Volekh's original musical score for Jean Mihail's classic 1925 silent film "Manasse" draws upon diverse influences to create a soundscape that complements the film's many twists and turns - from turbulent and lively to somber and haunting. Composers Benjy Fox-Rosen and Shaun Williams combine elements of chamber music with themes unearthed from century-old archival sources. Meanwhile, the Volekh quartet unites professional lăutari and klezmer musicians to bring the film to life while remaining true to the sound of early twentieth century Romania.
