True, however, that's not what happened. They were both able to afford the date. I don't believe women should be paying for the first date, especially if they didn't ask anyone out! The person who does the asking of someone to take time out of their life/day to go out on a date, should be the one paying! Point, blank! She has a job, her own bank account and her own money (thankfully)! He offered to pay for dinner with the ulterior motive to get laid! He clearly said he wanted to walk her to her room! Why?!?! After the date, let him leave first, tell him you're going to grab something else, then low-key watch and make sure he drives out of the parking lot. I have an issue with the thinking that money and sex are on par with each other. Paying for a meal is NOT equal to the intrusive and intimate nature of sex because it is potentially costly in terms of unwanted pregnancies for women. Also, a first date is not enough time to get to know someone, especially if he/she/they have STD's or HIV that they are not disclosing; infecting someone because of not disclosing this is a breach of trust and is assault. You can earn money anytime, but you can't take back your virginity and emotional investment, health, dignity and self-respect.

9:55 15 years ago, when I was starting off my independent life I'd buy some eggs, and they seemed fine, but I got nauseous few times since I thought it was probably just one bad egg or a wrong batch and kept going back. I don't agree with the guy saying that all first dates should split the bill. My great grandmother taught me whoever asks the other person out should pay for the date. She explained that paying for the date indicates that all you were asking of them was their time. Not a added expense to their finances. Paying when yiu ask the other person out, also indicates your own financial stability -you can afford to pick up a check for a dinner date and don't need to "gey anything out of it" without it hurting you at all. And of course that is the risk you take with every first date that things won't vibe, and nothing will come of it. I asked a number of guys out and always paid. They would often object, but i explained what my Nana said and and asked them to be gracious and accept the gift. And that was what it was a gift, no expectation of something in return. But if they wanted to ask me on the second date I'd be happy to let them pay for that. It was nice, because it immediately established weather they wanted a second date at the end of the first. No waiting for calls wondering if they were interested. They could say yes or no and then we could move forward or on with our lives.
