Bailiffs, please come on over to the USA, but make sure you know your options: 1. mauled by dog 2. shot by owner who will not go to jail because it's justifiable homicide under self defence 3. escorted off by police who mostly don't put up with this type of thing over here and arrested for trespassing. We will dedicate each of your arrests to a poor UK victim you harass.

Some of these bailiffs in UK have the backing of the high court. It would be like allowing your dog to attack or you shooting a Fed. You can do it but there would be consequences to those actions. A bailiff/sheriff system in the US would obviously work differently. They'd have Fed badges and be accompanied by local or State police due to crazies who would want to shoot them.

A few years ago, I had bailiffs at my door over a debt owed by a previous resident. Trying to talk sense to them was like talking to a brick wall. When I barred entry, the police arrived in seconds, and clearly did not know the difference between a warrant and a typed letter. A year later, my disabled wife was punched in the face right outside our home by a young thief trying to vandalise our car. I'm also disabled, but was able to see him off with the business end of my brass-handled walking stick. The police took 25 minutes to arrive from their station barely half a mile away, and seemed interested only in why I was carrying an 'offensive weapon.' When the matter came to court, the thief asked for 4 more cases of assault and theft to be taken into account that very same day - and walked smirking from the court with a sentence of 3 months community service. Some time later, when my home was burgled, the police didn't even turn out - just asked over the phone for a list of missing items and gave me an incident number for my insurers. The law??? For ordinary people, it's become a joke!
@barbaradyson69514 жыл бұрын
Mr McCawber. Similar thing but with a better outcome, a pensioners car was his pride and joy and was in showroom condition. But some rough council house kids were dancing all over it so he phoned cambs police he waited for more than 2 hrs phoned again and waited nothing happened so phoned again but this time said he would get his shotgun within minutes they were there, arrested him took him to court where the magistrate asked the police why it took them so long to respond to his first two calls but took less than a few minutes when he said he would get his shotgun. Magistrate Case Dismisse.

'Shouldn't fall behind on the rent if you don't want to get evicted' type of attitude - regardless of the reasons for people falling behind: loss of jobs, ill health, unexpected bills, etc. One of them took great pleasure in demonstrating the tactics he used in order to encourage people to step over the threshold and then dodge in behind them.

Especially if someone barged in illegally on kids as well the judge might say you shoulda aimed for the head in some areas ive lived LOL

I wish it was like that in Britain. As a woman, we're not allowed to even carry mace or a taser to protect ourselves in public places. They're even trying to ban knives now, wtf. I do Brazilian jujitsu, but at the end of the day i could be the best in the world but there is no way I could overpower a man if he decided to rape me. It annoys me so much!

@@leftovermonday1642 Not just a matter of self defence being criminalized at the moment of the attack, but also the fact that if you are raped there is a 0.00000001% chance of your rapist getting locked up, but a 99.99999999% chance that you'll be forbidden from having a consensual relationship with me. Don't agree with beardy in the vid , but due to my mothers death, I and my 2 siblings rented the family home the market wasn't great and the rent would pay for upkeep and improvements to the home, long story short 5 k into house before its rented and it's brand new looking, 14 months later having collected 4.5 months rent 4k they stopped all contact and refused entry and destroyed the house leaving a leak for 8 months (their homemade plumbing handywork) and countless damage in top of it When ye see some of the vids its wrong as I struggle with a mortgage the same as everyone else, with court cost and property repair adding nearly 25k, still had to pay the tax on the rent and incur further costs to prove we were fleeced and weren't given the other rent. I had to be talked out of dragging the fuckers out with a friend as I'd get jail for that, so it not all 'oh bailiff kicking the poor unfortunate out', I have a friend who lost his apartment after moving in with partner , no rent paid in his apartment in paying 1400 pm mortgage his new home can't afford the apartment mortgage on top of that and new baby to consider, banks reposess and hes on the hook for 40k because of the process, had he sold at value he'd get 160k he still owes bout 105-115 so he will end up owing money on that property when bank sell it, when he should have 40k after finance is repaid. It's disgusting to be in that situation because a contract a person broke still gives them rights and void yours. I know it's a long one but not everyone is a cruel landlord kicking out single mothers and shit, some people are at their wits end with the threat of losing their property and having to pay for the privilege and will probably struggle to ever get credit again, the scummy prick that cause that moves on ignores all the letters saying 'you owe 10 grand rent mate' and moves on to the next person to fuck over!
@bel68916 жыл бұрын
Exactly , I have no time for that shite, we gave you £500 finance for a tv now you owe us 2 grand. Like with the house, I wanted that home my plan was to leave it let a couple years and being upkept and to buy out my siblings, it's laughable really the optimism i had, said ok this all pans out I've about 40-50k mortgage and new extension in the house! Same happened to a man i know bought a house across from my partner out of his retirement money and a small re-mortgage, no rent comes in he's financially crippled and his wife gets cancer and this well to do man is borrowing from his sister to pay the bupa/vhi insurance so his wife got treatment! Think the guy was czech but called my partner a 'cunt' cos she asked him to have his guest move his car and she wouldn't let me go over, few weeks later he's trying to murder his wife/gf in the front garden so i said 'fuck this cunt' instead of licking his wounds and movin on he got his mates down and needless to say they won't be keen to defend him again. When I was made aware of the situation he put poor auld tommy and breda in , myself and my best mate had him out in 3 hours wasn't very legal but it worked, so you can imagine what I was like when it was my money being pissed away!
@bel68916 жыл бұрын
Ha jesus i know I've said enough but you see these guys wanting to stop debts form child benefit, a 400 loan from quic quid turns into 3 grand with fees and shit, someone owes you say 10k rent that does not suddenly become 50 you don't get €100 for every letter you send them you can't add €250 call out charge everytime ye go there, and you send court collections it's goods will not cover debt or payment not viable so not once will joe soap get wages or a benefit garnished!

