Today we will be taking a look at one of the most popular characters in fnaf, at least one heated debate surrounding them, the confusion surrounding whether or not they are Funtime Foxy, and the true tragedy about who they are and what they have become. I accidentally forgot Nightmare Mangle, so here's a brief addendum: Nightmare Mangle is one of the Nightmares from Fnaf 4 Halloween update, replacing Nightmare Foxy. They also appeared in UCN, where you have to buy their plush to get them to back off. They don't really have any lore relevance that I know of, but that does add an extra Mangle appearance and in the UCN roster.

This is probably too late but, You missed one very important fact about Funtime Foxy that became the mangle. Something that bothered me across the entire FNAF franchise is this: Why is Nobody talking about Mangle? Thing is, Mangle, for seemingly no reason, has information we don't. Every single game rises a new mystery about them. FNAF2? They imply information about the bite of 87. FNAF3? Why are they there? Its just odd and implies things about the protagonist of the game to have hallucinated that specific cast, albeit this case is not about mangle in specific. FNAF4? Their existance implies that FNAF2 and FNAF4's mid-day minigames happen simultaneously in some level or otherwise, or atleast the original opening of FNAF2's Location. Why is mangle Already The Mangle and not Funtime foxy then? And why does the mangle show up in the sister's room? And the same issue as FNAF3 but this time the nightmare version can be explained non-canon. FNAF5/SL? You already covered the mess of Funtime Foxy as a name UCN? Why does Mangle know about The One You Shouldn't Have Killed? Sure, maybe all of them do but, Mangle is one of the very few animatronics that was somewhat "Real" that is aware of them. The rest who mention that name are likely creations of the thing, except Withered Chica. This implies Mangle might be a lot older than FNAF2's location. Why is it that this specific animatronic has such...weird lore placement? Its been there every game except the first and SL, which FNAF1 came before mangle even was a thing and SL literally added another completely unrelated Funtime Foxy who MIGHT be related MIGHT be unrelated entirely??? ??? You did cover bits of these, but missed that mangle is specifically weird and has so many appearances, and it always had something to say that nobody really considered all that intensely besides the FNAF2 and FNAF4 situations.

I loved mangle. They were just so terrifying. Once in your office they wouldn't leave and would randomly kill you. My theory is that funtime foxy is simultaneously two and one animation. Like both Henry and William had an idea for funtime foxy and both made their own version. Henry's version went to the fnaf2 location but kept getting taken apart and needed parts from the one from the sister location. This explains the two personalities. The William side is more cruel and pessimistic. The Henry side is actually a child haunting it.

@@whenthemoon it would explain why there's no Bonnie and Chica at the sister location because it's theorized that William designed ballora after his wife and baby after his daughter. I think timeline wise the sister location was open first but the animatronics didn't have the child killing stuff in them yet. That changed in 1983 after Evan died. This caused William to kill Charlie and then she possessed the puppet which caused him to notice the freddy suit slightly possessed. This made William curious and he revamped the funtime animatronics to be more dangerous and he added new additions like baby and ballora. Of course after his daughter died, Henry split from William to go back to his child friendly roots away from and opened a new separate location. His version of funtime foxy was popular, but kids are cruel and it needed constant repair. Some of the staff probably mistakenly ordered parts from the sister location (not knowing it was a seperate business and William was to be kept away from the company) during the repairs before giving up on it. After a careless emoloyee had ordered parts, William now knew the new location of Henry's store and decided to murder a bunch of kids using a spare suit in the back which caused the toy animatronics to become more aggressive and leads to the bite of 87.

Regular mangle is just a broken pile of mangled parts, but since mangle is possessed by a child they can move around like a spider. All the toy animatronics seem to defy their code and normal functions due to possession, but everyone forgets.

It’s clear just from looking at them that Funtime Foxy and Toy Foxy are not the same, it’s like saying Bonnie and Toy Bonnie are the same because they’re Blue Rabbits. The FT model has segmented plating while the Toy model is made of singular plates, not to mention other visual distinctions. Mangle has the Toy era animatronic technology while FT Foxy is in line with the other hyper advanced funtimes.

