Mansfield Toilet Flush Lever Replacement

How to replace the flush lever on a Mansfield toilet. This was performed on a 180 series tank.

Yep I was looking on how to get the lever in the area that pulls the stopper up.

Video helped me. The nut holding the lever is reverse threaded!

For everyone who is mystified on how to thread the lever through the hole…. That “thing” rotates…. Rotate it from the 6 oclock (pointed straight towards the bowl) to somewhere around the 3 oclock. Then rotate it back to 6 so the hole slips around the lever…. It might be neccessary to cut down the lever to do this

I did it wrong I have a Mansfield toilet but I didn't get a Mansfield handle

This is not a good choice for replacement. I am stuck with it now I want to replace it again. It wasn't easy to install, and loud. And caused a lot of issues. So I am replacing it with the plastic ones, and you simply screw the lever to the handle. Looks like my only choice is to get someone to cut the lever so it can move back out in one piece. IMO it is a flawed design.. Oh well, its old. People are getting smarter.
