Fantastic!!! Oh Mary, I was born and raised in Switzerland, and I am accustomed to alpine herbs and natural remedies, Homeopathy is huge in Switzerland and most insurance plans will cover the cost if prescribed by a doctor. That being said. I have used digestive bitters for decades (I am 75 now). My mum made her own version with herbs she plucked from our alpine pasture and she bought the rest of the ingredients from an Apothecary in the village. Thank you for this recipe, I will make this asap. I rarely have digestive issues, but occasionally I like a Bitter after a heavy winter meal.

Honey, I have crohns disease. Childhood shots destroy our gut fluora. Have you tried 2 tbsp of raw applecider vinegar with the mother (organic) in water? OR you can just swig it. You won't need anything else. I promise. BTW....the white coats know nothing about anything except pill pushing. Even doing that they don't even know what is in what they are telling us to take. My mom almost had a not so tested surgery to stop her acid reflux. Surgery was scheduled and I told her "ABSOLUTELY NOT!" I went and got her a bottle of Applecider Vinegar and she called me the very next day and said IT WORKED. She cancelled her surgery. You do NOT have to do what Mary is talking about. ACV is the key. BTW....eat as much organic as you can. The GMO foods are the cause. GMO seeds have a pesticide built right in them. It explodes the insects GUT!!! It does the same thing to humans. That is why GMO is not good for human consumption. Hope this helps. Let me know. You will know immediately.

Mary . . . Hi Sweet Friend! There are 2 things I want to say . . . 1) Came for the bitters, and stayed for the Hildegard! Loved all of that discussion -- thank you! 2) learning to make digestive bitters is something I've long wanted to do because buying bitters is expensive, and I find bitters so helpful. So thank you THANK YOU for doing this video! Blessings to you.

@@MarysNest Hi Mary, thank you for your response. I did not misunderstand you. Mary was a sinful, fallen human being, like the rest of us; albeit a much better person than I, I am willing to admit. We must only pray to the Father, in Jesus Christ's name, and not to Mary or any other person who is dead. God strictly forbids necromancy (see: Saul trying to speak to the spirit of Samuel). This is a serious issue in Catholicism, just as in Orthodoxy (the denomination that Jesus freed me from). I do not doubt the sincerity of your faith, I only comment for the benefit of my brothers & sisters in Christ, whom I love dearly. God bless you.

@@SteliosMusic if Our Lord respected and loved his Mother, even listened to her and obeyed her, then you’d be well advised to show her the same respect. Our Lady died just as Our Lord did, but because she was chosen to be the mother of God because and was conceived without sin, unlike the rest of us, she was taken to heaven, body and soul when she died. She has been given a very special place and intercedes for us, because she is still the Mother of God and no-one had God’s ear more than she.

If you only have a cheap vodka around and want to make it taste more smooth like a high-dollar vodka, you can strain it two or three times through something like a Britta charcoal home water filtration pitcher. That's how distillers do the "charcoal filtering" on liquor, only on a massive scale. (Last week I read a DIY recipe by ATK that taught me this trick: How to make cheap bourbon taste like expensive smooth bourbon. It should work for vodka too.) 😉

I had never heard of "bitters" till l lived in Italy. I was introduced to non alcohol bitter drinks .. but I did not like them. Although, they do have a liquor that is made with bitters that is served after your meal. I was told that it was used after a meal to help with digestion. To be honest I just liked the taste. One of the only bitter drinks that I did like. So after meal time even at Italian restaurants you have a choice of an espresso or a liquor. When I moved back to the states. I finally figured out what the bitters drinks were used for. Until recently we hadn't been able to find them here in the US. Then low and behold we find them intermittently. Now I love them. Not sure what happened. One of my faves is San Bitters grapefruit. (non alcoholic). Since I have to take digestive enzymes now. These really do help.. I am looking forward to using this method. Thank you for your hard work and for sharing.

Love this Mary. Just a suggestion - while consuming it cold, that's problematic for the liver. Cold is the liver's enemy. But since it's a small about, perhaps hold it in your mouth to warm it up prior to swallowing the bitters. You're the best - God Bless You!!!

Thanks for sharing as always, Mary. I also like to share this digestion with Turmeric Powder and Honey after each meal if you are having problems with digestion. Also, you can make a drink with warm water like a tea after each meal. It works every time for me. Sharing is Caring!

Yes it’s sad that in reality, healthcare happens outside the AMA Ins only pays for ineffective treatments n meds Poor ppl have no access to healthcare, just catastrophic care thru Medicaid/Medicare - if they got in a car wreck for instance.

Restaurant worker for 20 years. Best way is to pull and allow to unthaw in the fridge over night. For a speedier way place package into a bowl and fill that with cold water in the sink. Continuously allow a trickle of fresh cold water to run over the meat. These two methods are the safest to prevent food born illness.

Your videos are always so educational and appreciated! I thought I had an iron stomach up until a year ago when I suddenly developed a lot of disturbing digestive issues. It took months to discover the cause was H. Pylori, and unfortunately the standard course of antibiotics failed to help. I’m going to follow an herbal treatment protocol (against medical advice) for the next few weeks in hopes of avoiding another round of drugs that the bacteria has become resistant to. The digestive bitters will be a helpful addition to my arsenal 😊. I’m trying to pare down on book buying but it’s so hard! I’m really interested in those you talked about and will have to look up the Chestnut School too. All of God’s medicine is here for us! I love spelt too :)

Thanking you so much for sharing this subject about Hildegard and herbs very dear to my heart …I grew in Bavaria with a grandmother who extensively used herbs to heal her six children …can still smell them brewing on a low simmering pot on the stove … there is still a convent at a lake in Bavaria at Chiemsee called “Frauen Insel “where the nuns still Create herbal liquors with a recipe of herbs that is handed down from generation to generation to the nuns…check it out incredibly beautiful place…thank you for sharing the herbal books about Hildegard…stay blessed

How would food grade glycerin work for making these bitters?
@MarysNest
@MarysNest Жыл бұрын
That is interesting. Some folks will use glycerine when making tinctures including digestive bitters. Just keep in mind that glycerine is what is known as a "trihydric alcohol" so if you are looking to go 100% alcohol free, you would want to use vinegar. Love, Mary