Had a "Bailiff" (debt collector) come to my door some years ago looking for my recently deceased husband. This moron was chasing an aged debt, a small one. He was a big man, over 6ft and very broadly built. He tried to intimidate me by leaning over me. I'm only 5ft tall and very slim. I politely told him to wait (didn't tell him my husband was dead), closed the door and locked it. Got my husband's death certificate. Opened the door and handed him the death certificate. I said to him "If you want to speak to my husband, you'll have to hire the services of a Medium". As he read it, it was like watching a balloon deflate. I kept a straight face. He turned to go. That is when I lost it. I yelled after him that he was breaking the law as it was a Statute Barred debt (and had been for years) and chased him up the path. It was the funniest thing to see this bully take to his heels and run up my path, run down the pavement and jump in his car. What a coward! My parting shot to him was "And learn to close the effing gate!" He thought he could bully and intimidate me. He picked the wrong person. What he didn't know was that I would have been more than capable of physically throwing him off my property had he persisted as I'm highly trained in the Martial Arts and hold a high grade. My advice to people is to learn your legal rights and be prepared to use them. If there's two things I hate, one is bullies and the other bailiffs/debt collectors and bullies and debt collectors go together.

I had to take out a small claim which he ignored and I won. I'm now going to have to send bailiffs to get my money. I consider him the bad one here. I think everyone in the UK has had either solid evidence of a criminal act that could lead to a prosecution ignored or needed police help and been let down. People don't bother to report crime unless for their insurance. Half of all burglaries are 'screened out', they're not even investigated. Against this backdrop, millions have been spent on wrecking lives investigating crimes that never occurred, e.g. on the word of someone called Nick, (ffs) or on community initiatives where police attempt to 'build bridges' with those they should be arresting. I had a car stolen and police filed it as NFA. Minimal effort would have caught the culprit. Different story in situations like this however, then they always seem to turn up in force.

Unless a balif has a warrant of entry he can only enter a property by peaceful means and to be fair he did. The property owner or tenant can remove the implied rights of access to the balif and he therefore can not enter the property without entering in to contract of access. Were a fee of entrance is payable upon demand. Also if children are at home alone balif again can not enter the property.
@stevenwhiting14246 жыл бұрын
Only high court enforcement may enter a property by peaceful means of entry and sometimes use reasonable force to enter once confirmed debtor owns the address or lives at the address. Bailiffs do NOT have this authority, also keep your door locked as the law sees and unlocked door as insecure.
@madmalc68536 жыл бұрын
Wrong. Enforcement Agents enforcing a warrant from a magistrates court (ie a criminal warrant) have the authority to force entry.
Steve Whiting as far as im aware, they can never ever use force to enter a private residence. In what situation do you think they could?
@kingcigonas24946 жыл бұрын
High court means a judge ( in court has issued a warrant) if so, they can do what they like. But 9 out of 10 bailiffs will turn up without a warrant! Which means they are breaking the law( but stupid people let them in their house, then its too late, you can't throw them out. ALWAYS demand to see a signed warrant. If they won't show it, just shut the door and ignore them until they go away.
