It’s always better to see the full presentation although that can be a costly game, great idea getting a partial. I picked up red tobacco this week from Notino after you mentioned their cheap deal. I love the tangyness of the apple and pear in the opening 30 mins, It is what it is but I really enjoy it.👍🏻🙏🏻

what's the batch on your Carlisle? I have a 2020 batch 7 digits and its not as dark as your version. Had a 2017 batch before and it was definitely a different scent then the 18/19 years.

Spot on review. Carlisle is a better blended fragrance but for me it's too overpriced, definitely sample/decant worthy but Red Tobacco is great value for money. Yes the opening is harsh but simple fix is to apply earlier before leaving the house.

This is some of manceras best! I stayed away listening to people how pungent and strong this.. wrong.. the opening maybe off putting but the dry down is heavenly devine!!

Mancera has a intense version of red tobacco now which I heard is smoother. If these are anywhere near and beast mode then I might pick up the red tobacco. For me Layton is a worthwhile Parfum de Marley fragrance but the only one I’ve smelt. The reviews are so confusing on red tobacco tho some say it’s a lady magnet others say it’s harsh etc

I wore it recently for a wedding and everyone was asking me what it was. I've never had a compliment wearing carlisle. I think it's superb after the 30 minute mark and the magic kicks in.

PDM Carlisle by far. Red Tobbaco I also have. I like but it is the rougher brother to Carlisle. Carlisle more refined.

Hi Dan. Love your honesty and content. In my opinion. No contest. Carlyle all the way. To me Mancera fragrance house plays on the niche label it has. The company produces so many synthetic fragrances that are scratchy and brutal with notably less quality. PDM fragrance house is totall quality, with well blended fragrances. It’s like comparing a Red Ferrari, against a Red Ford. You get what you pay for in the end. I have Aventus by Creed. I pulled the trigger on Mancera cedrat Bois because there was a comparison, and holly f.......ck. synthetic crap. Are you trying to justify spending 250€ onbottle of generic smelling layton, that is performing like 60€ fragrance? you need balls to wear RT layton or herod are overpriced teslas of fragrance world
