Ahaha honestly I don't have the strike issue and play blades 2-9 so I'd go for looks all day over anything cause it doesn't matter, but in the British winter months why not ground conditions are so bad it would only help

Your willingness to play non conventional style clubs is refreshing. I’m very excited to see the “playing” results. If these clubs give you no more than 5 to 7 pure strikes per round extra because of your confidence boost that could translate into a 3 or 4 stroke reduction in your handicap. You must be giddy at the prospects.

From past videos I know you've long been an advocate that these irons would be good for a lot of golfers. Now other manufacturers are also realising this, any chance you would do a comparison test with these Launcher Turbo irons v the Cobra T-Rail and Wilson Launchpad irons?

I purchased a set of the 2017-18 Launcher HBs about a month ago (4H, 5-GW, Smart Sole 3 SW) largely on your previous strong recommendations. I'm a 63-year old, 13-handicap with limited flexibility from back issues. They're the easiest clubs I've ever hit, and they make golf fun again. Put the club on the back of the ball, and it will fly. Thanks, Mark, they're just what the doctor ordered!

I remember when Cleveland released the very first Hibore iron set. I was hitting them at a shop, and the salesman came over and asked if I had any questions. I was looking for new irons. He asked what my handicap was, which was probably around a 5 or 6 at the time. “Oh, well, you can’t hit something like this. Let me show you something smaller in your handicap range”. But, but, these feel great and I’m smashing them! 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

Mark. Just bought the hb launcher set for my wife who is trying to learn at age 58. Based on reviews driven by KZbin. We will see what happens. Love that you are putting yourself out there. He made the point on another video about.. is it the song or the power of the radio station that makes the song. If Taylormade or Callaway had this exact product and piled a couple of million dollars into marketing and had all their retailers floor the product (vs special order), I bet this style of club would be common in all other product lines in 2 years. They would drive the market. It's cleveland, wilson, tour edge, and cobra who are doing this style of club. Not TM, Callaway, Ping, and Titleist.

Yes, play them. I love to see you doing this. I am a 2-4 handicap and have changed to the Cobra T-Rails, which are very similar to the Cleveland Launchers, and I LOVE them. I never thought I would play "hybridized" irons, but they are so easy to hit. Why make the game harder with unforgiving blades just so you "look like a player"? Glad to see a good player like yourself is at least open to it. I don't think enough players think that way - especially mid to high handicap players.

I have the previous model and I love them. I've only played one round, but I shot 39 on the back (I'm a 20 handicap). That's a huge difference! I usually shoot 45-48. I'm hoping to be a 10 handicap within the next few months. That's how much confidence these clubs give you. You can literally cut your handicap in half.

Just put my brand new set of HB Launcher graphite shaft irons into play today. I am a senior with a moderate swing speed. The clubs are SO easy to hit. On today's early evidence they are longer than the Rogue X irons they replaced - this is probably due to the weight differences. I am looking forward to the results once I get grooved into them. These are great clubs. Even my slightly sceptical playing partners (all lower handicappers than me) hit great shots with them and had their prejudices challenged. As you said, a lot of golfers could get a lot out of playing these. Thanks for your recommendation.

Had my HB turbo irons now for a couple of months, absolutely love them. The easiest and most forgiving clubs I have ever used, especially in the longer irons. Just a quick update on this, I have now submitted two more cards and my handicap has now been cut from 23 to 19.6 since buying theses clubs. Is that all down to the Launcher irons, of course not, but have they made a considerable contribution in getting me in to a scoring position with just one or two puts instead of the bunker or having to chip on or being at three put range,,,, absolutely !

Have you had hybrids before or always played irons? What is your handicap? Ansd would you say the distanced compared with old set was about the same? And or are the shots more online or forgiving?
@jcjbike4 жыл бұрын
Question... how long of an iron did you play before, and when (if you did) did you replace the iron with a hybrid? And are you hitting this club in a longer iron than you did before... if that makes sense?
@paulaskey15084 жыл бұрын
I had Callaway Rogue irons before. My handicap was 23.4 now 21 but I put another card in yesterday so should come down to 20 something. The biggest difference I have found is the ease in flighting the ball, consistency in distance control and accuracy (far fewer miss hit shots). The Cleveland’s are not quite as long as the same club in the Callaways, perhaps half a club shorter, but on the other hand the carry for each shot is better and my dispersion has dramatically improved. I have the Cleveland’s from gap wedge to 4 iron, in my previous set I stopped at 6 iron and then had hybrids

Mark with a lie/loft machine you can tweak the lofts, and I got money that says you will get the gaps in a much better grouping. In over 35 years of tweaking sets of irons, I have never ever ever found a set of 8 irons that did not need at least 3 of them bent, and many times 4 of them to flush out the set. Check those iron lofts and tweak away....and fix those gaps. Good video.
@leightonp84964 жыл бұрын
Liked one of your comments in a previous discussion on these clubs, if you were designing the best golf irons knowing what we now know and starting from scratch they'd probably look something very like these irons. A huge reason lots of golfers wont even try irons like these is because we have been conditioned to think what a set of irons should look like. I can't wait to see you game these for a few rounds and looking forward to seeing the results.

My dad has been playing these for almost a year.. he broke 80 with them. They launch very high for me so my distance doesn't inflates like you would think but they're very large to look at. If they make you more consistent you should play them.

You went through this forgiveness phase before with the mizunos ez’s. 😊 I think when you get them on the course, trying to play shots that the blades have allowed you to play, is that the soles will drive you crazy. I know that when I go to game improvement clubs, it’s the wide soles that felt so clunky.

Definitely, would like to see you play them on course and actually to see some of your other mates playing them too. So set up an on-course session where you, Matt, Dan and Lester have to play them. I am very interested to see players who swing more down to the ball rather than sweeping. That would be awesome. Plus see them played in different conditions - windy versus no wind, a lot shot-shaping - that would be great. I am intrigued and interested if it can help me, but worried about the look. Thanks Awesome sesssion.

I like the numbers, I like how ‘easy’ they are, but I’m afraid they might have ‘flyers’ written all over them. From the rough or even trying to play a half shot down wind they might be uncontrollable, in my opinion. Still great for a weekend golfer but I don’t see many tour players with this kind of irons, specially on the 100-180 yard distance range. And I believe that’s because of the accuracy they need. Great vid, and yes it would be nice to see these bad boys out in the course from different lies and wind. Nice vid!
