I love to watch chef's work. It's just an incredible masterpiece. The way they cook things and plate them. I'm impressed with both of these judges are very critical but I totally understand why they gave the feedback they did someone's method. Isn't all that important and everyone does things differently as long as it gets on the plate and its cooked properly. However I can see how improper technique excuse the resuit's on the plate. The texture and flavor can be quite off putting if it's not done right. But a big thumbs up to these 2 young chefs and a huge E for effort

The UK version of MasterChef is a much better watch. The panelists respect the contestants and do no go into emotional outbursts i.e. try-hard-for-tv syndrome.

I agree, MasterChef UK and what I've seen of MasterChef Australia are so much nicer than US and Canada

Plus, the UK version has actual chefs competing, while the US version is just done with amateurs, so Gordon Ramsay can shout at them, if they make mistakes. Just like the Uk version of "Hells Kitchen" is much more pleasant to watch than the Us. I think I see a pattern here. Americans really seem to love drama & emotional outbursts. While everything on Tv has a certain entertainment factor to it, "Masterchef The Professionals Uk" is leaning much more towards the educational aspect than the reality Tv one. Even as a chef, I occasionally learn or see new things on the skills tests.

@@phatnugget134Masterchef Aus for me is the best all rounder. Bit of drama but not over the top like the US show, followed by the UK version. US version is far too cringy.

I think the BBC has a ready recorded cookery masterclass programme by just taking Marcus and Monica's demonstrations on how to cook these dishes. It would be pacey, educational and very interesting. Come on BBC, why not do it? (Cheap too)!

Marcus & Monica actually cook all these dishes at the start of the skills test. It may be cut & not a indepth recipe or lesson, but it's good enough to fill in the gaps yourself. Or maybe I just have an advantage in regards to being a chef, & therefore know all the steps that haven't been shown anyways.
