I did your programs for kettlebell and club a couple years back. Amazing how fast I got into shape. Thank you. Now, starting over, it's hard not to go back to more advanced. I swam in competition all the way through college. We would do basic drills to improve techniques. More often as we got better. I am starting with your beginner drills.

I remember this was one of the first kettlebell exercises I ever did. I purposefully avoided anything I thought might smack my forearms as a novice and the kettlebell swing until I grew comfortable with just holding onto it. I remember doing things like this, the bob and weave, deadlift, squat, side lunges, stir the pots, and bottoms up presses with really light weight. It helps to see that I need to work on my elbow bend with this warm up drill as I'm still guilty of doing that.

Need to add these back into the rotation (pun intended). These were a big part of my warmups back in the summer of 2020 when I first found your channel. I worked up to 25 each way with feet together and 25 each way with feet apart. I had some low arches to fix. I even did them on the concrete floor of the basement away from the puzzle mats I typically workout on. The exercise would then go to inside pendulums, outside pendulums, inside circles, outside circles and cross body front cleans, 10 each side. I didn't have a club yet so I had to practice those patterns any way I could. As this progressed as well as the other workouts, it became less of a warm up and more of an exercise on its own.

New to your channel & training. Completely impressed with the depth of your knowledge and instruction. Thanks for sharing this drill. I’m committed to getting in far better shape and want to master kettlebell training. Thanks again.

Check out his older videos -- esp. the instructional videos & those reg. programme design (which is very different for KBs as opposed to DBs & barbells). You won't be disappointed. Easily the best KB related resource on YT!

I have followed you for many years now, and the reason is that I do this is because I can adapt my training weight to my ability yet get the benefit of your tuition. Love that you dont have millions of tattoos, and that you are respectful and deliver your message clearly. I’ll put today’s video into the next workout. I was deadlifting 32kg and incurred a stress fracture in my leg. Old Osteoporotic Bones I guess. Now back at the gym after Covid plus a couple of weeks of feeling like death warmed over and celebrated my 80th birthday 3 weeks ago. Doing ok.

Hi Mark, if you are going to show the figure 8 exercise next, can you please include your opinion on whether one should attempt to stand up fully, engaging the glutes at the top, or just partially stand up after passing the kettle bell between the legs? Thanks.

These are awesome but if I use a heavier weight like I want lol I start get tendinitis pretty bad.
@MarkWildman2 жыл бұрын
That means you need to start with a lighter weight and allow time for you tendons and ligaments to catch up to the strength of your muscles. Get an adjustable bell. So you can make smaller weight jumps so you get better adaptations
