I wish I would have known somethings prior to catching my ex cheating with a coworker. In the beginning when my ex was lying saying he just needed time to work through some feelings I was trying. I mentioned counseling etc. once I found out about the affair that had been going on for months I ended it. I’m still working on me though and I think it’s important that people work through the betrayal and trauma of divorce.,it’s two years in January but I’m finally coming out of things.

I was the one who struggled to keep us together. She lied and cheated during the whole time. Even going to the other guy right out of our counseling sessions. Not even trying what our counselor suggested.

She doesn't fight, she is disengaged. Total mixed signals - "I'm not going anywhere", but no kissing or intimacy for years. We get along, laugh and enjoys each other - have kids - but just void of any physical affection from her and will not accept it either. She will accept hugs when I initiate lately - but still no close physical contact. She says she is working on her touched out issues and being either in work mode or Mom mode - trying to get her sense of individual self again after years of disconnect (mental load and burnout). We are talking about it, but the years of this are adding up and it's hard to keep up a positive outlook.

You can’t let someone be surrounded by the misery of children all day everyday with no break and expect them to want sex, when was the last time you got rid of them for a long time so you could have some peace, have you ever dumped them off at your parents house for a bit?

@@noonereally4798 Constantly - she simply refuses to disengage from always on. We have discussed it at great length without argument, she simply has lost her sense of self and has no desire - but will perform at work and go the extra mile and always, always put something before attending to our relationship. O cook, clean, take the kids to appointments, attend to details so she can destress - to no avail.
