I hope SSgt Tim Chambers becomes part of Marine history. He stepped up and beyond his station even after he left the Marine Core. He has done more for the past, present and future veterans than any Congress men or women have ever done. And he didnt do it for glory or fame. He did it for those who have served or will serve our nation and also for those who never made it home. (Salutes)

Although i was in Bosnia as a mere Engineer, i understand the feeling when you question the reason of being in a conflict. The passion slips away, and it needs something like this man to stand for you, while others in power are so high on there horse they don't see us. Much respect from the UK, from a worn out computer slob who was once there and understand what this means.

My son in law was a Marine. My daughter, while he was in bootcamp, got a tattoo on her wrist that says Semper Fi in 1 inch cursive lettering. Simple and beautiful. It was a show of her live and support for her soldier. She has gotten some flack for it but nothing insulting. Until last year. Someone said to them that she shouldn't have that tattoo, she wasn't a Marine. My Boi told them that she married a soldier. She was st his side wherever he went. She suffered every bit as much as he did when he was deployed both times. She never complained that he was gone most of her first pregnancy. And she understood when he missed the birth of their first child. A beautiful daughter. She was his rock while he was away. She had his back when he came home broken and never judged him. She was everything he needed when meds couldn't help him. She nursed him back to health and protected him in the moments he was weak. She was strong, wise, and tough as nails. If anyone deserves that awesome tattoo, it's her and he would defend it with his last breath. She was his Marine. You tell the little woman you value her. And tell her we all say Semper Fi. And to you, sir, Oooh Ra!

"Thank you, Marine, for giving me my welcome home" ... That right there hits pretty damn hard. I'm a 29 year old grown man, and that managed to tug a few drops of tears. As a prior-service Airman, even I have such a deep respect of the sacred brotherhood and lore shared between Marines. This is the kind of dedication you guys instill into your troops, especially as early as Recruit training, and we see it in so many Marines, so hats of to you guys and to SSgt Tim Chambers! I don't feel as though it'd be appropriate for me to repeat the Corps' motto, so I wish you all Godspeed, and "Aim High".

I dreamed of being a Marine since I was 4 years old. The whole dream started when my dad showed me a picture of him in Laos the battle happened after the Vietnam war (We’re Vietnamese) my dad left the South Vietnamese Army at rank Private because in Vietnam you stay at the rank as Private but idk why. My whole dream started when my dad brought me to a USMC Museum I was amazed with all the tactics and tools they’d have, every single object that I hold has a weight to it. The clothes and combat gears has a weight to it too I looked at one of the load outs and I was pretty amazed and I said “wow it looks so beautiful. In 4 years I’m going to be a Marine and I know what I’m going to do there when I make it out of training. I was thinking to be in the special operations or a green beret i was already taught of how to handle a pistol and an Assault rifle the first gun I ever fired was an M4A1 with custom attachments. The gun was already light itself until people encourage me to add attachments I had a red dot sight,Vertical grip, flash hider idk where they got that and a laser they said that the laser was meant for guiding but some people use it for hip firing. And there was one guy with a rifle that looks almost like a M16 but it was actually a marksmen rifle. The gun was beautiful lemme tell you guys that I went up the man who was fringing the marksmen rifle and I asked him can I see your gun and he replied “No” so I said can I see your magazine and he said yes I held the magazine just to look at the rounds he was shooting with it was a 458. Socom with a Blue tip I asked the man “what the blue tip for” and I think he said armor penetrating or incendiary rounds I did not hear the man right because there was shooting going on.

I consider myself on the left of the political spectrum. I disagree with alot of the wars we get involved with. However, I am joining the Marines. Not because of politics or fame, but because I love my country. She has flaws sure but what country doesn’t? I’m lucky, i’m currently in college and have a decent life. I’m joining to honor the sacrifices those who served before me made. I’m willing to die to protect everyone’s right to freedom.
