Great video. Just a small comment. It seems to be possible to have more than one track routed to the samme midi channel. Just create a new Instrument track and go to notes to tracks and choose the previous track as the destination

Thanks for the comment, yes you can most definitely use the "notes to " device/routing, it's just a different concept than what I normally look for. I am a new subscriber to MaschineTutorials.com... very happy so far! One question about this video. How do I send midi from a pattern in Maschine to a separate instrument track in Bitwig (e.g., with Serum loaded in). This way I can use Maschine as a sequencer and Bitwig to run the plugin (with delay compensation and other features not avail in Maschine).
@maschinetutorials

You'd send MIDI out from the individual pad instead of the whole group, that way you get all of the note ranges.

Great tutorial. It worked! Best tutorials on the net for Maschine IMO. I have a question. Is there any way to see all sounds separately form maschine in BitWig mixer? As far as I grasp this (I am complete noob), now we connected whole group to input in Bitwig. Is there any way to see all aounds separately from maschine (per group or all) in bitwig? Something easy like this chain trick (Find missing chains)? Or do I have to connects all sounds manually form Maschine one by one in Bitwig? What I want to do is to mix every single sample/sound in bitwig and then add mastering effects at the end. Simply I have full track in peak form in Maschine (8 bars) but I want to arrange all it in Bitwig. Live record it, re-arrange it then tweak it - All in Bitwig. Big thanks! :)

+mikelo303 You can route your audio channels from Maschine into Bitwig, just keep in mind you only have 16 outputs total (32 mono I suppose) but you can route each pad to an external output, and setup channels in Bitwig to receive those outputs.

+Maschine Tutorials Thanks a lot. It worked!. I created 14 groups in total in mashine. Routed them as shown in bitwig to 16 tracks. Thanks. Now I want to mix and master in bitwig. I want to connect my old Behringer controller and set each group audio volume in bitwig. How can I do it? Do you have tutorial for that. Basically I want to be able to mix it in bitwig, add some compression and eq at the end and record it in bitwig. Contorller would make my life much easier and for that I think I need to be able to have autio tracks in bitwig as well. Not only midi. I know I am a noob. I am learning. Thanks.

Thank you saintjoe for this great video. Followed your instructions and the setup works great with the Maschine Studio controller but with my Komplete Kontrol keyboard which does not trigger any sound. The keyboard was automatically detected and set up by Bitwig and works fine in the DAW but the midi does not seem to be properly routed to the Maschine VST. Any idea what could be missing ? I am a bit new to Bitwig and have probably missed something

If it's setup in Bitwig your keyboard should trigger anything via midi. Does it work on other channels?
@STF_YVR
@STF_YVR 10 жыл бұрын
Hello SJ, Yes it works on any Bitwig channel with or without the komplete kontrol vst on the track. It might be a midi routing issue somewhere in Bitwig or Maschine, Or a problem with the Bitwig controller script not playing well with Maschine but I can't figure it out. I watched your video again and my setup is identical to yours. Everything works fine as long as I use the Maschine pads to play/record but if I want to play on the KKS keyboard I can't. I can see the midi going in. I can even adjust the settings on VST in Maschine but no sounds, no notes. Do you have an S series, have you tested it with this setup ? I am on OSX with the latest versions of everything.It would really help to know if anyone can reproduce this or if I have just overlooked something.

Hi! Thanks for another great video! This is probably one of the most useful tutorials I've ever seen on Bitwig and Maschine syncing! I've got a question, though. I think I've followed the instructions properly and turned overdub on and everything, but when I start recording more pads, I can't hear the ones I've already recorded. The notes are there and they aren't disappearing, but for whatever reason they're not triggering the sounds inside Maschine. I can only hear the ones I'm playing. Would you happen to know any way to fix this?

I finally figured it out! It only works if you record inside the Scene Launcher instead of recording straight to the main arranger. Now I'm only going to have to learn how to properly use the launcher, but I'm sure it'll be well worth it. Anyway, this pretty much completes all my needs from Bitwig and Maschine alike. Time to make some music! Thanks again for the video! It helped me a great deal figuring things out.

Hey I've set everything to the exact way you put it in the video. However, when I try to record something I already made a beat in Maschine, and I set a second instrument track to the correct settings, I only get the audio playing and signals coming from the original Machine track you pulled up for the settings, and not the individual groups. But when I record something the midi notes seem to appear on the grid of Bigwig, but it doesn't playback or sounds doesn't seem to be flowing out of the second "instrument track with Maschine's group 1" help?

RawBeaTz Llapitan Not sure of your setup, but you have to make sure all the routing is done properly. If it's something you've already made in Maschine and you just want to record the audio you don't need to setup the midi, just make sure the audio is routed properly.

So in Bitwig 4 things have changed slightly to how i see it in this video. I couldn't route the two instrument tracks to have notes from Maschine as well as routing notes to the Maschine plugin, the option to route notes to track - maschine just doesn't appear. My first workaround is once you've recorded your midi notes from maschine into Bitwig to then change the input to No input and then the option to route notes out to Maschine will appear. Once Maschine plugin was set as the output i was then able to set maschine as the input again. Strange!

Hey, I have a question and i'm sorry but it's not relevant to this video. But the NI forum turned up nothing and I... didn't know where else to go! haha. So I had this track all worked out and recorded and almost done. One of the banks is loaded with samples from various parts of a song. I had all the sounds pitched differently and with varying effects. I don't know what happened... but now when I make any change at all to one of the sounds in the bank, it alters all the rest. For example, if I change the pitch of one sound, all of the other sounds follow. I'm not sure what I did to cause that, and it was working before. driving me nuts. any idea? its like they all chained together and I'm not sure how. MK2. thanks.

Maschine Tutorials oh you , you can do any and every thing ...that's why i've been trying to spread the word on it ... 1. Adding Fx ( reverbs feel more natural ) 2. Loudness to any sound ( you can drive the loop to insane levels )(( we have seen the negative side of this live on stage at times , so controlling this is Crucial so use Limiters & Ect to contain level)) 3. Sound design ( you actually don't need any source sounds , you can build sounds or change your synth sounds completely ) 4. creating bass lines out of melodies or vocals ... 5. filling in the spaces of a close to finished beat that needs just a little something more , but you want it in tune and to go with everything quick and easy .. - - - - - The Sky is the Limit ... anything with ins and outs can get in on the loop ... ipads , speakers & mics , analog gear , traktor Pro , DAWS ( Reason , Ableton , Logic , ect )... - - - - - i took me years of beat making and producing to Find my different works flows and tricks , but feedback is one we all should know well.. feedback is responsible for many of our normal effects like Reverb , Delay , Phaser , Flanger , Chorus , Ect ... thats why they have the feedback knob ... when you build them yourself you just have more control , adding filters where you like , ECT.... Cheers XD - JNHM - fellow Beat Maker ect. -

Just an FYI that this technique does not quite work anymore in the latest versions of Bitwig and Maschine.

Cool, should still be similar in concept. Haven't tried it in a while.

This works, but using the pads in keyboard mode is useless. Thanks for posting.

+Todd Mushaw In keyboard mode you don't do "sounds to midi notes" you just give the individual pad it's own midi channel instead.