Plus their internals are entirely different, not even remotely close. The Funtime line has prehensile wires, woven together to fit the shape of their casings, with no major endoskeletal components acting as structure that we know of (even if some larger solid components also do exist within them, in some cases) - Ennard has a few, but that is likely based more on them not having a casing to work with, so they needed _something_ to base the shape off of and wind the first few around. Conversely, the Toy line has conventional and universal endoskeletons which support their casings loosely, with a few key structural points, instead. And the Funtime casings appear to be made of metal, whereas the Toys appear to be plastic, although arguments have been made for both being ceramic which do hold some potential merit but it is hard to say for sure.

Well Toy Foxy doesn't really fit since Mangle doesn't look much like Foxy like the other Toys looking like their original counterparts, Funtime Foxy being used for Mangle before they were mangled makes sense here atleast at the time of FNAF 2. I'd see Toy Foxy being used as a name if Mangle or Fnaf 2 Funtime Foxy had the color scheme or one similar to Foxy.

when they mentioned one head pretending that what happened was a good thing and one being traumatized my first thought was DID. especially if mangle is possessed by one of afton's victims. since the fox head says that they don't regret what happened to make them "the fox they are today", the child's soul might have developed DID from the repeated violence of being killed - in a way that likely severed limbs - and then being dismembered by the children in an act of abuse that probably felt similar to afton's lack of remorse or empathy as he killed them. the bare head would be the part of the system that took the brunt of the abuse while the fox head was distant and protected, which is why they complain somewhat lightheartedly about their limbs falling off and the children's treatment of them while the bare head sees what happened for the painful experience it was and either refuses the fox's desire to go back or shuts down emotionally and goes nonverbal from the trauma - thus its lack of voicelines about limbs falling off.

Imagine how terrible it is for the spirit inside mangle, for a child to have to be ripped apart and put back together by other children over and over, being killed cruelly and then essentially put into a hellish existence of having other children, maybe some of whom you were once friends with, who have know ideas they are torturing you, rip you apart and reconstruct you wrong, and what’s worse is that it is quite possible there are two children in mangle, going through it together.

Sort of an allegory if you compare it to CC/Evan and how, not only were they told that they would be put back together again, but also that CC/Evan suffered from continuous loss in his life that broke him over and over. I have a theory that Mangle's memory/remnant got transfered over to Roxy in Security Breach. they share the same vanity about looks, as if she's finally beautiful as she always wanted to be. now a star along with the others on stage. she also has a Funtime Foxy/Mangle hidden in her room, making the connection stronger. PS: Monty could be connected to Toy Bonnie based on his dialog as well, they both say how they're the star and is much better than others. Chika likes to eat, not much of a surprise there. Funtime Freddy could be Sun and Moon now, flipping between two different characters in one body.

The design styles of funtime foxy and mangle are very different. You can easily tell if a machine was designed by William, Henry, or both of them together, just by looking at it's configuration. A quick look at mangle's Endoskeleton and Funtime foxy's makes the difference clear as day. mangle is a direct evolution from the withered, sharing the suit-support rings around the chassis, making them a product of Fazbear entertainment. Funtime foxy shares the same weird piping skeleton style as the other Funtimes, making him a product of Afton's creation alone.

Mangle remains my #1 Bite Of '87 suspect, adding another layer of importance to his/her character. I suppose a game taking place at some time between the 1990's and 2020's could still use Mangle as originally intended, or a back to the basics reboot.

The Bite of 87 victim was most likely an adult, and the only bots that would attempt to restrain an adult during the day are the toys. Mangle has a custom jaw that isn't like the others', so it totally makes sense.

I think the books just suffered from another good dose of 'the artists screwed up'. Sure, Funtime Foxy might've looked mangled after he got himself banged up but I don't think there's any way he'd come out of it looking exactly like Mangle. It just doesn't line up. So many things would be a lot clearer if Scott simply cared more about who he hired to do the art for these books, and that's without bringing the whole controversy surrounding the artists themselves.

