Just watched your video and I can only say please don't give up on camping. The memories are more valuable than the time it takes to prepare and clean up afterwards. I'll never forget teaching my girls how to ride their bikes without training wheels on a dirt road in the mountains. I'll never forget teaching my boys how to clean a fish. Or all the jokes all 6 kids made while cleaning the black tank. Now that 5 of 6 kids are out of the house, we still discuss our camping trips as we make new ones each year. It can be a pain, but you'll get your rhythm and it will go so much better as time goes. Best of luck to you and your family

Yes, I agree! I have 6 kids as well ... only one in college right now ... but we go tent camping every year and I much prefer it over luxury hotels. Honestly! This year we are going to Kentucky for spring break so our camping trip turned into a cabin trip because of the nighttime weather and small children. But we are doing ALL the day time camping fun and hanging around the fire pit each morning and evening after exploring the local caves. I recommend tent camping to all my friends ... but they all own RVs and won't try it! Haha

Future camping tips and great ideas from this video:😃 1.) The shower/toilet tent is an awesome idea! My fiancé and I with our 3 fur babies just returned from camping (4 nights/5days) in a tent and I cannot tell you how excited I was to take a shower were I can move my arms. (We were using my moms camper shower) I’ll definitely keep this on my list to purchase for future camping. 2.) I loved the kitchen and dining area but maybe look for something bigger were you can have everything in one area. Less to take down the day you leave. And I suggest using a shoe organizer that you typically hang up in your closet by Velcro and store all of your kitchen/dining items in one area away from the ground. Also with your kitchen/dining area under 1 canopy, you won’t be running back and forth if it happens to rain ☔️ 3.) Anytime your camping, try to put your tent under trees as much as possible. This will keep your tent cool throughout the day especially when it’s hot. Also try to keep the windows partially unzipped during the night. It will get cold but it will help keep your tent cool during the early afternoon hours. 4.) it’s always good to over pack then under pack when it comes to clothes. Always be prepared for random weather changes. 5.) Portable battery packs and small generators are great to have while camping. 6.) Spraying the outside of your tent every night with bug spray will help with those annoying mosquitoes 🦟 And above all have fun and relax😄 Camping can be stressful but it’s also nice to be away from city life for a moment. I hope you have more camping videos in the future! And also a video on how you organize all of your camping gear when not in use😁

Every time you go camping, you will learn better ways to pack, store, set up etc. We've been camping for over 12 years now and boy we are still learning. The first times we also were putting away stuff for days. Now it's done in one. One tip is to buy things especially for camping, like your utencils and store those things together. You can do that over time.

I know it seems like a lot of work, but the kids will have the most wonderful memories from just this one trip! It is also a wonderful family memory that even you adults will remember and having your parents there is the super big bonus!!! You need do this on and off, but stick closer to home if you're just doing the weekend. Save the 3 hr. trips for the 4+ days of camping! My family and I love camping more than anything, but we do have an rv now. However, my best memories as a child were tent camping and we moved up from there to an rv. I'll be honest we spent more enjoyable family time outside when we tent camped that we do now with an rv. I just now found you channel and I loved this sweet video. It is hard to go camping but really the key is organizing that camp gear so it goes into bins and you just store it when you get home. Then all you need to do is deal with food/drinks that were leftover, if any and do the laundry. Try to take less/need less. Same for traveling. Those kids are never going to forget having their aunt and grandparents camping and that whole feeling of being free. But also see if you can work it so you can get an extra day off for you. It’s not relaxing if you feel overwhelmed when you get home. Good luck - I enjoyed the video so much.

We had a 5th wheel camper. It was a year old and gave us issues every single time we took it out. We got an Ozark Trail tent and have collected gear over the last 3 years. The key for us is organizing everything that we take so that when we are ready we only have to add our food and clothes and geaux! We are in Louisiana 😉 then when it’s time to break down camp, everyone has their tasks and it makes things go so much smoother. So many people talk crap if your set up looks too cozy or nice but it’s all about enjoying yourself and for us - the easy set up and take down means I can bring whatever the heck I want! Awesome video - I’ve been looking out for it since your haul.

