I saw this movie when I was about 13 or 14 years old. And it left a great impression on me as young as I was. I've been looking for my soul mate ever since. I still believe true love transcends even death onto next life.

I watched it only about two years ago, and it's somthing indeed! I wish you to find your soul mate one day.. :-) You might love the movies: "What Dreams May Come", "Made in Heaven" & "Bridges of Madison County" These are also movies about Soulmates.. :-)

Peter to me is the best love story on film I posted a comment sometime ago but failed to mention a pity the most striking scene in Peter was not included in Marble Halls, When Mary sees him thru' the railings and the camera dwells on the scene for a few seconds. You can keep all your so called modern day love stories and films, this is by far the most moving, with music, storyline and acting. Thankyou Angie again for yours. Thank you

I saw this film on N.Y. tv The Late-Show in the early 1960s and can never forget it. It has a great beautiful charm yet emotionally it's totally haunting. Excellent film production. The feelings invoked are not felt in modern LA cinema,

This is an underrated Henry Hathaway film starring a young Gary Cooper (and a very young Dickie Moore from Our Gang). I read somewhere that this was Hathaway's favorite film of his. If that's true, I can totally see why. It's ethereal, metaphysical, melodramatic, escapist, surrealistic, and has striking cinematography, lighting, and visuals. I love the scene with Gary Cooper in a tuxedo walking down that beautiful, grand hallway with all those paintings. I only wish Ann Harding weren't so washed-out looking.

There is no movie called Marble Halls. The song comes from Michael Balfe's opera The Bohemian Girl, perhaps most famously made as a movie by Laurel and Hardy.

The song is titled Marble Halls and this version is sung by Lily on the album Lady of the Reach. Enya also does a good version of it.

No, it is Dickie Moore who was about a decade older than Stockwell. Very prolific child actor (mostly) in quite a variety of movies.
