I’m so glad that Marcus and Angel spoke about marriage not being hard for them because all we hear about marriage is that it’s hard work. I do not subscribe to the idea that marriage has to be hard for everyone. If you both are whole, healed, & committed to each other, why would it be “hard”?
@stacysummers33472 жыл бұрын
I took issue with them saying that because for the rest of the interview they talked about all the reasons marriage IS hard even to the point of them going to therapy. Seven years in I can say that marriage is hard no matter who you are, but hard doesn't mean it is catastrophic or abusive.
@ItsJustDiggs2 жыл бұрын
@@stacysummers3347 Good point. I took what they explained as that it takes effort to keep it going well. Something can require effort in order for it to work, but not necessarily be hard to deal with.
@Talisa36362 жыл бұрын
@@ItsJustDiggs 100%!!! Effort is great even if you don’t want to at the time. I think marriage can stretch you in a positive way if couples let it. We do get the message of “hard” a lot more in society. Very refreshing to see a different take on it during an interview.

I love this community I see getting built. I remember when Kev was some funny Christian on the Internet. I heard of Kevin Samuels randomly and when researching why he was so controversial, I found Hafeez Baoku and the Roommates. That lead to Anthony O'neal at the table. Simultaneously I randomly found Tanksley Tv, and was surprised to learn Angel was Tank's wife whom I'd seen a few times in some Kevonstage productions. Then I learn about what Beleaf and Yvette Henry have going on, through his brother in law A.O., and I watch an interview with Kev and his wife. Now a video with Tank and Angel. I love seeing us supporting each other, putting each other on, and congratulating each other. If you thought you were just working and trying to be successful for your families, know that you all are doing a whole lot more, and glad that you're keeping God in the middle of it. Keep going, keep growing, and passing the torch!

Angel and Marcus said marriage isn’t hard and I think a lot of things they have explained not only in this podcast but in all the others are in fact hard… we may not like the word “hard” but hard doesn’t and shouldn’t detract from the fact that it is still beautiful and worthwhile. Bought the book and loving it so far.
@brittanybrown59502 жыл бұрын
Everything Angel and Marcus described to me sounds like hard work especially around the 30 to 35 minute mark. They just appeared to be disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing when they said marriage isn’t hard. Marriage is hard but if you put in the work and time it is very rewarding.

When they asked “Do you agree that marriage is hard?” And they said “no” I was like finally someone said it!! I’ve been married almost 10 years so I’m not as seasoned but I know a lot of married people who don’t think marriage is hard. It scared us because we kept thinking we’re doing something wrong because we don’t have a lot of these issues. We’re just both super easy going people. I think personality has a lot to do with it. We also come from a different culture so our perspective on marriage is a bit different. It always bothered me that they just made this blanket statement and it seemed like they cherry picked people that agree with them so I’m glad the Tanksleys offered a different perspective (although they contradicted themselves later on🥴) I love these two couples and every time they get together there’s so many gems that’s dropped.

It’s good to know marriage isn’t “hard” for everyone. Especially since thats what we always hear. Even if they go through a “hard” season in the future (prayerfully not) it’s good to know that some people can be married for as long as them and not go through common trials. Lesson regarding that question: every marriage is different.

10 minutes in and I love this dialogue!! Marcus is truly a servant to his wife when he says he hurts if his wife hurts♥!! THat is extremely unusual in the day and age we live in with all the narcissism and entitlement. I feel certain it's why their marriage is not "Hard". I just love this conversation ~ especially the laughter!! BUT.... when they are laughing, it hits my ears so hard I have my finger on the volume button and turn it way down. Then when y'all are talking, I can't hear what your saying and turn it up really loud---Not sure how I will get through this convo. :/ Solution: sound guy, use your controls to work this out --- loud then soft then loud then soft --- can you even it up??