Hello, I have a small tip if you don't mind. If you take a piece of rebar about 3 ft you can stake it into the ground about a foot-and-a-half. You can slip the bamboo of the tiki torch over the rebar and it hold it in place. No more digging and trying to stick the tiki torch in to Solid Ground.

We’ve camped for years & years. There’s definitely a learning curve as to what you really need & what you don’t. But it is worth EVERY bit of effort!!! We have the most amazing pictures & memories with our extended family & our children. Spending time with my siblings & my kids with all of their cousins is just priceless. My sweet children are married with kids of their own now & speak so lovingly of the wonderful camping trips we took. I think your sister in a row boat, tied to a string to get her back, is one of the funniest things that I have seen in a long time! For the shower, look for teak or bamboo outdoor shower mats. The water has to drain away. If glamping/building a small village, is what it takes to get a family outdoors and away from TVs and cell phones, then I'm all for it. More power to you. The important part is to have some fun, family together time. As far as doing it again, I would recommend that just your husband and kids go with you next time. It will be faster and simpler as you are now more familiar with the equipment. Take 1/10th of the amount of stuff with you, and it will be more enjoyable and not a logistical nightmare.

This was an eye opener for me. Never been camping but I’m going to start. Bought a tent for one of our local event site. Didn’t sleep in it but it came in handy when rain started. Also it turned into a storage tent for our food share. Lol Yes the Most High sent you guys. Hallelujah

When my dad was in the Army, he would swear by skin so soft for the field, it's the real mvp!

Your dad is correct, Skin So Soft is the best repellent!

Amen, Skin So Soft is golden when in the field. I used it straight or mixed it with baby oil.

I loved your camp setup! It was so nice & worth all the stuff you brought. I especially love your sister & her humor. When she ran through the field, for some reason, I found that to be so calming & serene. GREAT JOB!!

Hey now I love the set up, glad y’all did it, but the city girl in me says no ma’am I need to be indoors at night. But I am living thur you. Family time is everything and so glad I am able to enjoy it with you and your family. Your sister is so funny 😂 😂😂. Y’all are truly great sportsman’s because the first noise I would be out. Yes ma’am you would do it again because we love family time. Tfs be blessed. But you couldn’t do it over the week, it takes time to get back into the swing of things.

I get you girl! It’s kind of like having a baby. You forget the pain and do it again. Don’t get rid of your camping gear. These are happy memories for your kids. They will want to do it again.

YAYYYYYYYY THE CAMPING TRIP !!!!! The Vlog was just as good as I knew it would be !!!!! Those frogs were so loud !!! 🐸. When sis was reeled back in on that boat and then laid down she had me rolling !!!! That was so cute. The camp set up was beautiful. I too cannot take the amount of work to camp in tents. It is a lot easier in cabins. You don’t have to set any tents up with cabins and you have air conditioners and there are beds too.

That was one lucky little fish. 🐠 Always good to teach the kids about 'Catch & Release' It's all about respecting nature nowadays. 👌

Great glamping setup! After seeing your loaded vehicles it reminded me of our trip to Yosemite that we had to rent a U-Haul cargo trailer for all my glamping stuff, lol! I’m an old fashioned great-grandma that prefers staying around the campground cooking instead of walking around so I pretty much have everything needed for a Mexican kitchen. When I needed to make homemade flour tortillas for our large family gathering our neighbors were waiting to be offered some too and like Jesus multiplied the fish and the bread we too had sufficient food to offer to our neighbors too.

I'm thinking if you want an outdoor experience without having to bring all the structures like the kitchen and bathroom tents, you should just rent some cabins on a lake. You can rent a cabin large enough to fit all your people that will have bathrooms and a kitchen and then you just go fishing or walking or whatever outside when you want to. A lot of cabins have central air conditioning so you're not packing like 90 fans to bring. It's a LOT easier if you want an experience like this without all the setup and tear-down. More like staying in a hotel but "rustic-er" if that makes sense.

It may be easier, but sometimes you may want to do it this way. It’s a since of satisfaction you get from completing a challenge

Agree with you D YJ, it’s not always about easier. This is quality time well spent and they are making memories that will last a lifetime!!!!

I was thinking the same thing about the cabin. It just makes life easier and you can move on to the next thing instead of spending days unpacking.
