I have to disagree. Melkor was more powerful at first. It was only with time that Melkors powers would diminish. Unable to create anything original, Melkor used his powers to corrupt all that he touched. The more power he put into corrupting took away from his power overall. Eru iluvatar is God of Tolkien's work and I would say is the strongest out of all the beings. Eru iluvatars being God in Tolkien's work created Melkor and Manwe. Look at it this way. Melkor was like Lucifer. Manwe is like Michael. Even though Eru iluvatar doesn't fight but you can conclude sense he created valar and maiar and gave them their power he would be far stronger than any of them. It's a lot to take in Mentallect. I've read a lot of the box and watched videos such as the one on this page and I still have a lot of questions. Some of the things Tolkien never wrote out or never did explain. Tolkiens son found some things that never went into books or found some of his notes but some things well never know since Tolkien has passed.

Once given the secret fire or the power of their own mind and will, we're not entirely sure if Eru has the power to take that away once given. Again, he's not all powerful... above... And he's not all knowing as he has to inquisit while Aule first made the dwarves... asking Aule of his motives and upon hearing of Aule's motives were to have other beings other than himself to teach his lore, and not in the command or master of having servants or others doing as he wants... Eru then and only then decides to give Aule's dwarves the secrete fire allowing them to be free of Aule's will... for when Aule takes up the axe to smite them dwarves suggesting perhaps he should destroy his work of the dwarves so that Eru not be angry with Aule forever... the Dwarves now free of the mind of Aule separate and individual entities, beg for mercy not to be destroyed... and Eru remarks upon that his wish was granted that these creatures have a will of their own, and would not have shrunk from the blow of his hammer nor any will of his command. What played out in Arda was the song playing itself out in physical. The song of the Ainur still reflected in the waters of Ëa. Elves and especially certain Valar were very sensitive to it such as Ulmo. He and a few others understood it the best of them all. They are able to revisit and gain insights by tapping into the echos of their songs housed within the waters of Ëa/Arda! It’s and the eldrich beings that came in on their own accord too some say they born from the discord. Also Eru didn’t make them play each note. They did freely and he put the flame imperishable into it to give birth to what they sang together and now must live out what played out during that Ainulindalë

Melkor had many different forms and shapes according to his moods or intentions. If he wanted to appear beautiful he could, or like a mountain. Near the end he had used so much of his power corrupting Middle Earth that he was trapped in a physical form and could no longer change his shape anymore.

Morgoth will be portrayed in exactly the same way as Lucifer in the series of the same name, though its quite possible that they will gender race swap or even make them they they're genger neutral. Then again the Rings of Power is a sandbox creation with no relation to source material. Its essentiall a D&D adventure inspired by lord of the rings just as lord of the rings inspired D&D. the only difference is the writting of TROP is non existant.
