I think context is sometimes important when looking at photos. Even a title can give the viewer extra context. Enjoyed the video and agreed with most of your criticisms. You know that thing when like you're out somewhere and u see a couple and they're both fucking gorgeous and you're simultaneously annoyed you're not that hot but so pleased that two sexy people are together? Yeah thats u two.

Normally I don't like KZbin critiques, mainly because the person critiquing in comes across as superior when their work is usually rather inferior (Jared Whatshisface springs to mind). But I must admit yours was very fair (and your images are brilliant) and you also said what you do like which many people seem to forget is a big part of a critiques. At college it was always what you like and why, what you dislike and why, and what you would do different. I think most of them were definitely 8/9 out of 10. One thing that seemed to show up on the video which may or may not have been on the original shot was the second photo the face looked soft and her chest was tack sharp. Im in no way accusing the photographer of focusing on her chest and in all probability it was a front focusing issue through the lens not being calibrated right. A very good video.

My favorite images were: Ryan Galon (only thing I'd work on is the facial expression), Alice Zhang (I think you could have added just a touch more contrast and saturated the greens a little bit more - to avoid that overexposed sky, try to find an angle where the sun is behind a branch or try HDR), H Wi (but I feel the exposure could have been just .3 stops lower, maybe use a softer light to light the dark plants (?) in the background as well), and Rico Mariano. I honestly think the biggest issue I see with most of these photos is the composition. Most of the subjects are dead center in the frame and generally they have too much headroom. I think everyone shoot look into focus/recompose, because it's a crucial technique to improve your photography significantly. Of course, just my opinion.

I like mobile photography since phone cameras are quite limited when compared to DSLRs. This means that the pictures taken can't be edited extensively hence the photos are spontaneous, based on personal perspectives and individual understanding of their own phone camera. This opens up more possibilities! I want to join!

You shouldn't cut people off at any joint (knee, wrist, waist, etc.). Instead, cut off at the forearm, shin, or thigh (etc.) if you have to crop in on them. Hope that makes sense! We explained this more in our 10 Tips on How to Take Your Photos from Basic to Boss video.

I think this was so nice. I've seen other "top" photographers who are just SOOOOO mean to beginners or photographers who do things differently. And it makes me sad that coming from someone who has so much power towards the youth, could be so cruel & just trying to make them feel like crap because they are feeling like the best thing ever. So I honestly appreciate you guys so much more knowing that even though there is diversity, you still are gentle and honest.

I totally understand the fear of failure holding you back from trying it out. I'm totally the same way.
