Poor Garp. Luffy jumping in and screaming that he is Ace’s brother causes even more unmentioned problems because if Garp didn’t immediately clarify that Luffy wasn’t Roger’s son then the public may have immediately started worrying how many kids Roger had, where they are, and whether even more pirate king’s children will rain from the sky or other unexpected angles to intervene in every important event going forward. And because he had to reveal Luffy’s background he then had to risk people finding that Garp was his grandfather and thus learn that the Navy Hero had fathered the world’s worst criminal. Especially since shouting important information at 500 decibels was the very first thing Luffy did in the war. One shout about Luffy being Ace’s brother forced Sengoku into an information war in the middle of a physical war.

@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr I wouldn’t say killing ace and whitebeard backfired since their deaths weren’t exactly to end piracy since ace was to kill the Gol D bloodline which is what happened and whitebeard is still technically a threat from the Rock pirates while being a terrible foe to go up against in general. And the cross guild wasn’t a result from the war that was a result from getting rid of the warlords which has nothing to do with Marineford war. And Blackbeard taking over as Emperor would have just been someone else with without that second fruit hell even without the second fruit he could probably still become an emperor since they gave Luffy that “fifth emperor” and would have either gone looking for that second fruit or get one that is equally as good of a fruit if not able to. Personally just as a quick thought the slow slow fruit and the dark dark would probably be a killing combo with what we have seen Foxxy do plus guarantees 100% that you can suck your opponent with the black hole effect.

Like we don’t want those 2 fighting side by side and we were handing one of them on a silver platter let’s use the advantage to take out Whitebeard because he’s not gonna just sit tight and let him die. If they don’t do a public execution they would have probably broke into Impel down instead of Luffy (or at the same time as him) if it ends piracy then great but if not oh well we still showed them that they won’t be safe if they continue it.

What the Marines actually got: 1. A dead Whitebeard. (Success!) 2. A dead Ace. (Success!) 3. Luffy, a pair of warlord, and a pair of major Revolutionaries manages to get away. (Fail) 4. Blackbeard manages to get a second Devil Fruit power. (Major problem) 5. Marineford is nearly destroyed. (Fail.) The most ironic part? Without Shanks, a PIRATE, showing up and ending the war, who knows what else would've gone belly up? That war was an epic fail of epic proportions.

Sengoku may be a master strategist but even he wouldn't be able to account for one of the rookie Pirates on the field ending up in a fucking time loop until Ace survives the events of the day

@@RoadtoArkham More and more proof that Luffy's cartoonish powers are more intended than people think it would. Everyone remembers that its kinda tough to get into One Piece at first, because it seems goofy and a bit farfetched at times. But after going through that phase, people dont realize that even in the relatively wacky powers that are Devil Fruits, Luffy's journey is even wacky from in-universe standards. Like, Arlong Park, you bite and drown this dude and your race is 10x stronger than the average human on land, arguably 100x stronger when in water if not more. And yet, after almost dying he still comes after your ass and defeats you. You can take any arc, and it is absolutely ridiculous how one rubber boi does the shit that he does. Kaido was simply the first one to officially say it out loud, but we have at least 1 or 2 panels of reaction faces that are absolutely in shock. And not because something bad happened from their perspective, because by all means, these people are well aware of devil fruits and often keep in mind that a devil fruit could be weird to handle. But then comes Luffy, and not only does he have a weird ability, every single thing he does is goofier than anything you could imagine. Everytime you think you know what you could expect, something you didnt think was possible with that power happens. In One Piece, we have never really seen rubber at all. And lastly, Luffy is the only person we know of, that had trouble learning his power. And sure, you might say that's because he was a kid, but we've seen many kids having little to no issue learning their abilities, and we've seen adults being fully capable of utilizing their devil fruits(like Kaku and Kalifa, sure, they were CP9, but they literally had 1-2 hours at most before they had to use them). Luffy, unbeknownst to himself, had the wackiest fights ever in recorded one piece history.

It was the first time the hito hito nomi model Nika was AWAKENED, not eaten, awakened. i like to think the fruit was constantly challenging Luffy, seeing how far his creativity would go. As the show progressively went, Luffy got way more serious, but his powers were getting wackier (like, how is Luffy able to just set his fist on fire? Or when can he use smoke to levitate him( when snake man transformation occurs))

The only exception I think would be possible is if the devil fruit can only transfer to other similar fruits and an island in the middle of nowhere being the only island to cultivate those fruits. But then we know that the WG is pretty much aware of all devil fruits in existance and would know how they work, so if the WG would want to use that fruit themselves, they would send out a taskforce to go there to either collect that fruit, or to "scout" that area if they dont want to seem sus. I think that perhaps, the nika fruit may have been on Laughtale for a very long time and that the WG knows where Laughtale is(I dont see how they could not know, I am assuming that Imu, of all people, can fluently read the poneglyphs and is fully aware of the location, but that it cannot be destroyed by any known means). I highly doubt that Roger was the first one to reach Laughtale, I wouldnt be surprised if Toki would have send people to the future after the ancient kingdom was doomed to fall, and someone collected the fruit from the island, and ever since then the WG was forced to rename the fruit.

Could Reiju have OS the whole Blackbeard crew? Absolutely not. The only reason there even was a break was because the intruder was saved by a group of prisoners who disappeared 10 years ago that had the exact right devil fruit to prevent him from dying from poison. Magellan did litterally nothing wrong.

@@benikujaku4567 , it was because Magellan’s Fruit is wasted on Magellan that Luffy broke out with all of the Prisoners from Level 1 to 5.5 as well as two prisoners from Level 6 as well as Black Beard breaking out almost all of the Prisoners from Level 6, but if Reiju had his Devil Fruit then there’d be no prison breaks period as shown in Whole Cake Island and the Cover Story showing Whole Cake Island Post-Wano, so clearly the reason there were three or four different break ins in Impel Down is because Magellan doesn’t use his Devil Fruit to its full potential because there’s no such thing as useless Devil Fruit, but there’s a useless Devil Fruit user like Magellan.

Something that interests me about Garp during the Marineford battle, is for the most part, as much as he hates it, it looked like he was okay with Ace dying if it was just a normal execution. But the fact that Akainu went after Luffy, in which Ace sacrificed himself to protect Luffy, that angered Garp because he probably came to terms with the execution, not what ended up happening

I think Garp knew he was gonna be really emotional when ace died which is why he had sengoku next to him, but he was not prepared for just how much pain seeing ace die would actually put him in. Ace was basically garp’s son, dude even picked up his eating habit😂 but thats why he told sengoku “hold me down” because he realized he was about to lose all rational thought and just become a vessel of blind rage if his best friend didnt smack some sense into him right then and there. Sengoku was probably the only person who could have stopped garp and its not because of his strength, its because 1) theyre best friends and 2) they couldnt risk losing the military’s trust in them since it would ruin Sword’s plans

Don’t forget that this war was a really high risk move on Sengoku to ultimately show people the power of the marines so everything is being broadcasted. Then a crackhead shows up with a bunch of prisoners from Impel Dow, the most guarded jail the Marines have to show for. And in the middle of it, the broadcasting snails have been hijacked by said prisoners brought by the crackhead which really made a foool of the Marines so bad he prolly wanted to pull out his whole afro. No wonder the poor dude retired immediately after this 😂

I like to think that Garp only really decided he'd kill Akainu due to Luffy showing up and due to the events that happen after they freed Ace. I feel like if he went through it normally then he'd have no one to blame for it, but I feel like Garp secretly wanted Ace to get away, especially knowing how happy Ace seems with his crew. So once he saw Akainu do the deed, at that point he wanted to kill him.
