Your banter in this one is so fun, and the Australian pronunciation comparison cracked me up. XD I'm loving these overviews, and how balanced they are (it can be difficult to be both enthusiastic/positive for a game and honest about why it might not be a good fit for your own collection or group). I'm a huge fan of Wingspan in theory and enjoy teaching it to new players at conventions, but it's not a good fit for my collection to own. From this video, I can see that Mariposas would probably be in a similar category for us. Great info!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on the review Sarah. We don't own Wingspan for the same reasons but always happy to play it. Appreciate your comments on our style, we are still trying to work and improve on it each time. 😊

I really like the takes you two have. Telling me the things I want to know. Also the accents are lovely. Keep it up, I'm gonna go share your reviews.

Thank you Gordie that is really lovely feedback. Although I'm not sure what you mean about the accents 😂 thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

This was good to watch. I wasn't sure if this game would work in my collection. You probably saved me some money. I appreciate your thoughtful videos on these games. Thank you!

No worries Stitch thank you for watching! One of our older reviews... maybe you can see how we have evolved our style over time (not to mention our cameras lol)... ☺

This game is marked down to $25 at a local bookstore. I'm considering it, because it is so unusual. I've heard the pros and cons from several different reviewers. Almost everyone agrees it isn't best at two players. I also wish it had a solo. I usually listen to you ladies and also Zee Garcia. He gave this game a whopping 8.5!

Haha that intro. Mazzapazza This came out right around the time that my daughter was involved in a monarch hatching program with the local Southern Adirondack library system. Every year there is a small army of kids in upstate New York spreading milkweed seeds, hatching caterpillars, tagging and releasing butterflies. I shared the article and information with the library to advertise, I'm very curious if anyone bought it. If I see it around the $20 mark I'm planning on donating a copy to the local library. Also as a lepidopterophobe butterflies aren't my thing so this is definitely not my cup of tea either weight wise or theme haha. I literally had nightmares just about every night when my daughter was hatching the butterflies in our house 😂😆😂

We like this game too! We too have only played it 2-player but are looking to expand that at some point. We too find it a little light but sometimes that is what we are looking for. I think the points for the life cycle cards are worth one point at the end of the game, not each season. We have found that there are not many opportunities to get matching life cycle cards with 2 players as not many are flipped over, so we are going to try flipping two tokens when you land on a way station (still giving the die roll to the butterflies that land first on a spot even if flipped) to open up some more tactics with trying to get sets of life cycle cards and pursue points strategies that way too.

Ah yes that is a good solve, I think Rahdo had mentioned a 2 player variant to fix this issue too. Ultimately we didn't think we had a role in our collection for this one but i'm sure it will make millions of others very happy... we also love how educational it is ☺ Thanks for sharing your thoughts (and rule clarification!)

After Before You Play gave you a shout hopped right on over and I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED. I've been bingeing your channel and Maggie just spilled some very important information and now I must know. Who is her favorite Animal Crossing Villager? lol Love the reviews. Can't wait to be caught up!

Thank you so much Richard for the kind words. Monique and Naveen are the best and we were so humbled to be on their list. Very happy to have you here and glad you are enjoying the content. I (Amy) am pretty certain Maggie likes the character with the guitar (lol sorry I don't know their names)... Maggie is very musical and often has a guitar in hand... Thanks again for taking the time to comment ☺

It was nice to hear Maggie do the intro :) Thanks for all the background information, it made a lot of sense when you explained it and I can see why Elizabeth Hargrave was inspired by the journey. I appreciate Amy’s intros but I also liked hearing Maggie’s take too and would appreciate if she wanted to do more intros. Game looks good for us. Good to know about 2p thoughts. And liked the animal crossing banter 😂Thanks!

This made us laugh a lot - you're so right that I need to talk less... I just have so many feelings! We really appreciate your comments and thoughts on the game. I think we have similar taste. Amy

Hi! I've been loving your channel and I recently made my partner watch this episode because I think she'd like Mariposas. She's still on the fence but she is very curious about where Maggie's jumper is from?
@ThinkerThemer3 жыл бұрын
Hi Oliver! Thank you for watching and the lovely feedback. The jumper Maggie is wearing is a brand that started here in Melbourne Australia, it's called Neuw and mostly famous for jeans! She has such a colourful wardrobe... the opposite of mine 😆 thanks again for watching!

I really appreciate this review. I feel like I really understand it and why I would or wouldn't like it. And thank you for being honest about having an agenda with your non-gamer friends. Shh don't tell my friends.

This was worth watching just to hear you say “Mazzapazzah.” The game doesn’t look like my kind of thing. I wonder if Papillon is any better.
@ThinkerThemer3 жыл бұрын
Hahahaha thanks Terrence ... so Australian! We still call it that :D we haven't played Papillon but I think it is also quite light... maybe too light for us
