people do it all the time but it’s not a safe practice and you can it’s definitely against safe boating protocols - to abandon the helm in gear with throttle especially…when you are law enforcement you set the example so your held to the book man

Power loading is not permitted where I launch, it washes out the ramp and causes a pile of debris behind the ramp to destroy your prop.

My future boat, I will not back my trailer into the water. I will park my truck and trailer and then drive my boat into the water and lower it, the go on my very way. She is an absolute pro. Left the trailer in exactly the right spot to hold the boat (not too deep so the boat was loose and floating), line off, fenders in, straight on, held with a bit of power and latched. Not to mention she backed her trailer better than most truckers can. I'm very impressed!

Probably not a good idea to initiate a conversation with someone on the job. You never know how they will take it and especially if she was not having a good day. For us it was just a learning process on how to properly dock a boat and how to load it on the trailer. She should be very good at it. She did very good all by herself, I commend her. That is a nice job I would say, especially if the day was uneventful. Boating while getting paid, cannot beat that.

@@frankm4277 people should never try starting a conversation with ANY TYPE OF LEO. Especially if your recording them or anything else in public for that matter. They are constantly looking for some reason to jam someone up on any bullshit charge they possibly can. They hate being recorded. I've only known maybe 3 LEO's in my life that actually did their job completely by the books, were 100% fair with everyone they encountered, and could care less if someone was recording them. All 3 ended up changing occupations because of how shady, unprofessional, and corrupt 99% of the police force was that they worked for. They were always talked down to and given all the grunt work because all the higher up's in command knew they wouldn't bend the rules or do anything that wasn't by the book's or wrong. They knew they wouldn't lie for the department and would tell the truth about any and everything weather good or bad against anyone or anything. The departments chief and higher up's don't want people like them. They want LEO's that will do whatever they say and to do everything they can to charge someone with a so called "crime" to get that revenue money from them. These types of officer's are the one's that get off on the feeling of having power over another person and able to tell or make them do whatever they want. They think that badge makes them invincible and able to do whatever they want to and treat every who they want like shit just so they can feel that small amount of power they may have. So never go out of your way to talk to a LEO. Even if they talk to you first and they seem nice. Just nod your head and smile or just give simple 1 word responses. They aren't there to be nice and to be your friend. They have only 1 thing on their minds when they are on the clock and that's finding every possible thing they can to bust every person they come in contact with.

Its not tricky its very easy. Figure out how far to back trailer into water so you can drive up onto rails and boat is secure. Again not hard.

Leaving the helm with the motor throttled up & bending over the front of the boat with your head down is WRONG!!!! I don't care what some of you guys think.. that's idiotic..I'm sure she wasn't trained that way. I've been boating for 50+ years, launching & retrieving my boat, probably 200-300 times, many by myself. I coast my boat to the trailer, get out and hook up strap and crank my boat in. No strain on motor or boat, get it right on the trailer every time. I can launch a boat in 30 seconds & retrieve my boat in approx 2 minutes. No brag, just fact...my boat is a 1995 Stingray, 21' 6" trandem axle trailer, ski boat, excellent cond. I've seen all kinds of crazy things happen at the boat ramp. The worse thing is many people can't back their trailer in the water...They need to practice in an empty parking lot, not at the boat ramp. You should have all your gear & coolers, and children in the boat BEFORE you get to the ramp!!!! Be considerate of the boaters who know what they're doing!!

It's a lesser used ramp. Also notice how the docking skills are better than the big popular ramp videos. This gives a demograph of the personalities that go there. Most of the reason for the 'objections' is because these individuals don't expect a videographer at this ramp. The miami boat ramps have actual crews that set up at the ramps or jetties. You know how like celebrities get upset when they are out in the middle of no where, a photographer interrupts them when they think that they can relax and not have their celebrity persona on?