Ah the Mango. Easily one of my favorites in the entire franchise. Some small details about their appearance in special delivery that make that even more tragic is that you can get an email talking about their construction and more specifically that they were literally built to have pieces constantly falling off. Another neat (and cruel) detail in SB is that you can actually find a physical version of the build a mangle in the pizzaplex which combined with the unused model and the ignored scrapping sounds in the vents mentioned in the logs makes it seem like Mango might have had a big role in sb or at least a more direct cameo. Some other Another detail thats more head canony is in that anime foxy thingy from ucn foxy does specifically call Mango “the dog” which did make me wonder if they were actually a doggo afterall. Another one thats really weird is the toy mango in the fnaf4 minigames which along with the other toys of the toys just makes that game’s position a massive headache even now. Another is their weird police radio thingy from fnaf2 where I think I hear voices talking about someone getting hurt and not doing too good but audio stuff like that can be especially subjective. The final part which unfortunately the blob does kinda ruin but I adore the concept so much for maximum knife twisting is that Roxy is at least one of Mango’s heads. Which makes her being made into road kill and have her parts robbed from her just extra cruel. Another part thats even more head canony comes from the freddy files that security breach got where it clarified that in the cutscene where roxy does a derp and jumps in front of the car she wasn’t actually going for the gremlin but was trying to attack the car. Which made me think of susie’s doggo in the fruity maze minigame that was definitely road killed. With the explanation for her going after the car instead of the gremlin being that she stills remembers the trauma of being flattened by one and now has an uncontrollable hatred towards all motor vehicles (but thats again mostly head canon because that stupid blob)

@peeblekitty5780 when you compare the fixed design of toy foxy to the male toys it has a male design, it has a chubby body which only the males have, it has a bow tie which only the males have, and the male toys have long eyelashes as well, also mangle is a clown last time I checked clowns typically have red makeup on their lips, imo it's always been male but I refer to it as it so I don't have to argue with the "BuT iTs A gIrL" people, only thing that made it confusing for me was when they finally gave it a clearly female voice

​@@blazephoenix5849 OG and Withered Chica also have chubby/blocky bodies like the male animatronics in their rosters. Bonnet has a bow tie. Every toy animatronic has rosy cheeks, and only ambiguous or confirmed female animatronics such as Roxanne, Glamrock Chica, and Ballora have lipstick. It lacks other clown characteristics such as a red nose or clown shoes (like we see on Baby), which would be intact on the foot but instead it's bare and has pink nail polish. The hook it was depicted with in the teasers and in FNAF World's Funtime Foxy + the location name "kid's cove" would indicate pirate akin to OG Foxy as opposed to clown. Not saying it's definitely female, since at this point it's just a meme (Mangle's gender is yes because funny) but it's not like there's no basis for considering it female either. Personally, its design (or what it would have been before being mangled) always struck me as one of those "cartoonists excessively gender a female variant of an existing animal character by giving it pink colors and big lashes and lipstick" a la Arlene from Garfeield.

@Tauroost he was definitely referring to Mangle in that call "They tried to remake Foxy, ya know? Uh, they thought the first one was too scary, so they redesigned him to be more 'kid-friendly' and put HIM in Kid's Cove. To keep the toddlers entertained, you know... But kids these days just can't keep their hands to themselves. The staff literally had to put Foxy back together at the end of every shift. So eventually they stopped trying and left HIM as some kind of 'take apart, put back together' attraction. Now HE'S just a mess of parts. I think the employees refer to HIM as just 'the Mangle." The only him in that statement that's about withered foxy is the first one where he says they redesigned him.

I had no idea the Mangle got a personality update in FNAF AR! Makes me so sad that I didn’t jump on the bandwagon while it was there; the game itself seems so fun, I was just burnt out on the series when it came out :(( I adore that the second head was an independent mind though, the main head’s denial is actually a rare accurate depiction of how trauma can affect a person (or in this case, sentient robot?). While the second head sees the traumatic events for what they are and is reacting violently towards those memories, a lot of people’s reactions can be toxic positivity towards traumatic events, like trying to see the silver lining despite the fact that they were hit by lightning. Denying that those events hurt you/broken you is a lot easier than accepting that the event permanently affected your psyche. Awesome video! I adore the Mangle and even though their funko plushie isnt a fan favorite I bought their big version for 30$ because I love them so much 🤣🤣🤣 I have to show my support for my favorite sad fox robo

