No yacking and just playing, this is how you demo an amp
@j.reveille68155 жыл бұрын
Here’s a question...asking you because you are most recent comment. What would happen if you put an overdrive in the jumped channel?.. then you could blend that in no ? could be very cool idea. One straight channel one with even more dirt to blend in. Possibilities could be endless with other effects as well in front like that then others in the loop....lol. Just asking and saying.

Now Fender needs to make a 20 watt 59 bassman.
@MrIkesimba5 жыл бұрын
A '59 bassman is already 45 watts. You're not going to notice a difference in volume between a 20 watt amp and a 45 watt amp.

@@MrIkesimba I'm talking about less "headroom" on a 20 watt. More watts essential gives you more clean volume on the same tone stack.

Nice sounds! I play a 1969 50W head, model 1987, and the distorted sound of this is very reminiscent, perhaps a bit more ‘wild & wooly’, at least with single coils. Point is, very close. Gorgeous clean tones every Marshall is famous for. Add the many modern conveniences and this should be a popular Marshall amp. Thanks for your excellent review, dialing tone controls. First rate.

I gave up on Marshall when I stupidly sold my killer 1959 because I was too young to know that I'd spend decades looking for something that had that clean sound. My God it was unlike anything else out there. I currently play Mesa Boogie but this little amp here has turned my head massively and I can actually hear the harmonic richness that I haven't heard since the 80's when I flogged mine. I was massively disappointed with everything Marshall put out after the JCM800 particularly from the clean point of view. That's proper, old school, plexi clean and it's fat too. I must have one.

In my opinion, this is absolutely the best Plexi they ever made. They successfully captured 90% of the tone......it has more useful features.......and it's far more practical. Who the hell needs a 100 watt amp these days anyway. ( Unless you're playing in large stadiums of course. ) I used to own & gig a 50w JCM 800, and later a 100w JCM 900. I much prefer this little Plexi, hands down.
@Stockholm.sweden3 жыл бұрын
Everyone needs a Super Lead. A JMP 1987 50 Watter is also way more funny than this. Use a good attenuator if you can't take the heat of the real thing. These baby amps are for babies.

@@Stockholm.sweden I can already tell you don't know a damned thing about working gigs. I can also tell you've never played ina true working band......or else you wouldn't be spewing such stupid shit. And you damn sure haven't played through the little SV20. Clueless idiots like you think "20 watts is 20% of 100 watts". Nothing can be further from the truth. 20 watts rms is a loud fucking little amp, plenty for the loudest drummer & all gigs. 50 watts rms is about 80% of 100 watts rms........and 20 watts rms is about 65% of 50 watts rms. This little SV20 can get your ass evicted from any apartment. The difference is, you can actually crank this amp to get the true Plexi tone without sheering the enamel off everyone's teeth & killing animals. You can't even use a 50 watt amp cranked up to get those power tubes really cooking in the average night club, they would tell you to either turn it down or throw your ass out. Get a fucking clue punk.
@Stockholm.sweden3 жыл бұрын
@@howabouthetruth2157 I did not say the Studio Vintage is not loud. I just don't think it can be compared to a real vintage 100 or 50 watt JMP. If you want the real thing, buy the real thing. FYI I've been working as a pro since 1993. Head of pro studios for 10+ years. Done albums, toured, been a tour leader at Donington Download etc. You want a small cheap Marshall, buy the Studio Vintage. Want the real thing, buy a vintage JMP and be done with it.
