Chiggers, sometimes called berry bugs (though less commonly), are a family of mites that cause patches of small bumps on ankles and lower legs that progressively itch worst and worse over the course of 1 week or more. This is due to their microscopic larva continuing to bite. Affected areas need to be vigorously scrubbed to remove larva or the itching continues to worsten. And will not stop.

This kind of reminds me of the time when a white aide to the mayor of Washington DC used the term niggardly in a budget meeting and two attendees, one white and one black, walked out in outrage. There was a massive outcry about it and the mayor got involved. The aide resigned. Of course it came out that the word niggardly has nothing to do with race but simply means to be grudging about spending. It was just a misunderstanding. But it goes to show that ignorance of the true meaning of a word can be very dangerous. Note: One of the first written use of the word was in Chaucer’s writings.

Even if your hardass of a raid leader keeps you from participating because you died or missed buffs, real life should always take precedent. No matter how much you want to explain it, it doesn't justify it. It sucks, and you're allowed to be upset (hopefully not too much though) for having to step away, but yes, YTA for not doing so. Also, find a new raid group, the encounters do not require all 40 people to have world buffs, especially not the one from turning in Onyxia's head. Hell they don't even require all 40 people to be fully geared, it's primarily coordination around fight mechanics, there werent even many enrage timers back then, it was more around resources like the healers' mana. edit: also if you order delivery and your SO commonly gets stuck in the vestibuke, you keep a delivery tracker up and when it's close, say you gotta get ready to step away so they hold off on pulling. EVERYONE deals with real life, so no, the fact there's 39 others doesn't matter. edit 2: also I don't think explaining the lead up investment to a general community that might not understand it (even among mmo players, raiders are a minority) is an attempt to heavily justify himself. I used to hardcore raid, so I knew where he was going even without it, though his context made me realize how shit his raid leader is, and still find him TA. However, the likelyhood theres other stuff unrelated to this incident is high, and who knows what goes on between them. We can only comment on this one incident presented to us, speculation only leads to forming bias or overthinking.

I lost my husband to WoW. I gave him a month to prove that he wanted to be part of the family (ie cut down on his Wow to when we're not home - ie 10 hours a day and after the kids are in bed) and actually be present when I picked up the kids from daycare and got home from work wanting help with feeding, & bathing the kids and getting them to bed and other housework. I'd generally fall asleep trying to get the kids to sleep, eventually wake up and crawl into bed, then he'd come in at 3am and wake me up to tell me all about his raids. Like WTF? I had to be up to get the kids ready for daycare & be on the bus to work in a few hours. Who does that? He chose WoW. I can't give an unbiased answer. Life was a lot easier without him.

The WoW story I'm going with NTA. It's definitely possible that this is the straw that broke the camel's back for her to get upset but I feel like people are just jumping on it because it's WoW. If we were to change the context to "I was in a meeting with a group of 40 people. It was something we took awhile to get everything organized for and while I was in the middle of a short (roughly 5 minute) thing that I was actively involved in my wife let me know she had locked herself out. In order not to mess things up for the meeting I let her wait inside the building but outside the house in a safe spot during mild weather for a few minutes rather than potentially messing things up for the other 39 people? I could see being annoyed if I was the wife but she's the one who forgot her keys? What if he'd just sat down on the toilet or just wasn't at home?
@Desugan693 жыл бұрын
Exactly that, also he remindet her :,,Don't forget the keys!" and still She forgot them and like i understood not only for the first time So yeah 99% not the asshole I don't play wow but i gues 1-2 player mabey could hold him safe for 30sec and in that time he opens the door for her so yeah 1% a hole

It's hilarious how opposite the NTA and YTA comments are. In a shorten format... YTA cares about... -she was possibly in danger (yes seriously) -he prioritized a game over her -2/3 hours a week is too much WOW time. And NTA says... -he reminded her and she still is that incompetent -its 5 minutes of her time vs a week for 39 others -People hate him because it's a game, if it was sewing, or a sport like baseball, no-one would care. Personally, I think it's clear which is correct. But don't worry, apparently she can't leave because she can't handle 5 minutes without OP. XD

@@Desugan69 It depends on what encounter it was. If it was one of the easy ones there's a decent chance they could work through it without him. However, there are some encounters where 1 person not doing something at a specific time will cause everybody to die and there's nothing the group can do about it. For instance, there's an encounter where a spell is cast on a random player and 5-10 seconds later they explode and get launched up into the air. You have to run out of the group during that 5-10 seconds otherwise the explosion will hit the whole group. There's a small possibility that you could realize that a player is away from their computer and somehow communicate with the other 39 players that everyone has to move instead of just that one person but the odds of the players registering that it's him, communicating that it needs to be done, and everyone moving are extremely slim. That being said I don't know how much I believe that he actually reminded her to bring the keys with her on that particular occasion. The story is 100% from his point of view and that's the type of detail that I could see getting added to the story to make him sound better.

The WoW story is ridiculous -.- Of course if your life rushes by you there is definitely something wrong but in moderation it can absolutely work. I have always liked gaming, mostly RPGs like Persona, KH, Pokemon and stuff My fiance likes games too though more Anno and Civilization and the like We make time to spend quality time together and are both working full time, manage the housekeeping and meeting friends and still have much time for gaming left. Of course this is also because we are lucky to have a partner with similar interests. But OP's wife knew this about him, he surely didn't start after marrying her and her forgetting her key while being reminded to take it doesn't speak for her either. Maybe they just don't fit cause this relationship seems prone to building frustration.

1st Story: once the friend suggested that "jealousy" was the issue for not wanting the doll in your home I would've retracted the offer. That's a red flag indicating something is off. The friend may have had a break down after losing his job. So instead of talking to a human being, he's talking to an inanimate object. I would encourage him to spend his money on a therapist, online or in person, to express his thoughts & to give him constructive feed back.

Gonna comment on the car story. YTA specifically because you tried to HIDE IT. Say he goes to sell it later on and doesn't disclose that there was a minor accident. That could be considered fraud. It's already been repaired and some people wouldn't care about that (I personally bought a car after it had been in a minor accident) but for others, that's definitely a factor to consider. I don't think he could be sued for it but I'm not sure. Still, I'd certainly be displeased if I wasn't told up front about my car being in an accident.

Re: OP with cleft palette & lip... NTA.. it is your body, you do as you see fit. However, writing as a parent of a now 20yo with Spina bifida: my husband & I blamed ourselves for her birth defect. We did everything we could to make our child whole. OP's parents are most definitely feeling that same guilt. They brought their child halfway around the world for better treatment & a better life. They see their child so close to being whole, something they have dreamt of since seeing that little face at birth, & they can't handle the thought of the face not being perfect. What they don't take into consideration is that everything they have done to achieve that perfection has hurt their child inside. The parents need therapy to come to grips with their grief over blaming themselves for their child's imperfect exterior & work harder to repair the harm they have most certainly caused to their child's psyche.
