Salaamun Alaykum Brother (or sister)... Let me try something... If I told you the following three answers to above questions, what would immediately ask of me? 1. Moussa was NOT raised in Pharaoh's palace 2. Moussa did not have a speech impediment, nor is the famous incident with the ember in Pharaoh's lap truthful 3. Moussa was not the one who killed the young man, and the young man was a fellow Israelite, not an Egyptian If I gave you these answers (which are all correct answers, I assure you) would you believe me without evidence, and without a clear methodology, directly from the Quran? Regards

@@MarvelousQuran wa alaikum salaam brother. I am a brother too. As a matter of fact, I would not have accepted anything contrary to what I had been weaned on except that it came from the Qur'an demonstrably and unassailably; and this is why I am enamoured of the your methodology yet feel the frustration of having to cling on in the meantime to interpretations that I fear may be far from accurate - for fear of a vacuum - until I see your parsing of it. It is not the reset of thinking that I fear but the hiatus, knowing that I am not assured of life until you're done. And if I die with a false understanding, what will become of me? I hope you understand where I am coming from. I feel a strong yearning to encounter truths, assimilate them and then venture to help others come to the same. JazakAllahu khairan for all you're doing wa ihdina siratal mustaqeem. Ameen.

Good questions Dr. I am learning from you how to ask questions, albeit using tafsirs which you do not recommend to use. But I am not Arab speaking. I found it interesting the way the Surah is laid out. 2-42 about Moses and Pharaoh 43 Moses getting scripture after destruction of former generations (presumably other Israelites). 44-75 Allah addressing Muhammad saw 76-83 about Qaron 84-88 continues from ayat 75. So, it is interesting how Qaron fits into the Moses-Pharaoh story, because it should fit because Qaron is of Moses’ people. 45-

PS Do take into consideration that the overwhelming majority of us do not speak Arabic and are scarcely able to detect these seeming inconsistencies stemming from the translations except they're pointed out to us or they disagree with our intuition. It thus becomes frustrating when we ask questions and get no satisfactory response. A case in point is when I pointed out to "ilm" which is often translated as knowledge and I thought it odd that certain verses would read roughly: "...so Allah will know - ya'lami lLaha..." This is incongruous with when the Qur'an describes Allah as All-knowing, so I had to check the root word and there, among others, I found "something by which something is known or shown", or words to that effect. I then substituted and came up with my personal rendition, "..so Allah will demonstrate...". Even though I felt better about this, I still couldn't help feeling guilty that I might have altered the words of Allah, and I then fell into agony. So you can understand my relief coming across this channel. Another one is when some translations use "plotting and scheming" for evildoers and the same word in Arabic is translated as "planning" for Allah in the same sentence. My thinking on this has been that since Allah doesn't do base acts, the word "makara" does have to be transmogrified to suit the personality of the one it is applied to. This is hard to get a non-Muslim to understand or accept. However, with these insights you've been giving things are getting clearer and I'm wondering why such parsing had not been done earlier, and whether the "sahabi and tabi'een" actually understood the Qur'an in the manner they are translated today, and if not, where or how the 'missing link' or jump occurred in the understanding of antiquity and contemporary tafasir. At a point in my life, I was given to know that the Qur'an has several layers of understanding - something like the whorls of a flower, getting closer to the essence as you peel each layer. Is this a correct understanding, and is it what is at play now? I apologize for my lengthy message, but for once I feel I can connect with a teacher. Thanks.

Perhaps prophet Moses had a different father than his half siblings, Aaron and Miriam. Moses has a pharoahanic lineage, drawing conclusions from the given narrative and circmstancial evidence. All speculation on my part though. Then again, who would be any the wiser if he was Thotmoses or not?? Very interesting and yet intriguing, to say the least. For question 6, the end part, can it not be that since Musa was appointed to his mother by the pharaoh, she took part secretly in teaching him about monotheism, and Abrahamic religion? And its stories? And wasn’t Musa already aware and told that he was adopted and his own people were not the royals but the Israelites? And for some other questions regarding why Allah phrased a specific situation as it is instead of an easier or common phrase, could it not be that since Quran followed a type of literature that may resemble poetry and rhymes that may have been the reason? Allah knows best. Thank you Sir.

3:51 this gentlemen makes a very good point. Moses had a brother(Aaron) and a sister(Miriam). In quran 19:27 and 28 Miriam the mother of Jesus is confused with the Miriam, the sister of Aaron and Moses. Now i know that there is a hadith that tries to fix this problem by claiming that "people in those days were reffered by the name of their ancestors". 2 big problems, why refer to someone by her ancestor of 1400 years ago? Second problem is, prove to me that Miriam(the mother of Jesus) is from the same tribe as Aaron and Moses. Why do i say that the hadith try to fix this problem? Chapter 3 is about Imran and he is supposedly the father of Miriam(mother of Jesus), when in reality Imran is fhe fathef of Moses and Aaron.

