When I was younger my family bought several hundred pounds of beans, flour and sugar each fall. Canned and froze all the fruits vegetables we ate. Had our own milk cows made our cottage cheese and butter. We didn't know we were preppers. It just the way we got buy. Only bought coffee , salt as well. Not much else. We ate Good. Thanks for bringing back memories from before all the convenient foods premade took over.

That oatmeal bread looks great. Was hoping you had a recipe for a good rye bread or pumpernickel bread. My husband, who is mostly German, loves it but every recipe I try never turns out very good. A local restaurant serves a dark rye bread that is wonderful and it contains millet seeds, and no caraway seeds. We love it, but I would love to learn how to make it at home. Can you help me?

I’ve been grinding my own flour for about 6 months now. My family loves my bread and cookies that I’ve tried. The only complaint is it takes so long to grind it. It’s a great deal of time each week to grind the flour for the week. I haven’t tried a cake yet, but that’s the next test.

I’m watching and enjoying your video now. One of my granddaughters is gluten intolerant. Do you have a gluten free option? Preferably one that doesn’t include almond flour. She has a nut allergy as well.

Hi Mamie, that’s a great question. I don’t have a recipe. I’ll have to experiment but I wonder if Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Baking Mix might be an option to replace the flour. I’ve seen that sold at my local grocery store. Love, Mary ❤️🤗❤️

Wonder if you could substitute gluten-free 1:1 flour, in place of the all-purpose flour and coconut powdered milk for the dry milk?

I am looking to store several containers of oatmeal for long term storage. I freeze most things like rice and flour ect. To kill anything that may be in there. My question is: can a bake it then store in glass jars? ( as I bake it before I make granola with it)
