In Avengers: Infinity War, Natasha did tell Bruce that Scott/Ant-Man and Clint/Hawkeye made a bargain. They needed to spend two years on house arrest followed by three years of probation.

I really love how the main plot of this movie is "Scott tries to be a good dad and not get in jail again" and all the antman stuff is just an sidequest/obstacle to that. Yes it's a superhero film but it's a dad film first. Also really glad Ghost got rescued and kept from going full villain by her father figure.

I'm glad you noticed how Scott is 100% marginalized. Especially in these times when Scott would represent someone that should be put down. Our times talks about not bulling, no body shaming, putting ppl down, yet this is the total representation of our society today. During my formative years, all during watching TV all father figures were shown to be total idiots. Growing up, it didn't want to make me be a father. If you noticed his story. He works hard, does the right thing, helps his family. But is put into prison and that destroyed his life. Most men would crumble going thru that journey.Even to survive it, his ex wife and all those around him put him down. Sorry, just a rant. When this movie came out. i was expecting more of the same. Same as Tony Stark also being put down cuz he also represents what is popular to put down in today's world. I also want to bring up that Janet was in the Quantum Realm for 30 years?! and hasn't gone insane??? i was expecting her to come back as some sort of villian, but no. After watching WandaVision, now I feel sad whenever I see Jimmy Woo get rejected to dinner with Ant-Man. He was kind of an antagonist in this movie but with no ill will, and WV really fleshed him out as a lovable character. I fucking love Randall Park.

This movie is just OK to me, but I enjoy the fact that there isn't a big supervillain with a grand plan like all the other MCU movies. Ghost is just trying to survive, even though desperation makes her do some ruthless things. And Paul Rudd is as charming as ever, the scene with him just passing time at home is honestly my favorite of the movie.

Here is the thing about why Avaa can't wait, Hank Pym who knows most about Quantum at that time (except for Janet who living in it for 30 years) can't even promise they can fix Avaa, she doesn't have much time so she can't wait months and months after Hank rescue Janet, what if Hank can't find any way to fix her? What guarantees that Janet can fix her? Nothing. So of course Avaa gonna want to go with the safest way possible, beside Hank is her enemy and part of the reason why her parents dies.

The thing you have to realize, the events of this movie are just before Infinity War. And when Infinity War does happen up to Thanos snapping his fingers, it takes place within the span of a few days. Scott being trapped in the Quantum realm was a case of really bad timing during the experiment. And Hank, Janet, and Hope not hearing the news that there was a great battle in New York (when Tony left Earth with Strange and Spiderman) or Wakanda where it all went down could have been overlooked. Or they did know about those events but didn't get involved in it.

Mary, those ashes at the end indicated the infamous snap by 'Thanos'. All three ('Hank', 'Janet' and 'Hope') got snapped/killed (stranding 'Scott' in the quantum realm). You'll understand better by the time you get to AVENGERS: ENDGAME (2019).

In infinity wars when Dr banner (Hulk) was being reintroduced to the avengers...He was saying " So their is a spider man and a Antman?" In that scene one of them mention that Scot lang was on house arrest and Hawkeye was with his family as well. They could have choose to run around with Captain America as wanted outlaws but because of Hawkeyes family, and Scotts daughter they worked things out with the government and was put on house arrest basically.

People, Hank Pym said and I quote, "Time works 'differently' in the quantum realm." DIFFERENTLY, not slow, not fast but differently. Meaning in certain places time can be fast and in others slow, in others it can be unchanged, it can be stable or unstable, you can move into another timeline and blah blah. MCU did not destroy its own argument on quantum realm. (Again I am not talking about how scott's density works on different sizes, or how time travel works, just simply saying Jenette's aging and Scott's not aging is completely acceptable)

I was thinking about the MCU 80's when Hank and Janet were active. Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, Nick Fury, Alexander Pierce, General Ross, and Bruce Banner. [Nick Fury extended the Red Alert on the manhunt for the Hulk from Shield Command with an 80's timestamp in the opening of The Incredible Hulk.] The original lineup in the comics for the Avengers were Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Ant-Man, and The Wasp.