My theory is that Mangle was the Toy animatronic version of Foxy and when William saw how popular it was with the children he was inspired to make the Funtimes and a hint to this is that Mangle like the other Toy animatronics only has 4 fingers and 3 toes as opposed to the Funtimes who have 5 fingers and 4 toes

Mangle and FF might just be different renditions of the same character within the company. We know that Afton Robotics has the rights to make a character named Freddy, as well as Chica, so this is probably what’s up with Mangle. It doesn’t really explain the voices, but it doesn’t have two if we assume that Afton Robotics can act independently from Fazbear Ent. This was a cool video!

always been obsessed with mangle ever since FNAF2, I was just fascinated by its appearance and the unique way it navigated the world. the thing LITERALLY climbs on the walls and ceilings of the pizzeria like a goddamn SPIDER, which is still a trait that is unique to Mangle due to their.. non-traditional appearance. being so captivated by how strange and unique their appearance is and speculating on the way they moved, acted or even thought, among a few other inspirations as a kid, is what got me into drawing. also, absolute gender goals, we love a non-binary icon, we stan Mangle in this household.

You know what doesn't help the argument? SL's Funtime Foxy has both male and female lines in the files, don't recall which files mind you, aside from that there's also Scott's desire to tinker with designs so Mangle looking different to Funtime Foxy even if they're intended to be the same character can't easily be disproven by the differences unless Scott says otherwise or the games make it crystal clear. That aside I've always liked Mangle and always thought of them as neat. Edit: furthermore I like what they've done with Mangle thus far, they're vague but also on the nose and it's just generally fun, I do wish they'd get a break from the seemingly mandatory appearance every few games though.

