He was before my time (actually I was born the year this game took place… 94.) So I’ve never really had the opportunity as a lifelong Colts fan to cheer for Fault tearing up the field as a Colt. But I was still lucky with getting Edgerrin James back when I was kid and now get JT.

If you asked the man himself I am sure he has more fun remembering his days in the Gateway City. And the Colts are the ones who traded him so I am sure he is thankful they sent him to the place he won the bowl at. But imagine if the Colts would have been a bit more patient they could have in a few years had him and Manning and the Colts would have been superbowl contenders faster than they were the way they did do it, and probably would have won with Manning sooner than 2006. Being a Seahawks fan the shared legacy of Manning winning and losing a Superbowl both both the Broncos and Colts could be reflected in a shared legacy with Russell Wilson if things go as well in Denver for him as they did in Seattle. Which I don't wish him ill will or misfortune but I don't exactly like the idea of sharing his legacy with another fanbase either, lol. The Rams have much more of a claim to Faulks legacy and even the Colts got rid of him only after a very short stint for some draft picks that didn't turn into the same value he was worth.

Marshall Faulk is a top 10 rb of all time. He had the perfect mix of everything, vision, elusiveness, power, SPEED, catching, route running, pass protection. Not one weakness. The modern prototype. And a 1000-1000 season.

When I was a kid in the 80s the colts were awful but I was a kid… then there was the harbaugh Faulk time… even when we got bad again after harbaugh there was Marshall Faulk.. it sounds lame/outdated but I would pick up the paper Tuesday and see Faulk at the top 10 in rushing and receiving lists…. First time I ever saw that.. St. Louis unleashed him, but those in Indy loved him AND he was just as good in Indy, we were just bad.. he was never not Marshall Faulk, and we may be the only people that remember 😂

@scottst1112

That was Kipers reaction to taking Trev Alberts at 5 over Trent Dilfer. Colts had the 2 and traded up to get 5th pick and took Alberts, a reach in most NFL front offices and sports media’s op Ed’s…. In hindsight Kiper wasn’t wrong in his criticism of Colts front office and their ability to draft and assemble talent and winning football teams. Any pick that lasted more than 4 years would’ve been a better selection then Alberts looking back. Although, Trev Alberts was more of a bust due to his inability to stay out on the field and out of the trainers room then his play…

Indy started an 11 year stretch of first round genius in 1994 when they selected Marshall Faulk. I mean, take a look at this LIST... 1994 Marshall Faulk ⭐ ☑️ ✅ 1995 Ellis Johnson 1996 Marvin Harrison ⭐☑️ ✅ 1997 Tarik Glenn ✅ 1998 Peyton Manning ⭐☑️ ✅ 1999 Edgerrin James ⭐ ☑️ ✅ 2000 Rob Morris 2001 Reggie Wayne ☑️ ✅ 2002 Dwight Freeny ☑️ ✅ 2003 Dallas Clark ☑️ ✅ 2004 Bob Sanders ☑️ ✅ ⭐ Hall of Fame ☑️ All-Pro ✅ Pro Bowl Four of the eleven men are already in Canton. It's only a matter of time before Reggie Wayne and Dwight Freeny join them. Dallas Clark and Bob Sanders were both All-Pros. Tarik Glenn was a ten year starter and three time Pro Bowler. Nine Pro Bowlers, eight All-Pros, and six HoFers from eleven first round picks? Yeah Colts fans should be salty they only got one ring and two AFC titles out of the Manning era. I mean, JESUS CHRIST.

@manuginobilisbaldspot424
@manuginobilisbaldspot424 2 жыл бұрын
The 1993 Oilers were either going to get to the Super Bowl or Bud Adams was blowing the team up. They were losing money because Houston fans weren't going to the Astrodome. They had clinically underachieved, losing in the wildcard in 1989, 90, and 92 (infamously of course losing up 35-3 in the 3rd quarter in Buffalo), and blowing a 15 point halftime lead against Denver in the 1991 divisional round. So that team was a last hurrah...and after winning 11 straight and blowing another divisional game against Joe Montana and the Chiefs, everything must go. Moon to the Vikings. William Fuller to Philly. Sean Jones to Green Bay. Wilbur Marshall to the Cardinals with Buddy Ryan. And many who didn't get jettisoned in 1994, would be gone in 1995.

Terrible decision by Bud Adams to get rid of Warren Moon. I understand that he was getting older, and the salary cap had just come into the league, but replacing him with Cody Carlson was clearly not the answer. Shame, because that 1994 Oilers squad still had a good core group of playmakers together, and they could have made another playoff push. Not without Moon though.

But of course Commander Can't see squat Cody was still given the start next week 🙄 😒 😕
