I’ve had mine about 3 weeks Mark. I came from having Harley’s the last few years but the tendons in my left hand have been struggling with the clutch lever. This bike has solved that with the DCT and given me the chance to ride longer distances without painful repercussions. The engine is an absolute peach, smooth, powerful and as you mentioned the fuelling is spot on. Great bike from Honda and one I’d highly recommend.

@Chaz Carrington I’m finding the fuel economy very good Chaz which I expect to improve when the engine is fully broken in. As Mark says about 55mpg, It obviously drops once you get on the throttle over 4000rpm.

I’ve had mine almost a month now and it’s pretty wonderful. I have some gripes, mostly related to the riding position and the suspension, but I’ve also never had a cruiser before. The engine is fantastic, as well as the DCT once you’ve come to an understanding with it. Biggest improvement so far was doing the DCT reset procedure. It made a very noticeable difference in shift quality, smoothness, and timing. Notchy/clunky shifts were instantly gone. Anyone who owns or test rides one needs to try it. Takes about a minute and the video is easily found online.

Just watched this again, Mark. I'm going to sit on one of these in the local dealers. Slightly concerned that the very low seat may make the riding position cramped for me with my 32'' inside leg. But if it does, it would be an easy job to have the seat built up. The Thais do this really well and it's so cheap. The AT engine with the beefed-up crank really attracts me. And I quite like the bike's appearance. The DCT also appeals, then there's the three-litre under-seat storage. Useful for my day stuff. Touring: a sissy bar and the excellent Sissy Bar Duffle Bag slotted over it from R9Kustoms, run by an Australian bloke near Bangkok. I've never had a cruiser.

Was considering Rebel or Iron. I'm 5' 6" and getting a review on any bike from a guy less than 6' 10" is well neigh impossible. Having watched your review I have to try the auto option because, not having ridden for 39 years, I like the idea of re-familiarisation trundling around in rain mode and rewarding myself with an upgrade in power each month. I'd had innumerable bikes in the 10 years between youth and parenthood from ex telegram Bantams to Bonnies, 650 Norton Dominator and an Areil Square 4, so a plodding 5 or 600cc would be boring after a few months. 67 with arthritis I facy spending less time farting about with gears and clutches. P.S Bike manufacturers should be Legislatively required to drop manual gear shifts across every range (with a manual option) ... it would end stupid, confrontational, dangerous and annoying 'rev-bombing' overnight. Mr Angry would have to grow up or be thrown to the back of his seat only to experience involuntary incontinence whilst panic breaking. Wazzocks sorted!

If i was into this type of motorcycle, i belive a Rebel 1100 would be for me. Though i'm not likening the DCT version. I need my clutch lever for my manual gear box. I like the looks, but i'm a "sport/sport-touring/naked bike" kind of guy. The Rebel 1100 is a Good looking, nice sounding bike though. I'd want new tires immediately as the "D" series from Dunlop (for example D214, D222, D428, etc) isn't worth the rubber it's made from. Although with a cruiser it's less of an issue then the more sporty bikes, it's still not a good tire.💖💖👏🏼👏🏼

Hi Mark, that is one lovely looking bike. Must test ride it soon, hopefully 🙏. I’d buy it in a heartbeat, my wife doesn’t really like cruisers 😩 though. Maybe I could talk her into it 😂. I do like the Versys 1000 too though. What are you thoughts on the Suzuki Vstrom 1050 XT?
@markpulling123 жыл бұрын
Not ridden the latest vstrom 1000 but I rode one several years ago ...very good bike and well priced .. lovely v twin engine Regards mark

is it much of a stretch to the bars Mark? I've struggled with Harleys in the past whereas the Triumph Speedmaster's "beach bars" suit me well.
@markpulling123 жыл бұрын
Hi Johnny ..no I didn't really notice a big stretch to the bars ...they kind of just fall naturally into place ,as in you don't have to lean forward for them Regards mark

hi mark just a question for you i watched your review on the yamaha tmax 560 the other week if you had to choose one bike to keep which would you choose the tmax or rebel 1100
@markpulling123 жыл бұрын
Hi Bernard that's a really hard question because both bikes are ace ! The tmax is fun and practical ...but I enjoyed the dct rebel so much I'd choose the 1100 cheers mark
@bernardbrooks1003 жыл бұрын
@@markpulling12 hi mark thanks for the response ,as i ride both i would keep the tmax because of the comfort over long distances ,the rebel is great fun to ride with the dct gearing but it would be a struggle to match the milage i could cover with the tmax having said that my comments are based on my personal age group (mid seventies)

Would you say a 185cm or 6 '1 person is too tall for this bike?

There is plenty of leg room so id say yes :)

I wish Honda would do a stainless steel exhaust for the Rebel models, I hate black exhausts because they look like sh1t very quickly

I ordered a sissy bar for mine 3 months ago and they are still on back order... that's why nobody has one yet... I have the cushion for it, but not the bar itself 🤣

2 grand more gets you the NT. Better range, tech, and much more practical.

Very good review. What's not to like about this bike? Well, for one thing, it's ugly. For another, the 13.6 litre tank is about 6 litres too small, and it has the weight of a railroad locomotive and only one front disc. I have spent years waiting and hoping for a motorcycle with auto transmission and cruise control, and Honda come up with this. Honda have really missed the boat with this one!

Hi guys, FUEL: E10, big no to this, apparently it will work, to a degree, I’ve been advised by a Honda dealership that the best alternative is 99octane, if you’ve been running E5/E10 stop now, and run a couple of tanks of 99octane then get your ECU flashed, the ‘intelligent’ ECU will then read the new fuel and the running attributes will show better performance and fuel saving (unless you’re heavy on the throttle 🤪) a couple of riders I’ve spoken to concur with this, I’ll know in a couple weeks… watch this space..🤓

As a long term watcher of all your reviews Mark , i'm on the fence with the Honda 1100 Rebel , would you have one as your only bike ( big question that i know ) , i think i might Best regards Shaun
@markpulling123 жыл бұрын
Hi Shaun ....at the moment no as an only bike ... because I still like bikes with fairings for big distances but in the future if I was only going 50/100 miles then DEFINITELY !! cheers mark
