@@tylerjones4060 TRANSGO part 48-mod kit,makes a vacuum modulator the goes inside the trans and takes the place of the pressure modulation solenoid,this makes the trans shift like it did when they had hydraulic controls,the damn thing cost me 90.00 it goes inside the unit and you have to drill one hole in the case for a brass fitting for the vacuum hose to fit to,this eliminates the electronic off and on again screw ups,then you do some wiring,only 5 wires to control the shifts to go full manual,the wiring diagrams are in youtube ,just look up manual controll for 4l60e its there and shows how to internally ground the shift solenoids when you shift with the shift lever,its actually very simple,but you go full manual and you have to be on your toes when you shift it,cause if you're doing 60 and put it in 1st or 2nd ,you are going into that gear despite speed,and it works,i had to do this because my wiring caught fire and no harnesses available for a motorhome,my motorhome is my home,screw properties with taxes on them,i live almost free now

@@terryreynolds1366 oh that’s ez so technically the first shift solenoid (A) is all gears . The second solenoid (B) is what changes the set. So that it’s 1 -> 2, solenoid B engages, 3 -> 4. “Overdrive” which is just the TCC is a button you can manually engage, it’s recommended to not engage in gears 1-3 but u can get away with it in 3rd. Hope that helps. I’ve spent so much time learning these transmission bc I wanted to make my own TCM.

Great job, you have to connect the tcc, it can be used in any gear ! 2,3,or4! Then you can get maximum power out of your engine. I have a lock up converter kit in my 700r4 and it works great, like a manual shift power, in3rd I use for towing, works as a Jake brake going down hill.

Im actually almost finished with repurposing a 2000 1 ton van computer to operate a 4l80e in a 1980 chevy 1 ton pickup that is carbed. The secret sauce is to trim all the fuel injection stuff off the harness, but leave the sensors and install a tps on the carb, then use a 7 pin HEI module (which converts the analog tach signal to digital on the R terminal) so you get a digital tach reference signal on the R terminal to feed the computer and make the magic shifting happen. Gonna make a 3 part video series about how I made it on my other channel for automotive. Im a Mopar guy just doing some electrical magic for a chevy buddy.

This would be REALLY easy to do with an arduino, and two momentary buttons for up/down. And another for the lockup (factory ECM will do lockup in 3rd or 4th, why not have it available in 1/2/3/4!). Hook it up to the brake switch as well so the converter would unlock if you ever hit the brakes. Could even have a simple LED display showing what the selected gear is in case you lost track. Just like a sequential shifter in a bike.

@HotrodShane4 жыл бұрын
First you'll want to remove the trans harnesses from its computer. Try to use the whole thing its like 5ft long so you can route your wires. Its got 8 or 10 colored wires and youll only need 3. The pink power wire will go to a switched 12v source. The green/black and yellow/black wires are for the 2 shift solenoids and will run to their own switch. Run a ground wire from both switches to a body ground point. Once the trans gets power all your doing is grounding out the solenoids with the switches and making it shift manually.
