prefered the Oral-B rounded bristles to Sonicare for several reasons--noise definitely not one of them :). Does anyone know how the "dentist" version of this model (usually in the non-colored box you can find for pretty reasonable cost) compares to the Genius 8000 or 9000? Is it missing brush modes or brush tips themselves?

I have both the Oral B 8000 genius and a Sonicare 9750. I'm about to get the Water pik sonic- flosser, which is both an oscillating brush, like Sonicare, and a water flosser right in the middle of the brush head. You can choose to brush only, floss only or both brush and floss at the same time.

Great video Dr Angela, you went into loads of detail. I agree with a lot of what you have said about it. This is my daily brush and I really like it. I do find the smartphone holder and app a bit frustrating, I use it most of the time without the holder, but that is because I have perfected my technique. I am not sure if you find it slightly annoying like I do that the icons on the brush handle only shows 5 of the 6 modes, there is not one for daily clean?!

Electric Teeth hi thanks for your feedback. Yeah I don't really use the holder now I just use the app to log and track. I do really like the focused care bit especially to make sure my impacted wisdom tooth gets extra attention. I didn't notice it only showed 5 modes, I only ever use the daily clean 🙈

Place half of the brush bristles on the tooth and half on the gums at a 45-degree angle. Keep going around until you finish the quarter and then get the top of the teeth and then the back of the teeth.

This Oral B Genius 9000 Electric tooth brush is Normally £200 - £300 but in Boots I found it to be on offer for £89-99, which I'm going to buy that's great value for money considering how much it origanally was.!! 👍

Excellent review you did here. Not really a fan of all the bluetooth/phone mumbo jumbo. I much prefer my ancient Braun Oral B Triumph that has its' own separate little timer with a happy face and the 4 quadrants represented in the smile area. It also shows red on the brush handle when pushing too hard and pauses for a few milliseconds every 30 seconds to tell you to move to the next quadrant. I guess the app thing is cheaper than a standalone little oven timer kinda thing like mine has but for $300 I still want my happy face timer! :P Sometimes newer things aren't always better. Although the old NiMh battery in mine is almost toast now. Just lasts the two minutes basically after sitting on its' charging station all night. And the process to put in a new battery looks like a total pain as per the helpful KZbin videos people have put up on how to change it. Still love the Oral B though and will probably never change :D

Hello, I want to find out how to change the mode on my toothbrush? at the moment I’ve been brushing on the ‘feather’ mode for 3 days and at the end of my brushing it tells me to switch the mode to tongue but I have to skip it.. please help?

Press the down arrow button on the tooth brush handle, the mode that is on is lit up so keep pressing it until the mode you want is on.

Yes it's very powerful but you will get used to it quickly. Make sure you just hold the toothbrush against the teeth and let the toothbrush do the work ( don't scrub with the toothbrush).

Emily A Hi Emily I alternate between the oral b genius and the Philips diamondcare. I probably use the oral b more as I prefer the round head and oscillating rotating action which is clinically proven to remove more plaque than manual brushing. If you don't need the extras , any of the oral b professional range would be suitable as long as it has a 2 minute timer, is rechargeable and has a pressure sensor. The oral b genius battery does last longer compared to the other models, and it is more powerful so it does more oscillations than the other models. Hope this helps

Hi tom, so pleased my videos have helped you improve your oral health :) I would recommend a rechargeable electric toothbrush with changeable heads. You need one with a 2 minute timer (ideally with 30sec quadrant timer) and pressure sensor. Oral b professional series is good oral b 2000, or oral b 6000. You can still use the genius toothbrush without a smart phone - it is the most powerful and has the best battery life. You can also consider Philips diamond clean toothbrush too which has all the features I mentioned also.

Tom, if you do not have a smartphone, my recommendation would be the Oral-B Pro 2 2000. This is a new model. It has 2 cleaning modes, daily clean and gum care and comes with a built in timer and 30 second pacer. It also has a pressure sensor built in which is really useful. It does not have quite the power of the Genius 9000 but its still very good. It has a 2 week battery life too. :-)

hello, Because we both have the Same toothbrush I got a question on that. IT is about the tongue cleaning Mode: I saw a german Show on Television where a dentist talked about tongue cleaning. she said cleaning with a (Manual) toothbrush does Not make much sense, Because you would just brush around a little bit.But to really clean your tongue you would have to scrape away the material on your tongue. that's why it is good to use a tongue cleaner which is kind of long and flat, or using a spoon. what Do you Think about it ? Do you use the tongue cleaning Mode of your toothbrush? Or do you use another Tool? By the way thank you for your Chanel. IT helps me to learn more about my teeth and also about teeth care. Here in Germany we learn about dental care in the second year of the primary SchoolAnd than never again. i forgot nearly everything from that time. Thank you for your lovely comments it really means a lot that my videos are helping so many people. I personally just use a tongue scraper that is like a long piece of flexible plastic with little grooves on it and I just scrape gently from the back to the front a few times. I find this way a lot quicker and easier. Some electric toothbrushes like the sonicare have a paddle type head for tongue cleaning.

@@vairotsana108 I think that is the whitening mode. The timer is for 3 minutes instead of 2. It's not really necessary if you are doing it thoroughly twice a day for 2 minutes.

I have the 8000, the app isn’t accuarate and does opposite ide of teeth or left side of teeth brushed on app it shows ur brushing the right side. Also it just estimates time ur on the teeth. It doesn’t know how well ur brushing as I kept it on and it whiten the teeth on app within 2m without on teeth. The camera is so bad that u have to be extremely close and u have to lower ur phone if ur 6 feet tall this app doesn’t work as u have to bend over to look in the little circle. The app is bad and needs to be updated and redone. But the brush is great and the best brush I’ve ever owned. I’m extending happy. Also I forgot about the brush detection so if it’s not aligned right it shows u brushing other teeth so that may b e my mistake but it’s not good. It’s still a great brush and I recommend so all. Sonic are brushes are so hard they cut my gums but these brush and all modes are good

Hi Do you know how to reduce one swollen gum around a tooth, I've been to my dentist who said that it was a build up of pulp I've been flossing.and brushing. But it is still there? Thank you

Television King hi if you maintain hygeine in the area, the swollen gum should reduce. However there can be other causes of swollen gums so it is best to go back to the dentist for another appointment or get a second opinion

diuneya Philips sonicare diamond clean smart is another great toothbrush. I prefer the round brush head of oral b ( I have been using Oral B for over 12 years so I'm very happy and used to it). The sonicare works with sonic vibrations whereas the oral b oscillates rotates and pulsates.

diuneya According to a reputable review of scientific studies (‘Cochrane Review’), the round rotating and oscillating head of the Oral B is the only electric toothbrush proven to perform better than hand brushing. The Sonicare is still a good brush, but I would go with the Sonicare cuz the smaller round head can access the hard-to-reach corners! Happy brushing :)

Whilst a useful demonstration, it is nothing like the reality of using the brush. If you were to use the technique with toothpaste you will need a protective bib, to prevent dribbling onto clothes. Also beware when closing mouth as any air pressure will also spray your mirror due to the outlet on the brush head. Remember also the camera reverses the facial image, so it’s not like looking in the mirror as you might expect to see a reflected mirror image. The software app needs re designing. Very disappointed.
