Yes. Being a victim of spousal abuse I love Broken Wing. It gave me the strength to get out. I love to sing it at Karaoke, especially since I was FORBIDDEN to sing by my husband. (I have quite a following there! 😁) Great reaction! 🥰🥰 (I can sing this song, but the video always makes me cry. 😭💔)

The message is that even through the crap of life~ there is a guardian angel with us. It was meant to bring awareness in child abuse. According to McBride, the song is based and dedicated to her niece who was abused by her mother (McBride’s sister) and killed at the young age of 7. And yes Martina has breathtaking beautiful eyes!

That little boy was her guardian angel. You thought they were next door neighors but he just simply appeared in that room to talk to her from that window. That little girls mother beat her to death. Then it cuts to her funeral. He walks through the people and sees the little girl who is now a ghost and he hugs her and carry her to heaven and there you see other kids who have died from child abuse befriending her. So she has flown to a place where she is loved. She's in heaven now and happy and loved. Oh and yes Martian's eyes are really that blue!

This song was based on a real event of a little girl that passed away from abuse. The little boy was her guardian Angel that was there to help her through what she went through and to see her through to the other side to make sure she got to heaven, the other children are those who sadly suffered the same fate that she did. But the little girl that this is based on is based on a real tragedy that happened the little girl was abused everyday by her mother, until her mother went to far. It’s very sad but she is a master at making sure to bring awareness to things that happen. ❤😢

This song always sends you through the emotions first you are sad for the little girl because she definitely doesn't deserve this no one does but especially children 👌, then your angry at the person who hurt her and then the teachers and every other adult who seen signs of abuse but chose to ignore it simply because " it's not their problem" then your sad all over again when it hits you she lost her entire life to this and then finally at the end your a tad bit happier for her because although she isn't here and that is definitely sad she no longer has to suffer and she can finally find peace 🕊️ away from a place who didn't deserve her in the first place... That teacher should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. She is a mandated reporter, meaning if she even SUSPECTS a child is being abused, she is not only morally obligated to report it, she is legally required to, punishable by jail time if she doesn’t.

You are correct. You'll notice in the video that the only thing the little boy interacts with is the girl. Even the room he is standing in during the window scene is dark in contrast to hers that is lit and shows signs of it being a child's room. You're also correct in saying country music can be dark, despite the jokes about the genre being about our dog, our trucks, and our girlfriend leaving us. A music video I would recommend would be Garth Brooks 'The Thunder Rolls' or 'The Dance'. Both songs have deep meanings, but the music videos take it even deeper. You'll have to find the music videos with a Google search, though, because none of Garth Brooks' stuff can be found on KZbin. It's worth it, though. I promise you that.
