There are points i felt like answering Sreechithan, but all that points were mentioned by mitreyan - such as why COVID 19 did not get contained locally and why would a deadly virus will not spread as fast. His base in evolution and science is great. But what is truly amazing is his ability get outside the thoughts and emotions connected to his generation. However i have a doubt on our sustainability, just by use of technology - not sure whether we are yet there to sustain the current level of resource usage to all. If we take the total input of energy from sun per day and what we will require for everyone to live like a rich person of today, which willl be more and how much is the difference. If we make energy from nuclear energy (say safely & economicallt) via fusion to compensate that, we will be depleting matter (however small that is). I know, that way, we will also have to think how we will survive beyond sun getting hotter for us, which is a far future. May be by then, all these may be solved.

He told about the immediate secondary effects that covid made....like pneumonia and such conditions which turned out of to be fatal, provided the immunity is not that good....not about the long term conditions that covid can make like affecting eyes or other organs....most of the population died were old and they died due to the secondary conditions like pneumonia not due to direct action of the virus.
