1) Tell your mom that you took pictures of the outside and inside of your car (even if you didn't), so if she damaged/damages the car in any way, you will take her to court to recoup the money spent to return it to the condition it was in when she borrowed it. 2) Tell her you will disown her if she doesn't return the car in good condition. Is it worth losing her support system & being alone in her twilight years? No one to visit her in the old folks home or hospital. Passing away in an empty, lonely room. All that, because she wouldn't return the car. I'm wondering if the insurance company paid her the money for her car and she decided to spend that money, somehow being entitled enough to think she can steal a car and get away with it because "we're faaaaamily." Or maybe the insurance company decided the accident was her fault.

The point is, the cops won't even take a report until they have that proof because that's what they say. I hate to put it like this, but cops don't give a d*** about. What is an isn't legal? Yeah, it's the same reason you'll find a lot of cops that work with domestic violence like picking up the people and taking them to the Shelter or things of that nature. You'll find that they develop a negative mentality in a victim. Blaming mentality, I've worked with domestic violence. Shelters, and you start to pick it up there like you can tell what type of person it's gonna take to the program and what person. Is going to go back to them ten times and what person is never going to leave. I had to leave that area. Because I just got so resentful and toxic towards people automatically judging them starting to predict what they wouldn't want to do and while yes, I'll admit I was right plenty of times it's more like a bias that forms because of not necessarily the type of people, but even what's available. For those people. And it's also generally a type of income that tend to fall into these repeated patterns. Where someone with more income and more support. Maybe come from a good family that they can't go back to whatever they managed to pull themselves out of it. So it's not necessarily because there are victims of domestic violence that there. Hurting, sometimes it's because they have no other support to get out and even with the distant support of the facilities, you really do need that deep connected support that emotional support that facilities often can't offer. It's not like you become lifelong friends with every person that comes through. And so you see the worst of every situation because that's what these facilities are for the people who are in those really bad situations

Story 2: What is unbelievable to me is that this guy has 1 old car, can't fix his mother's car, but somehow scrounges $8k together to open a mechanic shop with zero clientele and only $200 left in his account. So no display of car or business skills, but he's going to put everything he has into being the owner of a mechanic shop. Why didn't he take public transportation to his shop (or taxi, uber, a friend, etc) rather than panicking? Or go to his mother's place of employment and get the car back while she was working? How is he buying parts and such, paying wages of two mechanics, while he works on the first twelve cars with only $200 to his name? O.o That doesn't make a lot of sense to me financially. When he complains about the check engine light on his car at the end of the update, I rolled my eyes. Isn't that his job? lol

And no, I had almost no self respect because I allowed years of abusive, I let him keep me up late every night so I can speak to him, and play games in an intense military school, and it was only when I failed out of my dream (flight school for the military) that I had enough and sent him packing home (there were many explosive arguments after that. And I still have a video of him saying terrible things to keep me from ever going back.) therapy didn’t save us, trying really hard didn’t save us. He still obsessed over what he perceived was a one sided crush of a man (who never made any kind of move on me) to cause arguments. He continuously accused me of looking at other people (I wasn’t) while he told me other women in our vicinity were hot. Especially mid argument, I don’t want to continue on a tangent. Moral of the story, they don’t change. Our therapist was proud I left him, his dad believes if I left him ‘so easily’ then it wasn’t in it for the long hall. Choose yourself, and then choose to identify these kind of behaviors and early compromises that lead you to behavior where completely abandon yourself and boundaries for someone else. Healing is continuous, but worth it!

Story one ok if Op feels so oppressed and verbally harassed by girlfriend over women friend you have choices 1) dump her keep these gal pals 2) keep fussy girlfriend and don’t have any gal pals. Just whining about it and being put upon is ridiculous. I don’t get this attitude of it’s soooooo horrible poor me! What do I do? How do you function? Like handle work, paying bills and self care? Life isn’t that hard put on your big grown up pants and handle your bees wax!

Story 1: When OP called out that if she could have a male friend, he should be allowed to have a female friend, and she instantly twisted it to "Which woman are you looking to cheat on me with?", that to me is basically a confession of cheating in itself (or intent to at least). That whole story was honestly just pitiful on OP's part, I know feelings cloud your judgement to an insane degree at times but like, bro cmon