My theory is that Mangle and Fun Time Foxy are part of the same line of animatronics but they’re two different builds. I remember during Fnaf 2 I assumed that Mangle (before being ripped apart) was a Toy Foxy but had some kind of parrot explaining why it has a second head. That old FNaF World image, with Mangle hanging from a noose, has always stuck with me. Such a weird, cryptic image, with the accusatory text and heavy visual noise over it, and it does show that dark and grim theme that the games had before that - and, it showed that Scott still knew full well how to make a terrifying atmosphere from simple concepts. Whether this character, an entity ripped limb from limb more times than any could count, did that itself or whether someone else did it, it remains as such. As for dear Mangos herself, there's always been a lot of theories and special places for the character in most people's minds and hearts. The two heads and simultaneous use of pronouns, compounded by the voice lines from FNaF AR/SD, gave a lot of credence to that theory of two souls, and the design itself is so incredibly unique that it will always remain a memorable character in the series. One thing I will say FNaF 2 did with Mangle was underutilization. Sure, the bits where he's splayed across walls and ceilings, showing up in weird spots no one else can get to, are cool but he has the same model between each night. As evidenced by the phone calls and dates and papers and what not, during FNaF 2 we play as a guard while the location is open - first, as any random guard, and by now as literal-rotting-corpse-who-makes-at-least-three-successful-job-interviews. Whatever the case, Mangle is taken apart and remade into a new form every day, and yet we don't see any evidence of that. It's always four legs, two with bare endo feet, one with a covered foot and one with a hand; a standard and unmodified hip and chest endo portion; a weird tail-base piece; three arms, two of which are four segments long and one of which is two segments long; and of course two left hands and the two heads, with a single set of eyes between them (and no ear mounts on the bare endo skull which I'll always find a bit odd). Oh, and a bowtie, just because. This is actually pretty common - the Phantom variant, the model in Help Wanted, of course every night in FNaF 2, and a few others... Adventure Mangle, the one in World, is actually fairly different. Three legs, with one hand, one bare endo foot and one foot bearing a casing, are still present, but the portions around the shoulders are rather different, with a single three-segment right arm holding the covered head and both the endo head and other left hand (although I think this variant's lower hand _is_ a right hand, actually) on single-segment arms attached to the neck, rather than the hand's wrist being directly on the neck and the endo head on a shorter arm mashed into the right shoulder joint. There's also the rather unique choice of that long, extremity-less left arm being instead a single-segment leg bearing the other endo foot as well as a two-segment arm, although Adventure Mangle also appears to only have leg segments rather than the very distinct frame-like arm segments of the FNaF 2 endos... which only ever applied to the Withered. The roaming endo, Mangle, and the Withered share an endoskeleton, which the other Toys do not - they hardly have any at all, although I do like to think that perhaps the slimmed-down FNaF 1 variant is closer to what the Toys have. Whatever the case, this arrangement never usually changes, and I feel like both it and Mangle's gameplay style should, each night - though FNaF 2 has never had the most nuanced gameplay to begin with, when there's only three major character types and only five or six total unique forms of interaction at all, depending on if that lone bare endo not interacting at all is considered 'an interaction' with you as the guard. Could've been a lot more memorable, albeit the focus would've moved to Mangle a lot - but this is a unique character, with unparalleled mobility in tight spaces and a constantly changing anatomy, so it would make sense to have that. Plenty of fangames do the same, from ones such as the popular JR's making Mangle the main threat that the game builds up to, because it's a concept that simply has little limit for size beyond what could logically be sourced and cannibalized into it; to smaller games such as Fazbear Entertainment: Storage, which is one of my personal favorites and has nearly every character using unique mechanics, although Mangle's is so far out that three whole new systems are added to the game just for her - temperature, ventilation cameras, and doors operated from the cameras - as well as mainline games such as Help Wanted, FNaF 3 and SB all making note of Mangle as one of the most iconic and versatile characters in the series. Hell, even the books come back to him - perhaps not Fazbear Frights, in spite of its namesake (with the apostrophe and 's' removed and moved, respectively, but still the origin) doing so, but instead the novels - includes a take on Mangle. Sure, it's a completely different version of the character, being a hybrid Funtime animatronic purpose-built to mimic what Mangle was, but it's still a testament to the character's popularity that even in a whole series of books which excludes the Toys altogether (save for a cameo from BB, of all things) Mangle is still brought back elsewhere. As for the variant in the books specifically - no, the carousel is the end granted to the weird, yellow-eyed and two-handed Blacktime Freddy variant. He gets lured beneath it and then the character he's chasing, I believe it's Carlton, goes and turns it on. This being an indoor thrill ride, where it spins at high speeds while it tilts and raises and lowers, it tears even a massive metal bear to shreds. Conversely, the take on Mangle/Funtime Foxy (I'll call it Blacktime Mangle, for continuity to the line of animatronics) is a completely different entity who never encounters that. It is able to, at will, unfold and collapse all of its external plating save for the head (although presumably the head can as well, since it retains the Funtime faceplates), and its internals are an absolute mess, being all limbs of different types. Unlike the Funtimes, it has internal endoskeleton limbs - albeit far longer than the usual form - and unlike Mangle, both its heads have all their eyes, and are even noted to face each other so it can see as it's only being controlled by a single soul, seemingly the one within Chica (there's a character noted to be a 'little girl' who controls it at one point while we're getting a glimpse behind the scenes at how they work) who is able to do so due to Afton's remnant antics. Whatever the case, its other details also persist - it is _not_ Mangle, as it has far, far more limbs and its bare endo head additionally hangs on springs rather than being directly attached to a limb. It's defeated by the characters luring it into a set of suspended play tunnels, which themselves are ridiculous (hardly able to hold a teen or young adult so multiple kids might collapse it, and there's some psychotic parts to it like a completely dark and see-through tunnel where eyes appear in the darkness and light from the outside physically cannot enter, for some reason), and then the animatronic is made to exit them via a section above a net, which it gets tangled up in, and that net is broken and falls into the ball pit below full of smaller animatronics, reminiscent of the Bidibabs, who chew on Mangle for a while. It shows back up later barely damaged from this, as would be expected, and then doesn't honestly do much else before the soul within it gets removed from it and replaced into the constantly pained husk that five of them have been forced into. Great move, protagonists, in forcing your friends back into that just so they can wander into a furnace less than five minutes later. Whatever the case, Blacktime Mangle is certainly a feat of character design and of engineering, and I'm not certain on whether it's really made to have a Funtime cable endoskeleton at all, although they would add to its additional appendages if it did have some around its other endoskeletons. I've forgotten some of what I wanted to write when starting this comment, now, but there is a lot to say about Mangle. One of my favorite characters of all time, I must say.

