Thank you so very much for this rare and precious video gift of Steve and Eydie. They starred in many tv specials throughout the 60s and the 70s! I remember one TV special in particular in 1970 called, "what it was was love" with all of the songs written by Gordon Jenkins. They also did an album of the same songs from the TV special . He was a very talented songwriter who also wrote, "this is all I ask". He also wrote the entire songs for two special albums with Judy Garland and Robert Goulet, just to mention a few. Please dear God, help someone release all of the many videos and specials they made. This is such a terrible pity that they are still unavailable... 😟😥🤔😇💌❤️

Ok so he's not quite Sabine Meyer or Richard Stolzman but did no other viewer notice how well Hal Linden plays the clarinet! Big band and Mozart! And he can act and do comedy. Pretty impressive. And Steve and Eydie are great too. And Marvin Hamlisch.. I can think of worse ways to spend 56 minutes and 51 seconds. Thanks for posting this.

Hal Linden studied music from an early age, was trained at NYC's High School of Music and Art (now LaGuardia HS of the Arts) and began his career as a big band musician -- so not really a surprise to those familiar with his background.

Cincinnati TV star Ruth Lyons is responsible talking Steve into calling Eydie from her office at WLW Television asking if Eydie would marry him! Ruth told Steve that they could team up and sing together. And the rest is history. Ruth Lyons loved them both! 14:41

I notice Steve had a hard time remembering Irving Berlin and Eydie had to help him. I wondering if that was the start of his alz.
