Admiral_Awesome Yep, it's mostly a feeling. I guess it feels like a sort of cooperation between you and the car. In my language, the 'slang' for shifting up in a stick shift ofc is you "feed" the car the next gear. Automatic completely kills that obviously because it's like "Uhh I'm pressing harder can you downshift?" and I'm guessing (because I've never driven one) floppy pedal is somewhere in between.

They would sound much better. What most people especially all those fools who just focus on the number and defend automatic only offerings, is that manual makes for much better sounding car, it's like an instrument and you can make so many various sounds depending on how you clutch and speed of doing it, especially nice engine moans during shifting and reclutching.

We lost this for good sadly... Because all those brands started to cater to rich fools who are not true car people, once they offered automatics sales surged among those kinds of people and then they focused only on them, while neglecting and then ignoring real car people(who are very rare among richer people sadly). When only option was manual it took those more casual buyers and turn them into car people, as they had no other choice and that's how it was for 60 years prior ever since from the earliest of such cars, from Porscher 356 through E-Type Jaguar and Porsche 911. Nowadays only 911 remains and even then in very limited fashion sometimes only on few rare configurations.

I was at the RM/Sotherbys Auction at Amelia Island were they sold the car they mentioned. Yes, there are only 20 manuals made. Beautiful car. They also said it was the last manual Ferrari to-date.

Ruben Technically, the California (the one with the N/A V8 engine) is the last Ferrari available with a manual 'box. As far as I know, they made just 6.

johnnytifosi Unfortunately, not. The last Ferrari available with a manual 'box was the California (the old one with the N/A V8) and as far as I know, just 6 have been made with the clutch pedal.

He's not destroying the car, it's just the gear lever hitting the metal; no harm done to clutch or transmission. You can't expect him to get used to the car within minutes, while being nervous. He's a true car guy so he's probably a more experienced supercar driver than you are

Yes i was driving mainly in 1st and 2nd gear to hear the engine, pushing more than 2nd gear in the city is difficult and dangerous.
