Absolutely the best and most precise kettlebell instruction on KZbin. Concentration is key. His points on learning how not to get hurt are valid. Thank you Mark.

Thank you so much, Mark! Really appreciate you breaking down the exercise, repeated reminders on every step of the movement. It really helps as I start with no kettlebell and just trying to familiarise with the movement. You are the best kettlebell instructor on KZbin!

The instruction and insights in your videos are truly incredible. Having lifted barbells for over 45 years I am now embarking on a kettlebell routine. I was thinking that I could immediately begin two arm two kettlebell clean/presses/squats. No! I see the incredible wisdom in training each side. Aside from two arm one kettlebell swings, I will only be doing one arm one kettlebell movements, including cleans, presses, and squats, for each side. Maybe next year I will consider two arm two kettlebell exercises. Maybe. Maybe two years from now. A foundation must be established first. Thank you!

By accident, I started to do kettlebell cleans differently recently. From rack position, I initiated the clean by driving that shoulder back as if I was gonna throw the bell like a football, casted the bell out and slightly offset from centerline as if I threw it, connected my arm near the groin area like before, stood up to rerack it and continued on as one fluid movement. It's even fun to add presses from this shoulder back position. A part of me wanted to almost march in place when I did the press but I left the feet anchored to the floor. Maybe next time 🤓. It's just interesting because I think moving the shoulder back (by rotating the spine basically) encourages your hand to be closer and in better position with the shoulder in my opinion (so far). I think it helps with catching in rack position. I think it helps with pushing the bell out since every now and then I goof that up and slightly "jolt myself" (it doesn't feel fluid) when I initiate the bell's travel down towards the groin area. And, most importantly, I think it's fun 😄

Hi Mark, your videos are outstanding, thank you! I was in a KB class last night and we did clean and presses and at one point did some KB jerks..they were really cool IMHO. Do you have any videos on them please? What do you think about them in general? I want to build to a snatch in time but I'm not ready for it yet...

Start with one, Wildman adjustable completion kb from bells of steel. Proper training with make you more symmetrical. After a year or 2, by a second Wildman bell. Then you have more weights than you will ever need

The 35lb kettlebell is the gatekeeper which leads to the 53 and 70, and if enough effort is applied then the 88 and the 106 💪

I'm still swinging a 10lb club and Mark often recommends 15lbs as a starting point for guys so, I get what you are saying. Not sure about you but I know I am brutally deconditioned and obese so I tend towards the lighter side the recs. (I also have a terrible time staying motivated and I have "started over" several times over the past 3 years or so).

@@stevekubien6680 I understand where you're coming from. You can really try & give it your all, but when you don't see results, it's a demotivator for sure. It's hard to stay with it when you don't see the results within a month or two. This is where the saying Trust the process comes from.

I sometimes see people doing a triple extension of the ankles, knees and hips of the same side they are pressing the single kettlebell. Does this qualify as a strict C&P?

I see little/slow hip action when the Clean is executed, is this intentional? Happens to me as well.. but feels like a bad movement. With full/explosive one the KB tends to go too fast and high, banging my hand and chest, so I adapt when I'm tired, and make it less intense and slower, but my hamstring take the toll.

Hi all... all of the exercises require the competition kettle bells.. MW is a stckler about that.. is there any way to use the more common old style kettle bells? I'd have to toss all of the ones I have except for the ones so heavy I just use them for deadlifts... thnx
@kevinorr6880

Every one of these exercises can be done with the traditional bells. He just prefers the comp bell. The comp bells are a relatively new “innovation” in the kettlebell world. Keep your traditional bells and enjoy your progression!

@@kevinorr6880 thanks man... it's just that he harps on just those exact positions that can't be done w/ traditional bells... like never bending your wrist so the bell doesn't hit the back of it... the wrist has to be straight at all times... and how that's important to all future development.