First, let me correct your misunderstanding of the hadith. which is as follows: Mughira b. Shu'ba reported: "When I came to Najran, they (the Christians of Najran) asked me: You read "O sister of Harun (Aaron)" (i. e. Mary) in the Qur'an, whereas Moses was born much before Jesus. When I came back to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) I asked him about that, whereupon he said: The (people of the old age) used to give names (to their persons) after the names of Apostles and pious persons who had gone before them. (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book on General Behaviour (Kitab Al-Adab), Book 025, Number 5326) As you can clearly read, it says nothing of ancestors, only pious persons. A similar hadith is also reported in Tirmidhi. Your 1st problem was proving that Miriam, the mother of Jesus, was related to Aaron and Moses. It is already an established fact that this is the case in the Quran as well as the Bible. According to the writer of Luke, Mary was a relative of Elizabeth, wife of the priest Zechariah of the priestly division of Abijah, who was herself part of the lineage of Aaron and so of the tribe of Levi. As for the verse in Chapter 3, it says, "Remember when a women of Imran said, `My Lord, I have vowed to Thee what is in my womb to be dedicated to Thy service. So do Thou accept it of me; Verily Thou alone art All-Hearing, All-Knowing."' (3: 36.)In fact, there is a tradition to the effect that the husband of Hannah and the father of Mary was named Imran whose father (i.e. Mary’s Grandfather) had the name Yoshhim or Yoshim. (Jarir & Kathir) Thus this Imran is different from Imran the father of Moses and whose own father was Kohath (Exodus. 6: 18--20) The fact that Hannah’s husband for that fact Mary’s father, has been named Joachim in the Christian scriptures (Gospel of the birth of Mary and the Enc. Brit. under Mary) should not perplex us as Joachim is the same as Yoshim as mentioned by (Ibn Jarir) as the father of Imran. The Christian scriptures give the name of the Grandfather instead of the father, which is not an uncommon practice. Besides there are instances in the Bible of one person being known by two names. Gideon, for instance, was also called Jerubbaal (Judg. 7:1). So there should be no surprise if the second name of Joachim happened to be Imran. Moreover, like individuals , families, too, are sometimes known after the names of their distinguished ancestors. In the Bible the name Israel sometimes stands for the Israelites (Deut 6:3--4) and Kedar for the Ishmalites (Isa, 21:16; 42:11). Similarly, Jesus has been called son of David (Matt. 1:1). So the Words "when the woman of Imran" a woman from the family of Imran, or a perfect woman from the family of Imran. It is admitted that Hannah the mother of Mary, who was a cousin of Elisabeth (John’s mother) belonged to the House of Aaron and through him to that of ‘Imran (Luke 1:5, 36) So now the big question is why refer to a woman by her ancestors? In verse 19:27-28 "At length she brought The (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: 'O Mary ! Truly an amazing thing Hast thou brought ! O sister of Aaron ! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!'". In this verse the people around her are chastising Mary by pointing out that she comes from the noble lineage of Aaron and Moses, and yet she has a child out of wedlock! They point out that this should not be expected of someone who follows the Jewish traditions and whose parents were good, pious people. Hope this answers your question
@MU-we8hz
@MU-we8hz 3 жыл бұрын
@@Thatoneguy-mh4bx thank you for your explanation, but you are missing a couple of point. You are right, the hadith speaks about pious people, not about ancestors, but here comes the problem. If the usage of pious people to reffer to someone is the right to do, why didn't the Christians of Najran know this? If that was the normal practise, why we're the Christians confused by calling Mary the sister of Aaron? If the refference "sister of Aaron" was metaphorical, why was the muslim who got the question dumbfounded and he had to go to Mohammed for clarification? Did he not know about this tradition? It seems like everybody is surprissed. Reffering to Jesus as Son of David is prophetic and had nothing to do with genealogy. The book of psalms has a lot of refferences about the coming Massiah. For example, when Jesus hang on the cross he said "My God, My God why have you forsaken me", this is a direct reffernce to Psalms 20. Joachim is the direct father of Mary, you are a little bit confused on that one. As i mentioned before, there are some realy critical errors in the quran(from a historical point of view) and this is one of them. Another one is confusing the Christian Holy Trinity. Saying that Allah, Jesus and Mary are the supposed trinity, that brings also geographical issues along.

Dr hany. I would like to answer the questions you raised based on my understanding thru ur accumulated lectures. It baffles me that firaun claimed himself to be a god. It could be that he insisted total submission to his words. If firaun slayed all israil boys, who is gonna be his slaves? Most likely it was major 'tazbahu' aka castration. As for the females, most likely they were made to work in brothel, aka prosxxxxx. We could say harun, his sister and musa were fathered by different men. That is why musa refers to harun as s'on of my mother'. Letting different men fathering israil women serves to extinguish lineage purity. No wonder present day state of israel recognises maternal lineage. End of part 1.

