I was 14 years old when I saw her run the 200m final in Sydney Olympic. She was an inspiration. Was really heartbroken when I heard about her doping case .

She payed for what she did, fully. I feel sorry for her because she was remorseful. and I believe that everone deserves a second, sometimes even third chance to start over. I just wish her well.

Class act. Humour, Candour, Humility in the face of tremendously trying circumstances. How many people can say they faced their demons so nakedly , and rehabilitated so fully. Reminds of the quote about preferring to be whole over being good.

True enough and on top of that celebrities and people in general have committed worse crimes and not gone to prison. I think the fact her career was ruined, the amount of money she lost, the fact her crime would and was broad cast to the world and getting a community service order was more than enough.

Olympic athletes are a spectacle where people want , demand , to see extraordinary physical achievements. The pressure they must feel Is Immense and so most of them take performance enhancing drugs. Why Is she not protected by her circumstances to some extent at least ?

Wow, who are you to judge her? You can't even spell perjury correctly. Maybe you're right, maybe she hasn't learned her lesson, but you haven't either. The lesson you need to learn is rudimentary spelling, go back to elementary school and when you can spell as well as a fifth grader, then get back online and judge everyone else because by then you'll be perfect.

I remember looking at how masculine her face was at the time that she was still doing track and field and even though that should have been enough to hint or prove that she was suing steroids, I was in DENIAL because I thought that she was so awesome. Such a shame because her talent was evident even before she got into the olympics. I don't think that she needed the drugs, but I guess we'll never know.

We are really living in a crazy world. I mean think about it. You take substances in your body and doping yourself and you go prison for something like this. it's just a global competition nothing more serious. I don't understand why there is a need to be punished for such a completely insignificant thing, when in reality it has no meaning.