Actually, the graphic novel made a bit of a miscommunication.😅 In the original novel, Funtime Foxy merely changed their look into a form that highly resembled the original Mangle. They still kept their segmented face plates and such, but it was not EXACTLY the same. The graphic novel artist made an error and instead made the transformation turn F. Foxy into a direct copy of Mangle.

The Mangle has been my favorite animatronic since I first saw them, as a kid I liked their design and was, ironically, the most scared of them. Something about carried sentience that is actively falling apart and desperately trying to hold on to what was has always interested me. Something we need to consider is the fact that, if Funtime Foxy and Mangle are the same animatronic, then FF lived a gigantic trauma (both physical and psychologic) to turn into Mangle. That's actually a very good motive to sound different, as FF sounds like a confident ringleader and Mangle sounds like a traumatized child. Mangle, as a character, is extremely vulnerable in all ways, tries to validates herself ("I'm beautiful..." is that insecurity?), and at the same time, as her lines and minigame suggest, has an extreme phobia of exactly who she is supposed to entertain: Children. So, piled in all her vulnerability, she's stuck into a "job" that needs to be, every day, in close contact with the one thing she fears the most. Remember the rule "you can't touch Freddie"? Mangle didn't had that luxury. Imagine having that job with extreme pedophobia... So, opposite of the older generation of animatronics, who believed children were pure and adults were evil, Mangle saw the worst of hunanity on children. So, if both adults and children were evil, is there any human being she could put any trust? Mangle, in my opinion, is one of the most tragic characters in FNAF, even when she wants to kill you, maybe because we can totally understand her reasons.

Another great character analysis! I believe I may have mentioned this in the past but I’d also like to repeat it so I can elaborate more on it. An analysis on Freddy Fazbear himself is something I’ve wanted to see for a while now. It’s made me so salty that the franchise is named after him, yet he hardly plays any major role in any of them besides the original game. I think an analysis + maybe a section about making Freddy more relevant in certain games (FNaF 2, FNaF 4, etc.) would make for a killer analysis video from you! Keep up the great work as usual!

I never minded that Freddy wasn’t a focus character. I mean it’s called “five nights at Freddy’s” but I always thought there more of an importance to you being a nightguard whos in this kids place with haunted animatronics. Not Freddy himself. Though, I’m sure both can be true at the same time if Scott went about it like that. Cause I mean.. story was a thing already happening in this franchise. So something like.. I found that odd too, especially in fnaf 1 where he is very Smart, creepier and more aggresive than the others, i assumed he was maybe the first one killed (before ucn) and that's why he was so dangerous, he had been more time suffering, but i Guess Scott didn't want that since the beginning (Fredbear's Family Dinner is mentioned in fnaf 2 as a more obscure place)

@@soomi5667 Sure you could always give Freddy some lore relevance or you could also give him gameplay relevance as well like he had in FNaF 1. That way you can keep the central characters like Springtrap and the Puppet, etc. while still having Freddy as the main threat you go up against during the game rather than the looming antagonist of the whole story. Though I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Freddy be handled that way. I’d wager both him and Fredbear deserve the relevancy they were stripped of in later installments.

Mangle has been one of my favorite animatronic characters for a while. Mainly because I'm still trying to find a way to draw them in a recognizable way without spending a week referencing every bit of canon material I can (mainly FNaF World because my art style is more cartoony). But now that I know the voice lines from FNaF AR... God. That's just some greatly overlooked character development. I always thought that the theory of them being an experiment involving a dog spirit rather than a human one was baloney because they have UCN voice lines that are clearly not prerecorded stuff, and now this just makes it so much better. Not only is it back to basics of "yeah there's a child ghost in here", it's TWO of them. Both sharing trauma of being murdered and ripped to pieces over and over again.

Depending where you think SL and FNAF 2 fit into the timeline, I think Funtime foxy and Mangle are two separate animatronics of the same (plus or minus a few revisions) “Funtime foxy” model that was developed by Afton Robotics. Unless it’s confirmed that there was only ever 1 Funtime Foxy model ever created, there’s no reason why there couldn’t have been multiple, and Mangle is just a mangled version of one of at least 2 Funtime Foxy’s. Them being in the same “product line” but different revisions would explain the color scheme and other obvious similarities between the models, but also give room for them to not be exactly alike.

