Funny, before the expansion I wasn’t sure if the base game was enough to justify the Classic edition price (the Essential edition isn’t better imo given the cardboard options, but $40 more to upgrade some components that are so small idk), now this expansion adds lots more which is neat, but the price of everything man, still tough to pull the trigger. It’s a shame because I like Queen Games weight and play of games, the loads of little modules you can add. I would consider Marrakesh, Vienna, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Merlin & Alhambra big boxes, it’s a lot!

The camel races seems way too much… diverting attention from the main goal of the game: filling your player board. The nomads and player powers seems excellent.

It’s fair to say that Marrakesh will likely never need any more expansion content after this. The camel race does divert focus, but I think that’s the point. It’s good that all of the expansion is built as modules though, so it’s a “use what you want” sort of experience.

@@meeple I decided to pass for now on this. I know it will be good but with shipping, the expansion is 75$!! I’m sorry but I can get a good deluxe game or grail game for that price.

My mind is boggled that anyone thought this game needed more stuff to do in it. It's already so loaded from the base game and the mini-expansion they included. After watching till the end... I admit I would like to have the solo mode, but I don't think the whole expansion is worth getting for that alone.

It's funny how a lot of folks criricize Kickstarter for being 'just'a preorder system and a bunch of other folks criticize that Kickstarter is *not* a preorder and has risk.

Queen Games is a greedy profit-maximising publisher and they have realised that Kickstarter backers mostly have a willingness to splash out more money for their games and spend more on their average game. Hence Queen Games is tapping that customer pool with their overpriced and cheaply produced games.
