It is bloody ridiculous why the BBC won't show DLT editions. Savile editions understandable but DLT unjustifiable. The man has served his "time for the crime" and now no longer has to officially declare his conviction - as the "spent" period of his conviction has now elapsed. In effect he is no longer a "criminal". However the BBC acting as the PC martyrs they are, still ban DLT editions from the weekly repeats of TOTP. They are not only acting unlawfully (discriminating) against DLT, using "editorial decisions" to hide behind but are continuing to use DLT as a scapegoat for their own past failings. In effect, if I were DLT I would have sought legal action against the BBC for continuing to "airbrush" from TOTP history for no good or valid legal reason. However he has probably seen enough court action is his lifetime not to want to bother. This was a good edition from May 1984 we won't be seeing. It also featured The Smiths "Heaven knows I'm miserable now" and Elton John "Sad Songs" from memory.

Or at least they could just delete the talky parts, who cares what the likes of Savile would be saying if they deleted his camera introductions, just play us the music that we love and stop punishing the artists by not playing their music, crying shame that the BBC are so vile to the people and artists that love this show, yet so lovingly PC to the fuddy duddy's that just complain for a living, and never watch it.

FMTCH Selfish cretins like Mark j don't care about rape and sexual assault. Probably the sort who think women deserve it.
@@skipindarskipindar8308 Don't wet your pants with your "righteousness". Your comment is so stupid and have nothing to do with the topic. Do you really believe BBC shelved all those episodes to "protect" those poor women who would be triggered for sure because of seeing some old TV show with guy who was already punished by the public? Of course not, they try to wipe evidences of the fact they were covering guys like this for many years. I can't see any reasons history of music should suffer with deleting episodes of valuable show only because some Skipindar Skipindar is crying online that everyone who doesn't agree with his white-knightish believs is "cretin".

None of those were hits in the U.S.. The “top of the pops” in ‘84 in the U.S. were Prince, Tina Turner, Madonna, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Cyndi Lauper, Culture Club, Bruce Springsteen, Duran Duran, Hall & Oates, & The Pointer Sisters.

Here’s a thought, DLTs first trial was a complete failure for the CPS, so they had a second go at him, added one extra charge the ONLY charge they got a conviction on, so that was two trials, just one charge they managed to somehow make stick. I’ve always thought the DLT trial stank to high heaven myself and was more a case of framing someone who fitted the bill after Saville rather than genuine justice. It’s not like the CPs and Police don’t have a long history of such behaviour, and as we know it was subsequently found that many of the allegations against famous people in the wake of Saville were basically just lies and fantasy from mentally ill people and attention seekers.
