Hands down my favorite NES game. My brother and I would rent this every chance we had, it honestly took us years to beat it every which way, but what a blast! Interesting method for sure.

1. Mr. K is awesome, and managing to squeeze this into AGDQ by playing Sim City was incredible. 2. Commentary should be standard, if we've learned to love BG's laugh, we all want commentary no matter how it sounds. 3. Dave's theme IS awesome, and I never noticed how awesome until you pointed it out :]

I did a speed run of this game. Clocked about 9 min give or take a few seconds. It wasn't an "official official" speedrun, I could probably shave off a minute or so if I really cared, but 6 minutes is impressive.

On the character select screen there is a button on the right side of the screen that says "Start" which begins the game after you select two kids. After selecting two kids you can also start the game by pressing B after picking your kids. Since the cursor starts on the left side of the character select screen it's slightly faster to pick the characters on the left. I actually pick Bernard first because I'm building up cursor momentum on this screen to immediately tell Dave to go left.

I can beat this game without using the New Kid command. It proves that Dave can rescue Sandy by himself on the NES version. The video is on my page.

What command did you use to move the doormat at the beginning? I always thought it was Pull but that's not one of the shortcut commands that you can scroll through with Select

While I respect speed running... I wish that they weren't often done with "skips" and "glitches" as that feels like... I dunno... Like the game wasn't really beaten.

Agreed. It will take a lot more skill to blast through the game the legit way the developers wanted than to memorize glitches and move the cursor fast enough, at the right time, etc.

I respect the hustle with this run though. Glitches and the tiniest of tricks are the essence of speed running isnt it? I mean seeing a no glitch run of this would be nice, after beating the game with every kid combination and all that for many years, seeing it run this way is very impressive to me.
