I highly recommend Squad 44. It is not the typical "run and gun" gamer's game. It has far more of a simulator feel. its main competitor is "Hell Let Loose", and if you've played HLL and have any sense of WW2 history and knowledge, you cringe almost constantly. In HLL, every country has been balanced so it is "equal". The Germans have Stg44's and G43's galore, and no Panzerfausts to use. The armor model is also "equalized", where the British Firefly has the same armor as a Panther and Tiger (and the Panther and Tiger are far too numerous). Squad 44 is an EXCELLENT game, it does a very good job modeling fatigue, fog of war, weapon efficiency and effects, etc.

I had no idea HLL balanced everything like that. I was planning to give HLL another run, its been awhile. It used to be my main game back at release but it changed & boogie had been trying to get me more into post scriptum (squad 44) & it didn't take long for me to make squad 44 my main milsim. Excellent comment. Thanks.

@@MarkSmith8357 Yeap, HLL is completely balanced. Even the squad make ups have been rubber stamped. The Germans has 1 MG43 in a squad of 10 men, the US had no belt fed MG's in a squad, they had two BAR gunners instead and in HLL they can't even deploy the bipod for SAW role!. HLL puts a M1919A6 .30 cal MG (belt fed) in every squad. The StG44 and G43 should be rare, very rare, and in most cases only the squad leaders should get the StG44. Only the advanced riflemen should get the G43. Also, if you noticed EVERYONE runs the same, as far as you want, with no penalty. In HLL there is no penalty to firing your weapon after running, or benefit from firing while kneeling or prone. In Squad 44 all of that is factored in. The "gamer" will take a back seat to realism, per say.

@@SmokinLoon5150 That's sad. I knew they had no stamina penalty but I thought they would have one by now. I started playing hll a little before launch. The players were awesome back then. At that time we couldn't even vault out of a trench or over a fence, the created openings in the fences & small ramps to get out of a trench. No melee either. They finally added them in after launch. With a passionate & dedicated player base that had been testing long before I came along were great to game with. They knew how & even missing all that stuff I loved hll better than when I stopped playing at update 5 I think. Black matter became a money success & I was happy for the devs only it brought in a casual player base that had no interest learning how to play the game, They just wanted a better battlefield 5 I guess. My heart broke as I watched my favorite game turn to shit. Now new owners who go where the money flows, Its business now, not passion anymore. Too bad. We have squad 44 still as long as their new owner keep there grubby hands off the development part. Good talking to you. We need this on console so bad hell let loose is good but squad 44 goes more in depth and more realistic

They have the resources to make that happen but who knows. I heard that they were told to make squad 44 work & gave them a years funding. If it had the player base they may see money in porting to consoles, everyone else does.

Every game that goes to console just goes downhill. Just like HLL.

@@GarmoGames Almost every casual game or rpg's has all platforms available. Maybe a milsim reacts differently. I don't know, but I do look at statistics. So hll hasn't done well with the console port? I enjoy a few coop shooters like helldivers 2 & darktide. I game with console players almost every day & I'm not noticing any issues but it is a different style of game. I saw a decline in hll before the port to consoles to be honest.

@@MarkSmith8357 those games are more casual though. squad44 and hell let loose could work, but it needs to somehow really not require dumbing the game down per say for lack of better words...

@@GarmoGames Agreed. When I saw hll come too game pass I couldn't see that as a good fit & not a benefit to the players. a good $ day for corporate tho.
