Y’all must not know about addiction and codependency. It’s a spiraling cycle that is almost impossible to break. They probably do truly have love for each other but their love has turned toxic. I've went thru similar situation. Me and my daughter's dad were on the streets for 3yrs addicted to drugs. It's very hard getting clean but especially with a partner. One is ready to stop some days but the other isn't, but u don't want to leave the other out there alone on the streets so u stay. It's a bad cycle. Thank God there came a day where we were both ready and we got out.

when I hear her speak I can feel from here how she is overflowing with pain, suffering, negativity, sorrow, despair.. ...But then when I hear Martin/Johnathon speak about how mean she treats him and how she punches him in the face all the time and kicks his swollen injured feet on purpose, well that's so far from ok and it gets to me just thinking about it.. It would be wrong one way or the other, but the fact that he is such a peaceful person who is so emaciated, badly disabled and in a wheelchair makes it so much worse. I mean I don't really know them past a few short clips on here and I know there is always two, well three sides to things really (his story, her story and the truth) but it seems that she has no real heart towards him and only takes care of herself. I don't like to think badly of people and often find myself looking for the good in people when they come across badly but I can't overlook things of these nature, perhaps at least partially due to my own experiences early in life. They say people take things out on the people closest to them and I think this is definitely the case here. I think the best thing they can do is take some time apart and try to get the help they need as together they are just feeding into each others demise and downward spiral. I notice when they are apart Martin seems to snap out of his sombre defeated and broken spirited haze of passiveness and maybe that's what he needs, to stand up for himself so that he can really grasp the reality of the situation and see that he needs to be strong and stand up for himself, that he is worth it but the only thing that matters is that he prioritises his own health and wellbeing before anything else, as without that realisation nothing else matters as he will never have anything until he puts himself and his health first. I have seen so many co dependant and destructive relationships like this between people I know and knew and I have seen people stuck in these cycles for years, even decades until they wake up and realise they have had enough. For example, one couple that comes to mind as a strong example similar to this, maybe not with all the violence but otherwise very similar, they were together for so long and homeless for over 10 years going around in circles between the streets and prison, well they split there around 2 years ago and they are both clean now with new partners who don't use, they have homes, the guy is working and the woman had a new baby. If they had stuck together they would be either still in that situation or possibly dead by now so when I think of Martin/Johnathon and Latanya I really think they are stuck, and to move forwards they need to want to change, but I get the feeling they would probably stand a better chance without this toxic relationship.

Oh my gosh, when LaTanya cries I believe she is very sincere; however I’m so angry at how she abuses Martin who’s disabled, but I’m also sympathetic towards her because she’s going through something mentally that we / I don’t understand. It's like he said, she said Both of them are trauma bonded. They have an abusive bond to one another. They need to let each other go. She's got major depression & ptsd, it's obvious she's been through so much. She may carry some resentment towards Martin in some way... but either way space between them so they can grow as individuals would be healthy. Martin & LaTanya both need to find who they are as individuals, find their own happiness, find what makes them happy, hobbies, music, food, become parents to their kids again. 13 or 14 years old is a pinnacle time for us. In my case, I started smoking pot & cigs at 13. Next I tried acid at 15 and tried coke at 17. Of course there was alcohol in the mix. Later in life I got on opiates and eventually I was shooting heroin. I have been clean from all that lt bs for 5 years now. And I honestly believe that if I never tried pot, it wouldn't have made me so curious about the other drugs out there. And if I could do it all over, I never would have tried anything at all. Today I still smoke pot lol but I've left the other bs behind me... and life is SO MUCH BETTER!!!! THANKS FOR SPREADING AWARENESS...KUDOS MY FRIEND
