I have to agree. I have loved this man's singing for many years. What makes him so great is that he has a tear in his voice and sings from his heart. This man was very smart too. He knew several languages and played the piano and the guitar. Much of what he did was self learned.

When I was a teenager in the mid-60's, I would stay up till midnight every Friday and Saturday night to catch Marty do the last segment of the Grand Ole Opry on WSM. One of my favorites - then and now.

I saw Marty at indianapolis in I think 1982 he passes away a little after.He loved the crowd we loved him, the Coliseum people got mad he actually took the cloock off the wall and cranked it back a cpl times then said "Oh we got PLENTY of time":). Never be another Marty Robbins RIP

Last night as I was driving Merle Haggard home from his concert in San Francisco a Marty song came on the radio, he ranted & raved about what a great singer Marty was " No one in country music today can sing that good" !! I believe him to be right !

Saw Marty Robbins in Toronto I guess about 40 years ago They put him on last because he didn’t go by the clock and would continue his performance as long as his audience was there enjoying his show No matter what the time schedule was He was one of the Best no doubt

This song was on the first 8 track cassette (remember them?) of Marty's that I bought in 1971. Still have it although the case melted in my car in the summer of '76 (remember that?). This is one of my favourite songs of Marty's although, of course, he can do no wrong. Thanks again, Tarquin, for sharing these songs.

When I was a kid my mother had us all sit down and watch Mr Robbins on the tv one particular night and explained that he was ill and this was his last TV performance.. ever, we all new mom liked him very much , so as the performance was winding down the executives were trying to wrap up the show and Marty would not stop playing...it went on for a while until eventually they went to commercial … Absolute joy to watch that night , thanks mom...I remember it so well ..RIP...Mr Robbins.