Since fnaf 2, mangle was always my favorite animatronic, their design it's amazing, I love how they look like a robotic spider, and how in the cameras they are always hanging from the ceiling just staring at the player it's just so scary to me. I also really like what they did with them in help wanted, all his phases are so memorable, like the vent repair section or the "build mangle" minigame from the curse of dreadbear. Just gonna say that Funtime Foxy and Mangle have always been my favorites in Design, personality, etc! I remember I used to watch tons of theory videos about them. I remember on theory that sorta related to both of them. Cause in SL they used both he and she pronouns for FT Foxy, and that one fruit Mini Game with the lil Girl and the dogs gave people The Head Canon that mangle and FT where possessed by the dog and the little girl making them have the constant back and fourth with the pronouns. I also heard from someone else here that Roxy is made a bit out of Mangle so I think that’s also really interesting! Honestly it’s all just really confusing lore wise. I wanna give my Head cannon about this tho. Some guy mentioned that they both where made separately by William and Henry. So what if they where both just Tests? Created with the same concept (pink, cute, fun fox) but for different purposes. Mangle being more Child Friendly and centric, and FT foxy being made as a dangerous distraction hidden bellow? This could give an explanation for why they look similar? And maybe why you can’t find like Main Parts for mangle (Torso, legs, etc) is cause they put them away and William ends up stealing and repurposing them for FT foxy? I feel like this is all very convoluted and confusing but that’s all of fnaf lore at this point. I really wish there was more to come out of the mangle, FT, and Roxy line, cause they are all just really great designs and personalities! But all I can do is Dream. Still will always Love and cherish The pink foxes!

Why are people confused about the Toy Foxy vs Funtime Foxy thing? I always thought it was pretty obvious, just compare the first Chuck E. Cheese animatronic build in 1977 and compare it to the Concept Unification and Studio C animatronics, they look and sound VERY different from each other, but are meant to be the same character. And in “The Fourth Closet”, Funtime Foxy simply removes his plastic cosmetic shell in order to become mangled, so a more accurate depiction of it would be one of those “Mangled Funtime Foxy” fan-edits rather than him just turning into FNaF 2 Mangle like in the graphic novel, which is just an artist’s interpretation of the book, so it’s full of inaccuracies.

Fazbear Entertaniment likely never refered to the Toy Animatronics as "Toy Bonnie", "Toy Freddy" etc during their marketing and showtapes, they where definetly just introduced as "Bonnie The Bunny" and "Freddy Fazbear", it's the same with the CEC characters, how the Chuck E. Cheese from the late 90's and early 2000's was called "Avenger Chuck" but was never refered to as that during any of the shows or marketing, it was just a corporate name to diferanciate between him and the previous version of the character, and its the exact same situation with "Rockstar Chuck" when he was introduced in 2012.

there is no way mangle and funtime foxy, at least in the games, are the same person. The internal and external appearance of both of them are completely different. One was likely just modeled after the other.

I wonder if the second head is less a separate personality and more Mangle's inner thoughts or subconscious? I haven't played the content to know if the two heads directly interact at all, but it almost sounds like one head is the conscious mangle with trauma and denial or lying and the other is voicing the secret thoughts or truths in the mind and mangle just didn't notice the voice isn't in their head

I think funtime foxy was simply modeled after mange pre being pulled apart also mangle might've had a parrot cuz of the second head

I had a nightmare that I worked as a night watchman at Freddy Fazbear’s, and they chased me to my car in the parking lot. I locked myself in my car and tried to drive away, but Foxy used his hook to unlatch my car hood. They took my spark plugs from my engine after opening the hood, and tossed them across the parking lot. Then they started rocking the car and pounding on the doors. I woke up just as Foxy broke my driver side window.

I find the Mangle to be chilling because it is HUGE. In FNAF 2, any shot where we can compare it to the other animatronics, all points to Mangle being MUCH larger than anything else in the game. it's about twice the size of regular Foxy when seen in the hallway, and these vents Toy Bonnie and Withered Chica have their entire body visible in? Yeah, Mangle's head alone fills the entire vent. The reason WHY it's size matters is that this thing, this massive, spider-like monstrocity moves EXTREMELY quickly, andaside from the noise it seems to explicitly make in order to taunt and sccare you, completely silently. I don't think I need to say why something so ginourmous being completely innoticeable when it's not directly over you is terrifying.

