Hi Sweet Friends, Today I am sharing how to make Condensed Milk. It's so easy and only requires 2 ingredients. And if you would like to learn how to make Evaporated Milk, I have a video about that too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4iWd6utg9hgmNU Love, Mary

Hi Mary, I have used the wrong milk. My Condensed Milk tastes devine and is very smooth but is very thin. Not thick at all. Is there any way I can thicken it? Love the information.
@MarysNest4 жыл бұрын
Erin Shore - Hi Erin, I understand completely. What you’ll want to do is to allow it to evaporate a bit more on very low heat. It should thicken a bit more. Keep me posted. Love, Mary❤️🤗❤️

Hi Mary, I realised I made from trim milk which is probably why I have the result I do. I have made another batch with whole milk and its beautiful. Definitely thicker than before but still on the runny side. How do I get it really thick like the can? Do I need to reduce it more?
@erinshore78744 жыл бұрын
@@MarysNest Bless. Thank you so much for replying! I am going to try that with the newest batch I have made from whole milk. It definitely came out thicker but its still a little on the thin side...I want it really thick like the can. The first batch I realised is made from trim milk. I will keep you posted.

@@syedaanjum896 why not use microwave for food?that’s surely why we have one…
@DrSerenaReep2 жыл бұрын
The reason for not using microwave is that it zaps all nutrients from the food. I don’t use microwave for anything but heating some water when I’m in a hurry. Microwave is convenient, but the point of eating food is to nourish your body- and when the food you eat is no better than sawdust, what is the point? It is just empty calories.
@mistyqqq2 жыл бұрын
@@DrSerenaReep Microwave cooking is actually one of the least likely forms of cooking to damage nutrients. That's because the longer food cooks, the more nutrients tend to break down, and microwave cooking takes less time. So cooking a roast in an oven is more likely to cause some loss of nutrients than cooking the roast in a microwave. And boiling vegetables is more likely to rob them of nutrients than either cooking them in the oven or microwaving them. That's because some nutrients leach out of the food into the water. So microwave cooking is not only fast, it's also sometimes nutritionally advantageous. Of course, I've ignored an important question: does food cooked in a microwave taste any different from the same food cooked in an oven? I leave the answer to your palate. -Anthony L. Komaroff, M.D.

This is great to have on hand. I feel like canned condensed milk is thinner than it was in the past. In the past, there was a recipe for “Banana Split Pizza” in Eagle Brand cookbook. My girls are grown but made when they were children and they loved it, the filling were very thick, now when you follow recipe the filling runs off the crust. I hope to make my own now.

Thank you so much for showing me this video, my daughter today asked me what the ingredients of condensed milk were and I couldn’t answer her! She asked me as I had made Scottish tablet (fudge) but taste wasn’t quite right - the manufacturer’s that makes our condensed milk must be adding a thickener to their product now instead of reducing the milk and it tastes very floury. Now I know how to make my own and will try it this week. A VERY BIG THANK YOU!. BTW, all your videos are fantastic and I have learnt such a lot from you :-)

This is all about technique.... I can't wait to try it. It's so cost effective and with next to no effort. Loved the measuring hint. I've already decided one spoon will be sacrificed by a notch in the wood and I'll always use the same pan. Brilliant !!! Best video on condensed milk I've seen ...and I've seen plenty lol You are a natural teacher. :o)

Just to let you know, I've had success using soy milk to make condensed milk and I've used Stevia as well.
@sitdown39834 жыл бұрын
Soy is a GMO product in this country. It is also in soooo many boxed and canned foods here. In Japan, they eat soy much much much (not a typo) less of it. Soy as it is in the US is not healthy as you have been led to believe, and it is not supposed to be used as often as it's used by some here. If you want to be vegan, then do it as The Healthy Life channel (and others like them) does it - they eat raw. Just "cook" whenever you want to. I can't remember if I ever saw soy as an ingredient in their recipe vids - it may be, but then it is in the few recipe vids of theirs I have not seen yet. )You may be getting non GMO soy for all I know, and you may be eating it only a few times a week. I wrote the above just in case.)

@@sitdown3983 I am in Australia. I am not vegan nor do I want to be. I use soy milk to reduce my cholesterol.
@sitdown39834 жыл бұрын
@@georgianasstudio Hi Australia!! I have been to your country and fell so in love with it atmospherically (geography, the quality of sun light, the colors, etc etc etc.) Dear God, I considered staying on past my visa to try to making a life there if I could! But I chose to return to what was home at the time, Manhattan, which until Australia I used to love. For three whole months, once I returned, the skyscrapers in Manhattan looked like a bunch of tall garbage cans to me! Thankfully that awful feeling passed - it took 3 months, but at least it did pass. This world is soooooo beautiful, it is just unreal. That comforted me then as well - that if I loved Australia that much there would be other places I'd love that much too. Now back to the cholesterol: well okay then! Alas, that is another point we in the USA have been and are being mislead on - cholesterol is so very needed in so many body functions that fearing it has created a lot of dementia etc in the US! Hope it's not the same attitude in Australia!

I just love your videos and continue to learn so much. They’re so clear and detailed, and you are such a delight to watch. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this platform. This really has been the highlight of my day because my cow is giving so much milk (I haven’t the nerve to make hard cheeses so there’s only so much I can process/consume/share/feed to chickens), HOWEVER my beloved SIL is going through radiation treatment, and she uses sweetened condensed milk in her morning coffee, so now I’m going to make this for her! The chickens can do with a lot less. Many blessings to you and your loved ones.

01/04/2023: This has been the most informative video on how to make condensed milk I've seen yet; very precise, clear cut and to the point, especially when you pointed out the measurements needed to make what's equivalent to a store-bought can; that helped a lot. Nevertheless, your instructions will guide me on how to make it without question. I can't wait to make it tomorrow for a recipe I'll be using it in, and hopefully I'll never want to buy another can ever again. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe and Happy New Year!

Believe it or not my grandmother had two rooms for cooking and eating because of this. It really was nice because it allowed my mom to get us kids into the cooking with her and my grandmother. Shaped my whole life of what family is, not the eating but the knowledge and working together as a whole. The hard part is I have a very tiny kitchen at the time. I swear the bathroom is bigger and that isn't much more of a size. lol

I thought the same, I make batches and batches of ice cream and use condensed milk as an central ingredient. For the first time, the store was unable to supply condensed milk, I think people are noticing the product, people who maybe didn't buy it before, but saw it as replacing milk and sugar when those are unavailable. In our part of the UK, the older generations used condensed milk as a preference in tea. I love making ice cream, I use it as a means of preserving fruit and dairy products. Proud to support our Dairy Farmers.
