People have high hopes with Dzire. None of the Sedans is able to sell even 1000 cars a month, whereas Dzire sold 12000 cars last month. This reflects hope. TATA buyers are deeply shocked with new Dzire which as per their narrative was a tin can. TATA is losing the market fast. TATA has fallen behind Maruti, Hyundai and Mahindra to slip to 4th place. TATA has to realise that they have to bring better cars in the market. The baseless narrative of 5 Star safety stands hollow now.

Tata doesn't really compete in sedan space at all.. Tigor usually is being used in electric cabs.. Tata has other strengths.. Maruti got 5 stars & its a big step in the right direction.. Tata just needs to bring their reliability game on track.. As a back to back tata user as my secondary cars ( Tiago & Punch ), the only thing i see is the maruti mechanicals are really top notch.. The clutch assembly practically lasts forever whereas i had to get it replaced it in my Tiago @ 50k kms.. I don't mind the slight unrefined engine cz the only time u feel that lack of refinement is when u r standing idle. When the car starts moving, it dissappears.. Also did a Noida to Bangalore on my Punch which was fully loaded & never felt that its as underpowered as the social media portrays.. & all of this when my primary car is a Ford Diesel.. if i find Tata cars acceptable inspite of using a Ford 1.5 TDCi diesel, it will still fit the bill of many buyers plain & simple

The engine is not underpowered. Most of the time the car has to be used in a city with congested traffic, where you don't go beyond 30 - 35 kmph. On highways, the mandatory speed limit is 80 - 100 kmph. The car is good enough to deliver A punchy speed if one is willing to drive sanely. Rash driving is killing 170000 people on the road, every year. If one still craves for a more powerful engine, go for Fronx Alpha Automatic. It has the most powerful Maruti engine.

It's actually not possible, Maruti will never bring a upper mid segment car back because it will not be able to compete with the quality of interior the competition is providing, this is because if they want to bring that car back it has to be built in India and then Maruti will have to use the same interior plastics and the set up they use in their other cars which even they know is not up market and does not compete with the quality Volkswagen, Honda currently has. And using that hybrid engine will drive the cost of the car more than that of Honda city hybrid which is currently the benchmark of decent quality* for the money. If they want to outright beat the competition they will have to bring in a CBU unit under 1000 cars per year rule , the same way Volkswagen brought TROC. But eventually that will also beat the price segment and will be expensive.

Dzire has best in segment efficiency, safety and built quality with 5 stars and stable bodyshell rating. Aura has the best in segment refinement and interiors with a pretty VFM feature packaging. Next gen amaze will have the best performance with VTEC and excellent space thanks to honda's great space management. But it is the Tata tigor 0 worth now, with no standout aspect no nothing, only worth to be discontinued. Reply to Tata fangirl- Dzire does 0-100 in 13.5-14.5 seconds as shown by Faisal Khan, Rushlane, DecodingWheels and CarsAreOp. Far better than Altroz NA's 15-17 seconds and Punch's 17-18 seconds and yet, still provides class leading efficiency. The Tincan Tigor with unstable bodyshell lost its only USP and now has nothing to brag about. It's only worth is to be scrapped and replaced by the other 3 options in the segment.

I think you are wrong about the comment on how the boot does not open when car is unlocked. There is a setting in maruti card which require the unlock button twice to open the boot. This can be turned off in the settings in the instrument cluster.

I have been using Maruti cars for the last 25 years. I have observed that Maruti indulged in extortion at the drop of the hat. Fair competition is necessary to keep all the companies disciplined.When for the first time, Indica (TATA) was introduced, Maruti reduced the price of Maruti 800 by 25000/-. Maruti has been charging exorbitantly for insurance. With the advent of new insurance companies, I saved 33000/- on my new Fronx Alpha Automatic. Maruti has been a torch bearer but we need fair competition in the market. In the last 15 years, Maruti's market share has reduced from 54% to 41% . Hyundai, Toyota, Mahindra and TATA are pacing ahead, which is a good sign. Maruti has set tough standards for fuel efficiency, niggle free cars and after sales service standards, which are very important and keep the industry on it's toes, a good job.

Do a fuel efficiency test on Swift cng 2023 version. I got one. Believe it or not, I'm getting 35.5-45 kms on highways! In bangalore city, the worst mileage I got was 23 kms per kg... The best is 28-31 kms. This car is mind-blowing! I recently drove from hubli to pune with 13.8 kgs of cng and I got 650 kms range! That is around 1400 rupees of cng with which I drove to pune and traveled in the city. Apart from this, I drove out of Pune for nearly 35 kms until I refilled cng. 45 kms just shocked my core. Do a test please.

The new Dzire Z12 has similar behavior to Tata revetrons now. 3 cylinder vibrations and inferior refinement and both engines have bigger stroke than bore. Which explains their pathetic acceleration when pushed hard but people have no complains about city performance thanks to their great low end torque. But Suzuki's weight management still is able to make the Z12 still worth it somehow with excellent milege figures. Tata has to control their vehicle weights really, the heavier tigor still has unstable bodyshell with deformation in A pillar and footwell unlike the Dzire, not great despite of the extra weight. Soon others brand will join the 3 cylinder trend, its not a choice really or the brand's fault, blame the emissions norms which is the real culprit.

@@desidaarghotiyadhokhlasing8175 exactly 3 cylinder is not a choice three cylinder is the future and I agree with you on the weight management part, I also agree with low torque is always better with three cylinder engines, but that weight management on Maruti comes from using very thin sheet metal(nothing to do with safety), the thin sheet metal makes it more prone to dings and dents, lift up any Maruti Suzuki bonnet and you will understand (AGAIN IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SAFETY I UNDERSTAND THAT BUT IT HAS MORE TO DO WITH EASE OF LIVING IN A CITY WHERE YOU COULD EASILY GET DENTS ON YOUR CAR WHERE MARUTI IS EXTREMELY PRONE TO THAT). EVEN THE INTERIOR PLASTICS ARE VERY LIGHT AND THE EASILY ARE ONE OF THE WORST IN THE MARKET ESPECIALLY WHEN COMPARED WITH ANY KIA OR HYUNDAI CAR (Kia and Hyundai are sourcing their plastics from the same company that makes plastics for Mercedes and still they are able to keep the cost good).

Since you are the private owner, remember if you see a cab version of your car, then it proves the reliability and fuel efficiency of the car. End of the day not only you but Cab drivers purchase the cars with their hard earned money, remember they wouldn’t have wished to become as Cab drivers but their life situations have brought them to this extent. As a customer we and the cab drivers are paying and only purchasing the cars, it doesn’t mean that they are receiving huge discounts for purchasing the cars. Both of us are paying an hefty amount to purchase the vehicle. If some Suzuki hater makes fun of the Dzire saying “It’s a taxi car” just reply them as Cab drivers are also humans like us, they ended up as drivers because of their life situations not because of their aspiration. Hope you would understand.