Well, since there could be multiple animatronics for different locations, Mangle could be just a variation of the Character of Funtime Foxy. Then funtime foxy is another endoskeleton with maybe remnant injected into them. Great video!

When I was a silly young FNAF fan who gave personalities to the animatronics that had none, I resonated with Mangle so much, she was my favorite. Maybe it was how their gender was so perfectly ambiguous, maybe that aspect of feeling broken or alien or used… When you’re a young autistic/adhd child who has yet to crack their non-binary egg, these things resonate with you, and though it was silly, Mangle made me feel seen. I saw something- which at the time seemed like someone- that reflected how othered I felt, but it was… beloved. I thought “if everyone loves Mangle, surely they’ll like me too, right? They’ll learn to accept me!” And I am happy to say that that confidence pushed me through childhood and gave me the strength to keep going. Mangle wasn’t just great in terms of horror, he touched my life and mayhaps the lives of other young FNAF fans in an amazing way, and I’m glad to see that in her character development they have embraced its own beauty, because he is beautiful, in her own twisted way. Too bad Scott would probably never approve of making people such as I feel seen, but whatever. I will take what I could get.

I've been around in the FNAF fanbase since the first ever teasers for FNAF 2, and to this day Mangle remains one of my favourites of the franchise. They're such a unique character and I adore the personalities of both of the animatronics that make them up, they're cute in a weird way, they're just endearing to me, being a perfect mix of scary yet cute. But one other thing that makes me sentimental over Mangle in particular is the fact that over the time FNAF has been a franchise, I realised I was transgender, and have made progress in transitioning (Born female and transitioned to nonbinary) and having Mangle just be this gender enigma makes me smile. Mangle is just...Mangle, y'know? Love him/her/them 💖🐺🏳‍⚧

Alright I'm gonna be completely honest, I fucking hate mangled voice in AR, I also just dislike fnaf ar. Mangles voice in ultimate custom night sounded allot more freaky and androgynous, though I do like the whole idea that the second head has a mind of its own

I’d never heart Mangle’s AR lines until I looked it up just now, and Oh Boy.. No disrespect to the AR voice actor, but the UCN voice fit Mangle _so_ much better imo. It sounded like he has an extra voice box in there speaking in a more masculine voice along with the slightly more in your face feminine one. It creates a really interesting effect, the new voice doesn’t hold a match to it. Not to mention that the new lines are weak as hell.

@@whenthemoon Don't get me wrong, most of the voice lines for each character in fnaf ar is pretty good, but they're nowhere as good as the ones in the previous titles. Also I just fucking dispise fnaf ar, they made half of the characters metal which is super inaccurate, they're probably made of fiber glass or some other tough non metallic material, on top of that, they made them all sound like android giant fucking robots from like 3098 or some dumb shit like that, it's absolute idiocy, also why do all of the characters eyes glow, only a few of the characters have glowing eyes, not the whole roster of them. I have a ton of other problems with that pile of shit game but other than that, I guess some of the animations are good, though steel wool did the animations for fnaf help wanted 100 times better, I fucking hate that op of a game ar, crazy little crackling oppy boy ar.

@@Nanachi0000 The ONE saving grace is that in canon these are NOT meant to be the original animatronics, but rather recreations by Fazbear Entertainment (thank fuck). Which is pretty sad honestly, the fact that the best thing about your designs is that they can be ignored with little consequence. They had so much potential to be great, but they went the cheap mobile game route and made them all look practically unfinished imho. It really was such a huge disappointment considering how great an Ar game could’ve been. The monetization also made me incredibly nervous for the future of Fnaf, I really hope that was just a one off thing. Especially how they just cold quit updating the game? I have a lot of strong opinions on the Fnaf titles, but AR is probably the closest I’ll get to hatred. Nothing against the people who made it, but I hope that Fnaf World is remembered more than Ar in a few years. At least World didn’t shove micro transactions in your face