Inn Shaa Allah, you will fail in your attempt of planting seeds of doughts in peoples minds about QuranMajeed that it lacks clarity and has lots of unanswered questions and leading the people to explore the meaning of Ayat Mutasabihat. Allah SWT has mentioned In QuranMajeed The Qur’an comprises of both two types of verses Muhkamat and Mutasabihat. It is He Who has revealed the Book to you. Some of its verses are absolutely clear and lucid, and these are the core of the Book. Others are ambiguous. Those in whose hearts there is perversity, always go about the part which is ambiguous, seeking mischief and seeking to arrive at its meaning arbitrarily, although none knows their true meaning except Allah. On the contrary, those firmly rooted in knowledge say: ‘We believe in it; it is all from our Lord alone. May Allah SWT protect everyone from your Fitnah Azeem. Ameen

And finally, our mission is exactly the opposite of what you have accused us of: It's not planting the seeds of doubts in the Quran: It is giving people certainty in Quran and rejecting the words of some humans who have defiled the interpretation of the Quran Regards

Theres no arabic pre islamic proof of Misr being egypt. Misr means a big city/fortified citadel in old quran language, Egypt is gupt , aegyptus etc no misr. Allah will not tell fir'awn jut as a title.. its a proper name like ibrahim musa or others. Mixing quran with egypt,palestine and mesoptamia regions is totaly against what quran tells us. Is to fall in nafs mistake again and again. Salaam

yeah that make sense , the Qur'an uses a lot of monikers that are modular in nature. the buddha had somewhat similar interactions within a citadel or a kingdom, i'm not confirming buddhism with the dīn, but every nabiy is tasked to implement the truth in their locution.

that "man", the father in law, is Jethro, the High priest of Midyan, and a follower of monotheism, so he says, by Allah. the other questions are not that important, since Moses' mom was reminded only, and the boys were killed before they married so they were mot yet men. Salaam. ( The Midianites were a group from Abrahman or Noah I can't recall, but God arranged the affair like all things, beforehand)

The story of slave hebrews escaping from Egypt whith Moses is a tale invented by those who wrote the bible. There are no historical or archeological traces of such an event. No traces either in egyptian writings. There has been no hebrew slaves in Egypt, no crossing of the desert during 40 years, no conquest of Canaan. Islam borrowed some tales from the bible, but that doesn't prove they were true ! The judaic monotheism was created much later within the small kindom of Judah.

@@MarvelousQuran Exodus 2 7 Then his sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?” 8 “Yes, go,” she answered. So the girl went and got the baby’s mother. 9 Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the woman took the baby and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named(J) him Moses,[b] saying, “I drew(K) him out of the water.” So in the Bible it tells us a woman is brought to nurse the baby and that woman is acutally the mother of Moses. Now for the part where it says Allah revealed to the mother of Moses she should suckle him. It could be referring to God giving her this opportunity or the Egyptian woman becoming his adopted mother

@@MarvelousQuran we also get quite a bit of incite on pharoh when we look at the bible. Here's some stuff from exodus Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord,(C) that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go.”(D) But the king of Egypt said, “Moses and Aaron, why are you taking the people away from their labor?(G) Get back to your work!” 5 Then Pharaoh said, “Look, the people of the land are now numerous,(H) and you are stopping them from working.” This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you any more straw. 11 Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced(O) at all.’” 12 So the people scattered all over Egypt to gather stubble to use for straw. 13 The slave drivers kept pressing them, saying, “Complete the work required of you for each day, just as when you had straw.” 14 And Pharaoh’s slave drivers beat the Israelite overseers they had appointed,(P) demanding, “Why haven’t you met your quota of bricks yesterday or today, as before?” But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief,(N) he hardened his heart(O) and would not listen During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship(BD) the Lord as you have requested. 32 Take your flocks and herds,(BE) as you have said, and go. And also bless(BF) me.” Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.” 27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place.(AU) The Egyptians were fleeing toward[c] it, and the Lord swept them into the sea.(AV) 28 The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen-the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea.(AW) Not one of them survived.(AX)

@@MarvelousQuran in terms of referring to their woman and not their girls. I think this bible verse explains it and there's a bit more context in exodus aswell. Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile,(AA) but let every girl live.”(AB) So in the Bible it's clear that the pharoh was killing the little boys but letting the little girls live. So the mothers could of also not been safe.

@@MarvelousQuran He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. 12 Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. 13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, “Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”(N) So even in the Bible it says that Moses killed the Egyptian while Moses thought nobody was watching. Aka "when it's occupants we're unaware"

Allāh swt revealed to Moses His name-in Paleo Hebrew: yodh heh wah heh. However, this name does not appear in the Qur'ān. In cannot be claimed that this name, for the reason it is not Arabic cannot be in the Qur'ān: there are non Arabic words in the Qur'ān! Moreover, Allāh is a combination of two words-the definite article, Al=the, and 'lāh' which means god.
