I decided to eat only what I caught and found for the last three days! This was probably one of the most difficult things I've done on this channel. If this video gets over 12,000 likes ill do another. I dunno. I starve myself to live I guess.

Good for you, kid. The foraging paid off and I was so impressed by your ethical dilemma over the ground eggs, and you were literally rewarded when to told yourself NO, and right away the mushrooms appreared. That first meal looked awesome.

FYI you can take the asparagus. In fact, its good to take it when its a single stalk like that. It promotes the growth of new shoots, giving more to harvest. Usually the large single stalks like that aren't the tastiest but theyll work in a pinch

we usually go hunting for it in the spring right after a morning rain storm... the big stalks are always a no go but im sure its edible. the big ones when they have all the off shoots like that we call it "weeded out" very bitter, woody and ive also heard that its slightly toxic.

It's actually a common side affect of fasting. Nothing to do with protein vs carbs or fats. What's funny is I like watching these videos but constantly do 72+ hour fasts simply for the autophagy, mental clarity and other health benefits. So it's not really impressive to watch someone complain about only eat a small amount of food for the first day, but I still like the videos regardless.

I am a lady from the country, where people survive in concentration camps by eating mushrooms and herbs, so remember one thing, if beetles eat the mushrooms, it means that mushroom is edible, to remove all bugs, you need to put salt over or put in salty water for a few hours and they good to go.

I'd recommend next time you do this, to have one 'cheat' food in case you don't catch or find anything...like a granola bar or protein shake or an apple. And if you do catch or forage something, that you are able to add one addition item such rice, risotto, or pasta. Also, I'm betting that lack of caffeine was part of the fog you were experiencing. Coffee, water and spices for cooking should be freebies.

I think it’s completely acceptable that you used a boat and didn’t filter your own water. The title was that you only eat what you catch and forage and you held up to that soooo. Spot on dude.

I know this is an old video, but hoping you still read this. Since you're out on your boat alone, in the middle of a massive lake when you film these, if it were me I would attach a long rope to my life vest and to the boat when going slow. When going fast I would always attach my kill switch to my vest or clothing. One boater to another, just want you to be safe.

Thanks for your videos. I just recently discovered your channel so I have a lot of catching up to do. I noticed when you pick your wild leeks that if you cut the root off of the leek and replant it, it will regrow. Its a great way to ensure that there are always leeks where you found them.

Awesome idea to try this out! I love doing this kind of stuff for like one meal of the day but it takes some guts to do it for entire days! I think I spotted some "Miner's Lettuce" next to that "raspberry bush", it can be yummy and of nice texture to use as garnish or just a little "I'm eating something so shut up already, stomach" tool. Keep up the good stuff!

What kind of knife were you using on those mushrooms? You need to dig a lot more wild leek (ramp). And eat the leaves too, I like them the best. Did you save the smelt, from the lake trout? They are very oily, and you may be lacking that in your diet. You could also use them for bait. You should make raspberry leaf tea. I'm about a mile west of Lk. Minnetonka.

I love this apartment! You two have really done a cool job decorating. I wish I had one as cool when I was in my 20's. I have a question about your fishing gear. What was the set-up when you caught that second lake trout. You said the reel did not have a clicker, but you noticed the board. What is the? How do you use it? I am unfamiliar with this type of fishing. I have one more question. With all this expensive fishing gear, boat, and accessories, why did you cheap out on the one important piece to getting a fish in the boat? Does that make sense? I am super glad you caught those two fish. That lake is HUGE, and the fact you caught the first one on a weird set-up for the situation, is a miracle. Good work! Looking forward to the rest of the video.
