I remember being 19 back in 2006 and starting my new job. My dad offered me to go out and eat or watch a movie at the theater a few times and I would decline because I was caught up with something with work. After watching this movie when it came out it gave me a lesson. I started doing more things with my dad before he passed in 2018. Family always comes first.

When I first saw this movie after it came out, I saw how much of my own life was mirrored in the Michael Newman character. It actually inspired me to make some changes in my life and helped me realize that working all the time is thankless, and has no real meaning beyond helping to provide for a family. But providing for a family is so much more. This movie really exemplifies that.

I feel like this is one of the most underrated and forgotten about Sandler movies that he's made, and I think it's heartfelt Sandler at his best. And yeah, I have two kids, so it hits pretty hard, the idea of missing them growing up. I just lost my grandpa and I attended his memorial service today. I decided to rewatch a couple of videos from some of my favorite creators and I ended up watching this video for about the 10th time to feel some sort of comfort. I cried my eyes out when he rewound the grandfather’s last words. My grandfather, due to a brain injury many years ago has not been able to truly communicate his feelings like that to me for so long. I really wish I could hear those words from his lips just one more time. Even though I’m an absolute wreck now rewatching this, I am so thankful to you Mary. You probably will never see this, but I’m extremely thankful that I can come to safe places such as this that content creators/amazing individuals like you are willing to provide. Even though it is unlikely we will ever meet or talk, I am so thankful for people like you who are willing to share their work just because it feeds their soul. I hope that you continue to spread love and comfort the way you already do. Seriously, the heart you put into your work gives people like me a chance to feel hopeful, to laugh, to cry, and to just be able to feel alongside another person when we feel alone. I’m happy that I get to look back on today’s events and be able to say that I got in a few laughs and smiles despite my pain and grief. Thank you so so much Mary. Wishing you all the best 🙏🏼

I recently lost my mom, not too long after my dad. Thankfully I was not often rude or cruelly dismissive of them. I hated my mom calling me every day just to check up on me, but largely due to this film, i always took it graciously. I always regretted when I was a kid and refused to let my mom read Harry Potter to me, which she wanted to do despite my advanced reading level. Ever since seeing Click, I made sure never to take the small moments for granted. But it never softens the sting of loss loss. Watching this after their deaths isn't any comfort. I'm sorry about your grandpa, and I hope you get some comfort from this.

He's one of my best friends and I have so many things to still experience in life that I want him to be a part of so the later scenes with his dad had me crying my eyes out. Loved your reaction, Mary. This film always takes me off guard by how it manages to entertain, maintain a strong story, drag out such emotion, and send a clear message. By the end, you can clearly draw the connections to “It’s A Wonderful Life” and how this is almost a modern remake of it. It leaves you with the same feeling in the end: to appreciate all the greatness you already have in your life. This is a great film.

I used to laugh hard at this movie as a kid, over mainly the very immature jokes, however... Disturbed over the more adult-focused jokes as a whole, especially realizing I had experienced these jokes as a kid. What, however, makes me appreciate this film, is the amazing message at its very core. Yes, it was a comedy with very... Simple and nearly brainless jokes being executed throughout, but for every bad joke, there was some really well-thought-out ones that deserves praise for sure. The real star of the movie, however, is how this could have been a full-on drama, and easily one the most brilliant ideas ever when you view it through the serious lense. It's compared to "It's a Wonderful Life", due to how both protagonists don't appreciate what good things they DO have, and how much they wanted it all to be different somehow and someway. The movie truly hits hard in how much it's focused on showing a workaholic type of man or woman the reasons why to prioritize family instead, especially when the main character's dad dies when he was skipping time so much, seeing that he treated him like garbage so much. It's the whole concept of giving people a good self-reflection in ways they need, and for that... I'd say Happy Madison Productions deserves a lot of praise for this concept and when there is the serious execution in this story too. Sure, Adam Sandler can SUCK at the comedy he writes, I think the lowest of his comedic movies was "That's My Boy", about being a middle schooler who hooked up with his hot teacher cause she was a total pedophilic creep, and had a son wayyyy too early, then reflecting on how he should have been a better dad as he reconnected with him... Just still full of incestual and pedophilic jokes that was really awful, makes it painful to watch cause of it overall. My point is, this one deserves far more praise than it gets, because it especially makes me look at how much time I had with my family, how much time I had wasted INSTEAD of being with them, how much I SHOULD appreciate what I have, so on and so forth. This movie does deserve far more appreciation, it's not a total masterpiece, but the genuine lesson that it puts in place is EXACTLY why I have so much respect for it. I'm praying for Adam Sandler too, after all... The really disturbing plots, like "That's My Boy", among other films, shows he has some serious issues if he thinks that noone will find a pedophilic female teacher no big deal in a plot like that... I pray people in general looks at stuff more seriously, especially where it needs to be.

I was young when I watch this movie, I cried thinking bout my dad. I’m 37 now, working overseas for my son’s future. I still cry every time I watch this movie. I rewatched this when my son turned 12, I got really emotional because I just can’t believe how much time I’ve missed. This movie is a reminder always to me that time with family is very important.

Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love (2002) will make you cry more. It's one of Sandler's underrated crowning achievements in acting. There's a reason why it is in the Criterion Collection. A Dark Romantic Dramatic Comedy about a man with social anxiety. Very relatable film.

Esse foi o primeiro filme que me fez chorar quando criança. A dosagem humor/drama do filme é muito repentina e ambas muito forte. O valor da família é o que tiramos desse filme. Saudade de filmes assim.

In 1997, there was a television show called Goosebumps. One episode is called "Click", same story: A magical remote control that controls the world, only it doesn't have a happy ending. It seems that, the movie is inspired by that whole episode, you should watch the tv show, or at least, The haunting hours: the serie.

Walken went from playing the angel Gabriel in The Prophecy to the angel of death in Click. In some texts the angel of death is named Azrael. They don't mention that here but I like that his name is Morty as in the Latin wodrs mortis and mortem.
